Good day i have a 2017 titan 4x4 7 speed and my valve body is bad also. Is it ok for me to change it out without going to the dealership. And does it need to be program.
Just had mine replaced at the dealer, 2017, 86000 miles. Not cheap. Here's my question: where the original ones faulty causing these failures at low mileage ? And did they change the design on the replacement ones so they'd last longer. Thanks.
Mine is at 120,000 and just had issues. Took to a transmission guy and he said i needed to replace it. But i dont wanna replace it with garbage parts. @caingarcia99

Would this fix the fluttering transmission issues on these? I have a 2018 4x4 Titan that when cold shifts fine. After 10 min when shifting from 3-4 gear I get rpm flutter….? It stays like this . 118k
@@berserk916 sounds like a shift solenoid going out. This should fix it. There should be a code. Run it on a dealers comp or at least a good commercial comp

I asked about the valve body, and they said that he won't fix it because of the rough shifting. Do you work in Jacksonville?
I have the same problem. 1,2,3rd gear and that’s it. 70k miles early 2017 model titan. Getting a different diagnostic in every shop. Do I have to change the speed sensors as well? Also they tell me it’s a special one time only programming valve body. But in this video, you did not do anything other than just change the valve body. Can you tell me if these parts can be bought rebuilt? Thank you.
@@gustavocastillo9476 I had to purchase a new valve body. I think they had to flash it too maybe, but definitely new valve body. Almost 99% sure. About $2k-$2.5k. I went to the dealership.
Got 2006 Titan AT check light .. hardly has any power taking off… then picks up Speed after a few seconds. Reverse has power. Would it be my valve body and tcm ??

The shuddering issue is due to valve body ? I did drain / refill 2 times. The fluid was nasty. The shudder got less noticeable after a couple days. I will keep draining and see what happens. Then we shop for valve body 😮
@@gplata22 alot of times a tranny flush and some hard shifting by flooring it will help smooth out the shudder. From what i can tell the shutter is caused by a shift solenoid kicking on and of a bunch or sticking partially engaged

Any guess on why i would be having issues getting in reverse specifically after warming up? All other gears shift fine and when i get it in reverse its strong. When i put it in reverse it acts like its in nuetral, give it some gas itll catch reverse and acts completely normal.
@@channinglittleman6542 we have not run into that issue yet. It could be either a seal leaking or reverse solenoid going out. Have you gone to the dealer and had it put on the computer?
@@smallengineguys when it's in reverse it's fine though so fine the guy at the dealer did a burn out on accident trying to give it a little gas to get it in reverse lol
@@smallengineguys I have the same exact issue on my 07. After revving R to engage it works even if I stop and go in reverse. Can this be a weak solenoid? How can I check a seal leak? I'm planning on dropping the pan and look for debris in the magnet and change oil. There are no codes in the TCM.

The p0720 code your getting is the speed sensor witch control your TCM. If your truck is going in to geart 1-2-3 and high reaves you have to replace the TCM witch its built-in to the value body part#31705X100B . That's what he is showing in the video
I have this exact issue. I replaced the speed sensor in the tail shaft housing, since that was the DTC I got. Reassembled and still won’t go past third. Dealer just diagnosed it as the valve body was bad. I’d rather swap it on my lift at my home shop, but they quoted 2.3 hrs to program the TCM and BCM…. Is that required? Thank you!!!
Your video is very helpful. I wish I was closer to your shop. Im down near Fort Meyers. I believe I could do this at home, however what should I be getting for hours at a shop? Outside of parts how much is your labor to do this valve body swap.

@@gustavocastillo9476 I never saw that it could get rebuilt. I bought mine on ebay, was new. 1600. Those parts are not cheap. Was charged 200 to replace it. 1800 total.

@@4wheel4life2981 read codes. Make sure its the issue. Sometimes its other codes putting it in limp mode. Sometimes if you reset the codes it will drive normal till the code pops again.
@smallengineguys well the P0720 code was the only one that came up and it said 3 different versions, permanent, stored, and pending...they said I have to go to the dealership to wipe the permanent codes?
@@luisarevalo342 it was oem nissan and usually with other vehicles we have to rest the computer codes some trannys we have to program but this worked without doing anything else.

@@nightvisiontv2048 call your dealer and based on the VIN, they can look up the vehicles “in service date“. That is what determines the warranty start period.

2019 titan 2wd , my shifter faster sometimes, getting in six gears at 35 miles and dropping rpm until 1000 , only doing at morning time, after get hot, running perfectly, any idea if this have relation with bad valve bady or solenoid? Thanks

Could it be valvebody with no codes? rpm goes up and down when warm, with acceleration
maybee but could be bad clutches in the auto tranny or low fluid as well.

I just replaced my valve body with the exact same problem. I went to OP Nissan service and replaced the valve body. Now runs great.

You said this transmission is bullet proof . Did you come across the shudder fix ? Or is it just a TCU update needed.

Could bouncy rpm and shudder from 2nd to 3rd gear be a valve body problem or would that be something like torque converter?

@@channinglittleman6542 yeah again if its a bad seal it needs a tranny. If its a solenoid it needs a valve body but the valve body should send a code.

Yes. Still has a permanent code P0720 out put speed sensor. But no check engine light

not usually this one was fine after replacement. sometimes the codes need to be reset.

is the valve body the main reason why mine wont shift from 1st gear up the RPM's climb but dont shift

Yes. Check your codes though. It should say in the codes. If there are to many codes it goes in limp mode. Try resetting the comp first

The tranny in my 2017 Titan puked so the dealership replaced it under warranty. Same problem - limited speed and very erratic operation.
