This is a review of the Zeiss Standard Speed mk II lenses from the early 80's, made in West Germany.
The set we are reviewing here is a 5 lens set, composed of the 16mm, 24mm, 32mm, 50mm, and 85mm.
This set also has a close focus modification on the widest of the 3 lenses, allowing for incredibly close focus.
We'll look at the size of the lenses, technical specifications, cost, flaring of the lenses, and real examples of footage.
If you're interested in the films from some of the example footage, check out UNSEEN the short film below.

Hi Allen, thanks for the nice video. Wich RF to PL mount adapter do you use on your komodo x? Thanks!

Thanks! I actually use 2 different ones. I have the Wooden Camera RF to PL, and I also have the RED RF to PL with the rear variable ND. The RED mount is way more solid built, but lenses with longer flange distance are too big and cannot be used because there is not enough clearance (like the Standard Speed 32mm). It’s not the biggest problem for me, but sometimes it’s a pain if I want to use 2 wide angle lenses for the same shoot. Hope that helps!

I’ve been curious about the standard speeds, thanks for sharing this! What are your thoughts on the 24mm?

I’ve started to use it more lately, and I enjoy the distortion and close focus a lot! They all are super pretty, but it’s a nice wide angle without going too wide.
