- One of my favorites of the 'Super Friends' series, featuring Argentinian pianist Jorge Dalto. I uploaded a track from this CD some years ago, the opener is one of the best, featuring George Benson on guitar. I found this on CD back around '86 at Turtles Records & Tapes. I also got their first LP 'Rendezvous' around that same time.
Tracklist:
1. Nightline 0:00
2. Winds Of Love 6:25
3. Song For Adela 11:06
4. Pina Colada 16:25
5. I'll Miss You Forever 21:39
6. Manteca 27:46
Bass - Anthony Jackson, Will Lee
Drums - Buddy Williams, Steve Gadd
Flute - Dave Valentin
Guitar - George Benson, Jeff Mironov
Keyboards - Jorge Dalto
Saxophone - Jay Beckenstein
My girlfriend used to get so irritated everytime we passed a quality CD shop, and I would tell her to go ahead, and spend hours browsing and listening, only for her to FETCH me much later😄. Many years have past and CD shops have mostly disappeared. My wife now struggles to get me away from this channel. Thanks for making the discovery of music so absorbing. This is a magnificent CD, with Gerorge, Jay and Steve in the mix !! Thanks a mil for the upload.
Encore un groupe rare, avec des musiciens connus pourtant, le grand George Benson a la guitare, et Anthony Jackson a la basse
I had the vinyl LP "Rendezvous" from the time it was released in the '80s until the mid-'90s. Same artwork style on the cover so it must've been the same Japanese artist! I remember that George Benson guested on that album too (repaying the favor, so to speak, since Dalto played keyboards on Benson's bestselling BREEZIN' and IN FLIGHT albums; Ronnie Foster played keyboards on those recordings as well).
I remember that trumpeter Tom Browne & saxman David Sanborn were on "Rendezvous" also.
😃Kyle, I saw JD at the 1984 kool jazz fest in saratoga ny Jorge finished his show by breakdancing inside/out
on the grand piano, at one point playing the keys with his feet and plucking and the inside with his fingers fists and hand.
truly, truly one of the most unforgettable moments i has ever witnessed. Have a GREAT day !!

😳😳 как вам повезло!!! 🥳✌
In my opinion Your channel is simply the best! Real vault of smooth jazz from 80's and 90's.
This is my very first time hearing this. What a treat!! I just was listening to affirmation and realized Jorge Dalto was on the electric piano. A few UA-cam clicks later I'm here. Amazing. Thank you 🤯
I'm supposed to be in bed for work but you have me rolling another one haha
Oh thank you, remember that great album, I love this Manteca version😍👍
Nice album, another artist I heard on smooth jazz radio (San Francisco's KBLX) in the day, but never listened to his albums. I also just found "Listen Up" here on this site, also a fine album of this genre. Upbeat jazz, killer tickling of the ivories, and of course anything George Benson (who once attended a jazz concert in Phoenix with the rest of our audience, the artist was I believe Euge Groove) does is touched by an angel of music.
wonderful, short but perfectly formed
Thanks KJC, you are always the best 👍
Прекрасно!!! 🥳
sweet improv... Trim's You Tube.
Nightline sure does sound reminiscent of Baby Be Mine
do you know who did the artwork for this album?
