    Hi
    Great video, I just got my first autograph print and can already feel the itch of wanting more.
    Glad I found this video to help me prepare for my future ahead.

    Thanks so much. Looks like I’ll be getting a art profolio. I have had some of my autographs in top loaders for years. Pulled a couple out and surprisingly nothing was smudged. Also is keeping the autographs in container tubs a ok idea?

    • @BrandaoCollection
      @BrandaoCollection  2 роки тому +1

      Depending on the climate where you live, the container tubs may do damage if the temperature changes frequently

      Sorry for the late response! I keep my Itoya binders upright. Similar to books on a bookshelf. That way, they don't have the pressure from the binders on top.

    Great video! Would love if maybe you could show us a separate video as to how you scan the autographs. Perhaps also showing the type of scanner used. I would love to scan my collection and start hanging them up but not sure what the best way is especially for 16x20 autographs.

    Hey, great video. Do you have advice on how to prevent autographs on playmats from fading? I got a pokemon playmat that’s not signed with a permanent marker and is vulnerable to fading away. Thanks

    • @BrandaoCollection
      @BrandaoCollection  2 місяці тому

      Unfortunately, that type of surface doesn't really have a way to preserve an autograph on it. The playmat absorbs the ink over time.

    Great vid. Do you have any tips or suggestion on types of glass to protect autographed pictures? I’m trying to make my own mats/frames but can’t find helpful consistent information about glass online. I see some talk of UV Conservation glass and Museum glass, and was wondering if you use anything like that.

    • @BrandaoCollection

      I personally display copies of my autographs so I just use regular frames
      But I have friends that use UV glass with mattes to protect their framed pieces
      You can always by a cheaper frame and then the UV glass separate as well

    • @BrandaoCollection

      There isn't a way to remove fingerprints fully without damaging the photo but you can use a microfiber cloth to softly wipe the areas with fingerprints and no autograph

    What about acrylic glass on a normal frame?
    I went to Michael’s to look into frames and the person behind the session who seemed to be extremely knowledgeable on the topic, even showing us how picture ink sticks to the glass. They said acrylic anti acid, anti static, and uv resistance glass is the best
    To the point where you can just put the picture against it no mat needed because it doesn’t stick
    Is this true or safe?

    • @BrandaoCollection
      @BrandaoCollection  Місяць тому

      Any type of material against the autograph is eventually going to lift the graph off over time

    • @BrandaoCollection
      @BrandaoCollection  7 місяців тому

      There really isn’t a way to preserve autographs on canvas without possible damage

    Hello, I wanted to ask is would my autographs still be good if they were still in a top loader? I have my autographs In a 8.5×11 top loader (the pictures are 8×10.) And I have them in a safe. Would they still get damaged in the top loaders?

    • @BrandaoCollection
      @BrandaoCollection  4 місяці тому +1

      It is not guaranteed that they will be damaged overtime in a top loader but it is a higher possibility that they will. I would recommend an art portfolio, like Itoya, to store them in and then put them in the safe

    • @BrandaoCollection
      @BrandaoCollection  8 місяців тому

      It all depends on the pen used. A paint pen needs 5-10 minutes to dry. For a sharpie, that only needs a minute or two. I wouldn’t leave any signed photo in a toploader for long term though

    • @BrandaoCollection

      Slight finger creases would be difficult to remove completely. Stacking some books on the photo temporarily could help with deep creases. No matter what you do, be careful cause any option could possibly add additional damage.

    • @BrandaoCollection
      @BrandaoCollection  8 місяців тому

      I get my frames from Amazon for up to 11x17. I would recommend getting a size up so you can put a matte around the photo so it doesn't touch the glass. For full size posters, Hollywood Poster Frames is great. A bit pricey but definitely worth it especially for autographed posters.

You mention these recommendations for signatures on posters or pictures. What if the autograph is on an index card? Can it be stored in a card saver or top loader for the LONG TERM, based on the ink already absorbed into the cardboard paper material?
