Just got this 2023 Toyota Corolla SE Hatchback. My impression is that I will really enjoy owning it. I love Toyota cars and I don't think this will be any exception.
I leased a 2022 Honda Civic Hatchback at the end of 2021 after having only Toyotas (mostly Corollas.) two days ago all my warning lights came on on my dashboard and yesterday it stranded me and wouldn’t start. Thank god I leased it, I’m definitely going back to Toyota next year.
I'm a big Toyota fan myself. If there is a Toyota choice of a type of car I am looking for, I buy the Toyota. My love for my Maverick Hybrid truck may end if Toyota comes out with a small hybrid truck.....
Leasing a car is the dumbest thing one could do
Just received my 23 xse hatch and love it.
My son LOVES this car. I am really impressed with it also.
How much is it?
I paid sticker for mine which was about 29k with a few dealer add ons.
@@LinuxKali1114 thanks, and you mean 29kUSD + tax right?
@@muchodinero8273 yep.
Where Corolla vagon for US market,I want one!
Could you possibly do a trunk test with suitcases? I havent been able to find anything online. Can I get 2 Checked Bags in the trunk without getting the enhanced cargo option?
Will see what I can put together
@@GearGadgetExperimentsSounds good! Thank you sir! my toyota dealer is giving me msrp while honda is $2k marked up, so I wanted to make sure the slightly smaller car would still be alright for my needs
Luggage space update ua-cam.com/video/bbbckr4H0xs/v-deo.html
"gears shift very smooth" its a cvt lmao of course its smooth, very true though paddle shifters on a cvt is rare, but shows that Toyota really listens to what their customers care about
Do you think an adult road bike would fit in the hatch with the seats down?
If you don't remove the front wheel, no. If you remove the front wheel, probably. If you remove both wheels, for sure.
The used car market is insane right now, so I think you made the right choice with spending just a little bit extra and getting something you know will last a while. I love hatchbacks and had no idea Toyota was making them for Corollas. And the SE comes with so many built in features.
My whole family loves this car.
Just helped my sister shop around for one. Best deal I could find within 200 miles of me was a 2019 hatchback se with 60k miles for 18 thousand...yeah she just got a brand new 2023 se instead for 25k after all the dealer fees and ect
Nice review and you sound like an awesome dad. I’m 6’2” in height and am wondering if the Corolla sedan would be more comfortable for me.
I don't think you will be comfortable in the back seat of either car. My son is 6'0" and he loves the car. I think the hatchback is a cooler looking car than the sedan.
All the Corolla hatches are made in Japan which is a big plus as well.
I did not know that. Indeed a plus!
I would rather have a Japanese car that was made/assembled in Japan than say the Corolla sedan that is made in Mississipi.🤢🤮I don't like the Camry styling but the Camry is made in America-Kentucky???
@@microminiskirt Some Japan-built Corolla sedans make their way to US dealers. Look for a “J” VIN.
Just got my 23 hatch in crush blue and im loving it. Had it since the 26th and at about 325 miles so far and im impressed coming from a passed down 2002 ES300. Android auto is great, the new infotainment screen is much more responsive than the 2022 i had test driven while waiting for my 23 to get in, stock tires could be better but theyre good enough. Drove to visit family for new years about 3 hrs from home and was getting over 40mpg, even driving a little more spirited at some points of the trip haha
It is an impressive little car.
I will go with the XSE for the better stereo from factory, fog lights, blindspot warning system standard. The only item I don't care for on XSE are those 18 inch wheels and tires that come standard on the XSE.
I think the XSE has the cool spoiler too.
@@GearGadgetExperiments I think it's a $395 option?🤔
But purely cosmetic in nature and adds weight??
I had to buy what was on the lot. But for an extra $400 I would have bought it. Cosmetically worth it ;)
Nice video. Calmy spoken and easy to watch. Thanks
Thanks. The car has been great for us.
I bought my Corolla SE hatchback in April 2019, so I've been driving it for 4 years. It's fast and sporty for a Corolla and a great car all around for the money!
My son loves the Corolla.
I got one and love it, the one I have is the SE model congratulations on your toy.
Great video! Interested to know how tall you are in terms of the leg space in the back? I've just ordered mine in the same colour and will have a 5 & 7 year old in the back.
I am 5'8". Your kids will be plenty comfortable in the back. My son put HS buddies in the back. haha
I'm bummed that Toyota nixed the manual transmissions in the 2023 hatchback ! Looks like I'll be hunting for a 2022 LE with three pedals.
