- After generations of rebellion, God is asking the children of Israel to repent from their sins and turn back to Him in Zechariah 1:1-17. As we study Zechariah’s first vision for these people, we see what a rider in the myrtle trees means in light of their captivity, prophecy, and God’s love and mercy for His people.

@@St7117 I have a great church, Calvery Dover, they do many great things in the community, teaching is good, but I love the additional history and background along with pictures of your trips from Athey Creek teaching.
Palestinian are the thorn in Israel’s side they may be home but many have turned away from God like many in the *Christian lands” we have forgotten the way to follow the bible and God
Replacement Theology is a lot more pervasive than I thought... I went to a Pastors luncheon hosted by the "Hawaii Christian Coalition" this past Saturday where they were hosting political candidates, I thought it was going pretty well, but in the closing, some guy cited some verse that calls Israel "God's Senate", said the church was the new Israel, and started a group chant of "We are Israel"...

Pastor Brett mentioned that a lot of theologians don’t understand why Zechariah is so specific on the dates of his visions & after thinking about it for awhile, could it be as simple as God knew at some point in history people would make allegations that it was actually written after Christ? Kind of the same situation as a scientist saying the world is billions of years old. Well, if you believe the scripture to be divine and true, then I think God gave us those specific dates and timelines so we have an easy reassurance that those claims are false. Why? Simply because he gave us the specific dates. That might just be my simple mind understanding lol but Just some food for thought 😊

The date in Zech 1:7 24th of the month is the last or 4th weekly Sabbath of the month. This is based on creation week. On the 4th day of creation God placed two lights in the heavens and 3 days after came the first sabbath. Then the weekly sabbaths are 3, 10, 17, 24.

Years ago I read a pretty thick novel called The Pride of Carthage, about Hannibal. It refers a lot to the different forces of Hannibal's army, one of which was the Balearic stone slingers. They were clearly very valued and respected.

We have so many translations into English also more interpretations this can make it hard for believers to know what to accept I grew up on kj and can find my way around it yet today it gets a bad press
I keep coming back time and again because Pastor Brett is a great teacher of history and scripture……BUT…..it is so difficult to sit through a full teaching due to the constant “uhhs and ummms”.

Maybe the dates are recorded is because God knew someday the authenticity of these visions would be called into question.. just like you said at the beginning of this video???
Why are dates important? Because numbers have meanings. for example 7 is Gods Will through Man, or 6 is self (Ego, I, Es)
I don't know what translation you are using, but assuaged is most commonly spelled a•s•s•u•a•g•e•d. But I'm no scholar.
QUESTION!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND!!! In 1:3 you said Jesus is the "Lord of host". And in 1:11 Jesus is the angel of the Lord. So in 1:12 Jesus (the angel of the Lord) answered and said Jesus (Lord of hosts) how long will that not have mercy...... it sounds like Jesus ask himself a question then answered himself? That doesn't make sense so I am missing something!?!?

Love Pastor Brett. Just a question: he is referring to Haggai, correct? I keep hearing Haggy- I. Just a mispronunciation?
He says Haggy-eye instead of Hag-eye. So when you hear it, he is referring to Haggai.
Nebeekeneza was appointed by God. Shaddrac Meshach and abendigo should have obeyed him according to what Paul said. Danial should have stopped praying. I'm not saying we are to be rebellious but when man's laws go against God we shouldn't obey. How many people got the v without even thinking about it because of one verse, I think has been taken out if context. Jesus said if they persucute you in one city go to another. What if the authorities are persecuting you should you stay and obey. The early Christians should have taken a pinch of salt and declared Ceasar God because the authorities of the day said you must do it. They are going to use the verse quoted against us in these days as well as the word love. Because we don't agree with them the authorities on the definition of love , they will call us haters.
