My Traffic Signal Collection - Quarantine Edition

- I decided to add another full intersection video for the end of March because a lot of you are stuck at home.
This is just a brief update to my basement intersection. I've added a poly Fortran section with the red countdown timer to my fiber optic pedestrian signal. The backplate for the 3M isn't completely secured yet but it's "in place". I've changed the visors from yellow to black on the inline 5 & the bicycle signal. I've changed the visors from black to yellow on the inline 4 & added a strobe unit to the red. It currently does not work but I am going to get it upgraded by Sean Breen to an LED strobe.
Finally, I still have some extra Polara Navigators that I've tested at this point and fixed one of them with parts from another heavily damaged Navigator. They will likely be used in the future!

I love The talking countdown sign that you got. It’s pretty handy for the blind pedestrians to be able to cross on the crosswalk on the streets.

Wowee! I only have one old 50's? Walk Wait sign someone lighted with a household cord. Not sure if it ever had the covers but would look cool if it did.
Pedestrian signals do have louvers.
I mean, only some because the covers would have to be embedded for the pedestrian signals to work properly .

Awesome update! I personally think the bicycle signal looks nice with black doors and I love the flashing count down! I also like how the pedestrian signal by the Gentrol has a count down with the 0 staying on, like what Quebec does!

Yeah! I've had it for a little while now but I've changed out the LED's a couple of times. And thanks! I'm happy with that PED signal!
Superb! I have never seen a signal with up arrow at same time with right turn arrow...all on same lens! That was unique!
Yeah! They are very common in Quebec! We have a couple in Nova Scotia too!

These are the most rarest lights I've never seen.
5:01 the walk sound when the pedestrian signal is still at don’t walk.

Hey Kyle, have you ever done a traffic light restoration?? I’m thinking about spray painting my traffic light yellow because it’s green but I don’t want to mess up
I haven't done a full restoration yet but you'll have to strip the light. A full sanding or sand blasting. Then primer, then a couple coats of paint. You'll probably have to grease up the hinges as well. Lots to do haha!
Kyle Miller do you know what kind of sand paper to use? I don’t want to over sand it or have it ended up with scratches
@@treytrent1999 You'd want something that's really fine. Not the really rough stuff. I also sent you an email earlier regarding extending the wire for your pedestrian signal!

Newer models typically are 12" or 300mm but you'll still see quite a few 8" or 200mm models!
What is the purpose of the blue light on the signal at 3:49 ? What does it mean? I’ve never seen one like that.
It's supposed to be like an emergency vehicle signal! There are other variations of this that use blue. My specific one was a custom build.

@@daltondick5223 Definitely not like that one. There are fixtures that have blue light bulbs in them in upstate New York for snow emergencies. I have also heard of blue signals similar to this for emergency vehicles in British Columbia I believe.

Yup! They are active at 8:15. I have some previous videos of just those signals as well.
