- Cara Mund, 24, Miss America 2018, wrote a letter calling for her resignation, citing bullying and intimidation by the chairwoman.
Gretchen Carlson was hired to stop the lewd and sexist comments; not turn it into the Gretchen Carlson Pageant.
The fact that they are publicly taking off the 75,000 scholarship for talking to the board about this is only one clue as to how she must have been silencing her behind the scenes...
I absolutely believe Cara. I feel when someone’s spirit is right or wrong, I know it. I feel she is full of integrity and class.
Cara never even said what the issue was ... it can't be that bad if she didn't even mention what the issue was.
I hope that judgements are made based on facts and not spirits. I just watched a story where a young lady lied accusing two young men of rape. The men lost everything for 2 years until she confessed. They simply took her word with no investigation.
She did say what the issues were in the letter she wrote. She said that she was bullied and not allowed to talk about what she her cause was. She was told what to where and was barred from attending certain events. She said was asked to be a walking endorsement for Gretchen Carlson.

Coming back to this after what just happened with Miss USA and Miss Teen USA. Deja vu. It’s interesting to look back and see that Cara’s bravery and speaking out lead to real changes 💖 Even Cara was belittled and called a liar for her letter but she goes down in history as the brave Miss America that spoke out, and in doing so revamped the Miss America pageant. While everyone is questioning Noelia and UmaSofia, no doubt they will go down as the brave Miss USA and Miss Teen USA whose actions revamped the Miss USA / Miss Teen USA leadership. 🙏🏻 Love all these brave women.

She was extremely specific in her letter. I think that she wasn't given enough time in this interview to enumerate everything that happened. Also, it's probably hard to go over all of that stuff on the spot. :)
You are concentrating on the word "bully." There are laws in the state of New Jersey against workplace harassment. It's quite detailed. READ IT!
It’s going to be interesting to see what happens. If she has truly been bullied, I hope that she and all others receive proper justice.
It’s been a really weird year. I competed forever ago and the pressures from some board members certainly feel like/most definitely were bullying. I will say that there’s still tons of good in the program though, it’s just that they really needed a change of leadership for so long.

The Miss America pageant needs to go back to how it use to be... All this new PC crap has ruined it for most people. It takes hard work to look good, these girls shouldn't be shamed because they want to look pretty.

Cara went into detail about her treatment by the MAO in the 5-page letter, which is readily accessible by the public. 3. This is literally the first interview Cara has given about the matter, and she had to violate her MAO contract to have the opportunity to share her experiences. To place someone in a position where they are at risk of losing their job and possible legal ramifications for speaking the truth is the definition of silencing.
Tobias, Cara Mund wrote a 5-page letter outlining her mistreatment. She's been quite clear about it. Today was her first appearance on TV since the allegations broke. We are all teamCara. She is NOT the first person who has been bullied by Gretchen Carlson or Regina Hopper.

If you read the 5-page letter it states very clearly what has been happening and how she has been treated. A simple search here in UA-cam or Google will find the letter and many other interviews of former Miss Americas supporting Cara.

The only reason Gretchen Carlson eeked out a win to be Miss America is because they threw out the interview scores where Carlson placed 10th - Maya Walker, Miss Colorado should have been crowned. Known fact -
RachelDavisMatthews I don’t know about who should have won. But I do know that someone wrote a book about the year that Gretchen Carlson won. He was a judge in the preliminary competitions, and he referred to Gretchen as “Miss Piggy”. Said he was never so shocked in his life as when she won.
wait. I highly dispute this accusation. Prelim interview scores are never nor have ever been announced nor discounted. Note that I did not state on stage prelim interview they used to have. The only thing, concerning prelim interview has been the scholarship awarded for the best prelim interview by a non finalist. Also, you fail to realize that not only did Gretchen win a prelim that year, whereas Maya did not, but perhaps more importantly is that in those years talent was still so very heavily weighed towards both the prelim composite score carried over into finals, but also talent counted towards 40% of the total final night scores. and lastly, the prelim evening gown scores not until the early 2000's, were EVER EVER released nor was a post competition overall evening gown winner announced. So knowing that Gretchen clearly had, as with all all other prelim winners of those years, a HUGE advantage going into finals, she then also- i would guess, even as incredible Maya was in her Night and Day rendition, have been awarded a higher score for that insanely difficult violin piece by Sarazat. I have no doubt that Maya showed us her ability to scat in her talent, but nephew who first starting violin lessons when he was 3 and went on to one of only 4 theater arts/prep boarding schools in the country on a partial scholarship watched with his mouth wide open the entire time when I showed him what Gretchen did finals night. Its REALLY a very demanding, & hard piece. We the public also will never know the final piece of the puzzle that you seem troubled by, and that being how Gretchen and Maya were scored and in comparison with all the others in the prelim evening gown, which whether it seems fair or not, WAS an undisclosed part of the prelim composite score that in those years carried over into finals night. Please prove me wrong with a link to the press release in which the MAO announces a) that the prelim interview scores were discarded, b) when and why this decision was made and c) most importantly, why the change wasn't announced live on stage to the convention hall audience, the tv viewers and thus also to the contestants and state pageant directors themselves. I am seriously calling you out on the veracity of this allegation, since I am friends with the 2 people who were the state of Delaware pageant directors until Kathleen Slavin took over. And this is as close to crying wolf as I have ever heard.
If the 2019 Miss America contest which was just on this evening was an indication of where it's headed, I won't be watching anymore. That was the worst pageant I can ever remember seeing and I've been watching for about 50 years.

Take a look at the recent 2019 Miss America crowning and see what a mess these board members have made of the entire ceremony.
Be specific. What did they say? You, as Miss America, are an employee by contract. If you have a personal conflict, you should go to Gretchen directly and work it out. Giving advice on what to say isn't bullying or silencing, especially if she's in a position of authority. :/ I hope this all works out for you. I hope you have success in your schooling. I love that you can stand up for what's right, but the lack of detail on how they bullied or silenced you makes me a little skeptical.

this isn't the first time people had something bad to say about this new leadership so obviously something is wrong snd needs to be done not to mention the new leader is from the 80's so of course her ideas will be conservative and rub people the wrong way something about the new leadership reminds me of miss congeniality bad girl who went to jail at the end for jealousy
