basically, give out all the land right privileges, build town halls and state houses and (now with new gov reforms) go down the path of centralising every single state you make ^^
Fully state only provinces who state you are totally under control, this way you can always centralize and thus decrease gov capacity cost.

At 20:28 you could have waited 1% to have 40% loyalty with burghers and then when selling it would get you to 60% and you would have got the extra reduced dev cost. The comment with "OH LUDIII YOU ARE NOT BEING EFFICIENT" you were looking for.

Espionage gives you siege ability AE impact Vassalization acceptance and Advisor cost, also with the cavalry combat ability policy it makes it not bad.

06:05, you can actually wait until December 11th to set your rivals and then you don't run into the problem of them suddenly picking up a string one after you've set them.
All you have to do to make it work is embargo somebody, that does a same-day referesh of your CBs.

It definitely looks like an American helmet, but there's some random Swiss or Czech pattern of helmet that looks really similar to that one that the Germans *did* use, so maybe thats where the confusion comes from on the part of the company you ordered that from.

21:55 In this case you can also declare on the Teutons and keep one province occupied. Wait for Poland and Danzig to peace out and then you can get opm Teutons with lots of cores as vassal. Just one unit in that area from 1460 onwards is enough while you fight other wars. Because thats when the Danzig event triggers. Poland and Danzig will even help if you got to siege a fort. Just go sure that you re first in one teuton province. Thats all you need.

Hussite Prussia, best Prussia. In my book, Protestant only beat out Hussite in 1.34, but Hussite still has great military bonuses.
Hussite allows easy conversion to protestantism once it spawns, and can ofc remove the emperorship from you allowing you to also dismantle the empire.
Could very well try it out this run.
I would find it funny an HRE run where you try to make all of Europe part of the HRE. Like, finding a way to do as big an HRE as possible.

I've tried to form prussia, i managed to vassalize stettin ad woglatz, and conquered danzig and konigsberg but i have a shitton off debts and i have yet to imcorporate renasciance, oh and also i ivestigated tech 6 in the three aspects

I like espionage... I generally don't have manpower or military issues, i like the extra siege and the fast network build... So i pick espionage + offensive and just melt forts at a really early game(what makes me spend even less manpower)... with prussia i had games when i did capture castles faster than land without castles... So i think is good in some playstyles... I also like to build network in key nations, so they get less AE... The biggest problem are the policies
My man really just said espionage is bad when it has diplomat, siege ability, advisor cost reduction and faster spy networks leading to more siege ability and lower AE in the target country. My man’s really underestimating espionage.
@@liamreitsma5312 Different people have different experiences. I mostly play multiplayer with absolute murderhobos for friends, so my military is making money to subsidise them while they win my wars for me. By that logic, economic and trade ideas *are* military ideas, and I like that logic XD

I'm pretty sure you have a chance to flip all of your provinces to protestantism when it spawns if you go hussite, at least I'm pretty sure that was possible in previous patches.

Hi Ludi! Just have a doubt regarding the "Birth of a New City" event. Do you know what are the requirements for it to be activated or its a random even that may appear anytime in the game? Also, would you know if there are any restrictions regarding where it happens? I've noticed that on my runs it occurs almost everytime on provinces that I have never developed or developed the least and wanted to be more sure on how to direct it to a specific province on my runs
it is the updated version of the old "prospering times" event. If you have at least 25 provinces and 1 stability then the event triggers on a random province which is not your capital in 20 years. If you don't have 25 provinces but you have innovativeness ideas, 3 stability and an artist advisor, you can trigger the event as well.

It feels like that prospering times events is scripted to target provinces that are like random islands or inhospitable desert. It should probably have a grassland/farmland requirement or require the provinces at already have like 8 dev

Mind you, Brandenburg -> Germany is bugged now. For some reason you lose militarization mechanic after forming Germany and taking another government reform. It just disappears.
Something I don't understand, would you suggest forming prussia later on to have acess to the brandenburg missions ? I noticed when forming prussia you lose access to the brandenburg ones.

Hey Ludi, I don't totaly agree with you about espionage ideas. AE is cool obviously, but seige ability and spy network construction car speed up a lot the seige time (avoiding your signature 700 days seige^^) plus the extra diplomat is good especialy in hre. And btw I just learned from the wiki that spy network reduce the AEon the nation your spying so thats a plus
I think you doged a bullet with not getting the Ansbach succession. It seems to still be bugged, because you allways get the 15AE even if you finish the mission in time.
I completed the mission to take 6 Franconian lands and the game still made me give it all up...
to avoid the problem of the 4 loans, could you pay 2 of them and rest with 3 loans in early game that could prevent you to have more interest than 1%?
espionage ideas are good
-20% AE + another -30% from 100 spynetwork
10% siege abilty + another 20% from 100 spynetwork
then a diplomat and -15% advisor cost is really nice
then +15 vassalization acceptance for diplomatic expansion
and the abilty to claim states is pretty good in addition to making all of the covert actions 20% cheaper
policies it also got some decent once

İn the past you have uploaded a video that you get german empire borders in 1515 and you promised that you would get 1942 germany borders in the next video but you didn't because the next patch came. Can you do it now?
That Ansbach succession mission is actually one of the worst missions in the game in my opinion, because you have no control over when you get the PU on Ansbach. Also, timed missions in general are cancer, I want to do things at my own pace.
Aristo is good for innovativeness as well. The AI doesn't like taking it.

i also got PU with burgundy as emperor once.
it was very lucky though.
austria emperor died without an heir, i got emperorship as brandenburg and then charles of burgundy died while they were rivaling france so i got PU as HRE emperor

I'd recommend you visit the actual dracula castle, which is poenari castle. Bran castle is a literally tourist trap, dracula never lived there, he has literally nothing to do with bran castle aside from having the thing as a border castle to control taxes. He lived in poenari castle, which is mostly rubble now due to lack of tourism and interest in the place by the government sadly

Man, espionage is one of strongest idea in game. It not gives you -20% AE, it gives 50% because 30% from 100 spy network is just casual thing with espionage. Also siege ability 30% is op, ESPECIALLY for you and your 81% sieges xD
Faster favors, higher vassilize acceptance, claiming whole states, bonus diplomat and -15% advisor cost, also -0,2 montly corruption and 33% resistance for enemy spy network, which make enemies spies literally useless. These all are over average. Rest is useless, ok, but don't claim this idea is bad, because it's not.

I restarted to play at eu4 after a break of 3 years and i need to ask: its normal to have 3k income and 500k troops by 1600, just playing without mindmaxing as i used to do? Its my impression or this game just became so easy that is enough not to lose 2 war to be the first greatpower in just 100 years
