Visited the Rio Miño but did not visit one of the most famous examples of Romanesque architecture in the area? Santo Estevo de Ribas de Miño. Said to be work of Maestro Mateo, the same man who worked on the Pórtico da Gloria, the famous doorway into the Catedral de Santiago de Compostela. Maybe next time.
Sorry to say that is the Parador. Monasterio de Santo Estevo located high in the hillsides of the Rio Sil. Very near to San Pedro de Rocas. Nice video and I have added it to my collection of Videos covering this area.
Wow! What a beautiful place! No, we didn't travel so up to the north. We stopped in Belesar. What a shame! Thank you for the advice! We have a new reason to come back to this amazing area!
They are not as unknown as you can think. In fact, the Ribeira Sacra area is now fashionable and a very trendy spot to spend a weekend for Spanish people. Do you mean the "monasterio de San Pedro de Rocas"? we don't find another "monasterio de Santo Estevo apart from the one of the Parador.