Indeed, the manual clutch is becoming extinct. But the paddle shifters are pretty cool on this.
I like this Toyota Corolla much better than your Maverick.
I think Corolla is pretty nice.
Your Corolla has a 2 liter high compression dual injected engine borrowed from the Lexus UX200. Also has a special Lexus CVT with a physical first gear which gives you great off the line acceleration. What's interesting is that the Corolla sedan actually has more cargo space and more rear legroom than the Corolla hatchback.
Great car. That is interesting about the size compared to the sedan.
The sedans are all made in the U.S. or Mexico. The hatchbacks are made in Japan. Peace of mind when you see Made in Japan. Not so much with the others.
@@user-pj8em4gu6v Corolla sedans are made in the USA or Japan. There are no Corolla sedans made in Mexico. Please don't spread lies.
@@braetonwilson4296 couldn’t remember if it was USA or Mexico hence I used or and no lies spread. All Corolla sedans sold in the states are assembled here in the states and zero from Japan. The starting number on sedans starts with a number which confirms this. All hatchbacks VIN numbers start with J.
@@user-pj8em4gu6v Again you're spreading lies. There are several 2023 Corolla sedans that have a VIN that start with J.
Thanks for sharing your video nice car i owned a 2010 matrix 2.4 suppose to be a Corolla hatchback but toyota decided to use the matrix name instead but already discontinued but in Canada very popular but in the USA not popular and toyota have to discontinued but this time toyota decided to use the Corolla hatchback but the matrix is very nice drive but the interior materials very cheap and alot bigger interior than the Corolla hatchback take care bye from milton Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
The matrix was one of the used cars I was looking to buy. Not sure why it wasn't more popular. Seems like a great car too.
What color is your Matrix...er, I mean Corolla hatchback? :) Looks sharp!
yes, it does remind me of the old Matrix. haha. Magnetic Gray Metallic. I really like the color.
I reserved one a few weeks ago. Hasn’t arrived yet. How do you turn off the lane assist?
From the steering wheel controls, you can scroll to your settings and disable it.
@@GearGadgetExperimentsthank you!
Looks like an engine 😅😅🤣
UPDATE on hatchback space ua-cam.com/video/AHeLCSqc31I/v-deo.html
Toyota did cheap job looks like 2018 inside,my 06 Bmw better inside
I love my 2024
It's funny you don't care one iota about the engine or the fact it has 169hp.
Haha. The funny thing is, I am afraid the car is TOO fast since my son will be the primary driver. I honestly would have been ok with 130hp and 50 MPG (hwy).
Just bought one myself you do great videos!
Congrats! My son LOVES this car. I am waiting for him to go off to college so it can be mine. Haha
Love the car! Do you think the boot will fit 2 checked luggage suitcases?
Maybe. If you have them both upright.
Update on luggage fit. ua-cam.com/video/AHeLCSqc31I/v-deo.html
Very nice.
hopefully my bmx bike fits in the back without having to take one of the wheels off
That will be close.
Great colour,
Don’t know why Canada doesn’t import it
Really? You can't get this car in Canada?
Corolla Hatchback looks so beautiful. I ordered my SE 3 months ago. Still waiting for my local dealer to call me lol
Haha. It is a great car. Worth the wait
Did it ever come in? How do you like it?
Does it have simulating gear shift like automatic?
Paddle shifters simulate gear shifting well.
I wonder if the golf clubs would fit if you took the privacy cover off and laid them diagonally across resting on one of the back head rests. I also like the "golf club test" because if you have car seat in the back for kids its not always easy to just move the seat down.
It is really close. You might fit if you don't use a big cart bag and you may have to remove your driver and 3 wood
Here is the an update on the golf bag fit. I was able to fit it after all. ua-cam.com/video/AHeLCSqc31I/v-deo.html
Awesome and thank you. Great video
Any thoughts on putting a roof rack on that?
No thoughts of a rack at the moment.
Where is the exhaust coming out? It looks a bit weird without it.
It is pretty well hidden. Integrated with the lower portion of the bumper
@@GearGadgetExperiments Thanks! I hope that doesn't result in overheating down the line. Great review, I'm interested in purchasing the car.
Oops. I am wrong. My base model is not itegrated in the lower bumper. It is just hidden behind it. Haha
what's the price?
About 23k. Msrp
thank you!
You're welcome!
