It may be thick but doubt it is AR400 or anything near that. I had the grapple and had a cylinder leak after 6.months. you are correct about the lack of stops.
I have about (L4610) the same size tractor with a LA850 loader. I have (thanks to you) decided to go with a lighter grapple. I also like the clam shell style grapple because of the back dragging feature with the upper grapple arm. One thing i am concerned with is the open back of most grapples. Are you concerned when pucking up a pile of brush of a branch sticking thru and damaging a hydraulic line or front of your tractor? I actually have a few videos of me using the grapple to give you an idea of what I do with it. I’m pretty careless to be honest, and never have had an issue with anything coming through into my grill or the hoses. You can find those videos on my kubota tractor playlist!
You nailed it on the weight - that's why you don't see a lot of grapples on smaller tractors. My skid steer has a 4,000 lift capacity so this would work well. If I were you, I'd keep this one with the weight restriction - lighter in weight will translate into more flimsy. Good video - thanks!
It does eat up a lot of my lift capacity, but it also keeps me in check. With a lighter grapple I’d be able to lift heavier logs which could lead to a tipping situation.

Pretty simple, turn the tractor off and cycle the valve to release all the pressure!

THe single lid allows you to grasp more centered ( always good for a tractor) plus a stronger hold, and you can back rake with it.

I got a MTL grapple and it is much better built than Titan. Also got a brush cutter from Rut Mfg. Both American made.

take a look at everything attachments. stay with the single lid.
Why the single lid vs split lid in your opinion?

Those are cheap Chinese crap. Titan Implements (now Ironcraft) is much better quality.
I do not disagree of the origin of this grapple, however, at the time of purchase, it was all I could afford.
