An outstanding example of kindness. A dear friend of mine had Alzheimer's (she passed last year) The ad is accurate about the fact that old memories are the strongest & newer ones are forgotten quickly. And it's wonderful to see an older person in an ad. People dismiss seniors like they're outdated nothings. Thank you for uploading it.
I’m so sorry you lost your friend. You are so right about seniors being dismissed as outdated nothings. I’m a67 year old who has become invisible and devalued. It is frustrating and sad.
@@idahomountainlover754 1 thing I have learned as I aged is kind of a "screw em' " attitude. I'm grey but I dye my hair bright red; I wear whatever I want; I wear a ton of bracelets. At a doc's waiting room another senior asked "Don't all those bracelets get in your way when you clean?" LOL Nope. Be outrageous if you want. Stay well sweet lady. (Btw-I'm 67 also)
I'm sobbing so hard I can hardly see the keys. My father is 86 and he's pulling away from the family. He wants to be alone all the time and we don't know what to do. I wish I had an old pickup to bring him back. Anyway, this is a beautiful commercial. Thanks
Have you tried playing his favorite music from the old days? Or sing with him? Sometimes it brings them back for a while. I hope it works. For both of you 🙂
It's also an example of loving a family member who is struggling with memory loss and how to show love and kindness to them instead of letting them sit alone in a dark room.
This hits me hard. My father bought a brand new 1972 Suburban. I was only 4 at the time, so I literally grew up with it. The hard hitting part is, it was the exact color and my mother is 84 with Alzheimer's. 😢
I am 70 and my beloved grandmother, Della Missouri, had advanced dementia. I am also an RN. This commercial made me weep, it was so touching. Thank you for sharing it.
Lot more than a Chevy commercial-a moving life story as a gift from Chevrolet. PS my dad had a 1957 Chevrolet, Whte over Torquoise like color. Dave in Naples, Florida
I got chills and teary eyed over this. Beautiful commercial Chevrolet, I commend you on your support to mental health and dementia patients. I'm sorry for saying it again, but this was absolutely beautiful. Thank you.
This is much more than a Commercial. It is a brilliantly created slice of life. For anyone who has elderly parents, or who have lost their parents far too soon...it is bittersweet.. taking your emotions to the edge....and John Denver's beautiful song pushes you the rest of the way.....KUDDOS to the people behind this. The actors are all perfect in the roles they play, as well!
Commercial or not , this is one of the most beautiful heartfelt things I've ever seen ! And I'm almost 70 , have travelled extensively , and seen a lot , but , nothing this powerful , warm , and rendering . Excellent , pure fucking genius ! Thank you . 🙂
I play therapeutic harp in a Residential Aged Care facility, and what that girl did by taking out Gramma in the Chevy, is kinda like what he music can do for people who are otherwise "lost". Thank you, from Australia, Chevrolet, for one of the best short movies ever made (yes, I know it's a commercial, and I hope Chevy gave the marketing team a HUGE bonus for this one!). And thank you to Burnet Family 1 for sharing it. Should have a 3 Kleenex warning though!
My father died 3 months ago at the age of 88, he had Alzheimer’s. He almost always knew my mom. They were married for 68 years…a lifetime. They had a true love story. This hit home hard. 😢
I’m not crazy about commercials, but this one is one of the few that stands out and brings up all kinds of emotions. It’s wonderful and draws you in. Beautiful.
That was probably the most beautiful thing I have watched this Christmas. My Father has dementia and he loves a drive out with me, it’s one of the few times he ever comes back and recognises the world around him, usually telling me I’m going the wrong way lol. Thank you for this. ❤
This just made me cry , I just lost my baby sister to this horrible disease November 29, 2024 she was only 66 yo. I was her caretaker for 15 years. This disease has the longest death sentence. I miss her so. ❤
Wow!!!! Mum passed away in 2023 after living with dementia for 8 years. Often, out of complete confusion, she would just start singing something she used to know and she would be back for a while. The Chevy, the cartridge player, the drive-in theater are all so real to someone living in a confused state - so appropriate and meaningful to use them in this beautiful commercial.
Tears....in my 60s, the song, the tape...that could be me....well done❤ what a gift to have your memories come back, for her, for her husband for her family on christmas day, wow! I can't help but think about the writing team, sitting around the table, Bringing this together! They really nailed it.
Part of what makes this a tear jerker is 1. Most of us can't give our elderly this lovely of a home and 2. Jogging the memory a bit and "everything is back to normal" or even just coming out of catatonia his isn't the way Alzheimer's works
Thanks for this commercial, Chevy!!!! Better than the fridge wrapped in a red bow any day!!! Perfect! Happy Holidays to all, everywhere!!!!! 💙💙💙🙏🏻🌎☮️🕊🎄
Made me cry. A commercial… No question that quality products with quality commercials go a long way to making good for people. Even better, top this off with excellent employee pay and benefits. Now THAT would be something cry (happy tears!) about!
Wow, thank you Chevy for showing corporations how to drive impact authentically through lifes lessons - that was as authentic as it gets - I lived it. Thank you!
This is great. HOWEVER, I was in high school when my fave, John Denver, sang Sunshine on My Shoulder; I am not old and feeble like this lady is portrayed. I still work and support myself. My dad is 92; HE is getting feeble like this dear lady.
Great commercial. My Grandfathers last vehicle was a Chevy suburban. He had a stroke in eighty three.Took me awhile to comment I was crying so much.Chevy man forever.❤
I never thought I would cry over a Chevy commercial. This was simply beautiful.
Me too.
We don’t even have Chevy’s in Australia, I’m not a weepy person, but it made my eyes water. Bah humbug 😂 Merry Christmas
same here, greetings from Austria/Europe
You’re not crying over a Chevy commercial, it’s the fact that the story is a very human one 😢
Me too!
An outstanding example of kindness.

Old memories are buried the deepest in our brains...so that's part of why. 🎉

I did try with music every day for one hour …all the old songs ….my husband liked it and even started singing 🎶 Good luck 🍀
Music from his generation.
How’s your dad?
That's not a commercial, it's a beautiful movie! ❤
It's also an example of loving a family member who is struggling with memory loss and how to show love and kindness to them instead of letting them sit alone in a dark room.
@brendareed5050 You are so right! It happens in so many families and we have to try our hardest for a glimmer of light.
These Grandparents and parents are so lucky that they have family.
Don’t ever ignore family.
Blessed

Sending you hugs, honey. We are the same age. ❤.
Good Lord! I’m crying over a Chevy commercial!
Heard that...same here. Merry Christmas ✝️🇺🇸
I, too, started to cry when John Denver started to sing. That's one amazing commercial.
That wasn’t just Chevy - it was the brilliance of some incredibly talented and creative minds working their magic; that was, Commonwealth//McCann!!!
Would you know who the actress was playing the granddaughter?
As in McCann Erickson?
I can't watch that without crying. One of the best commercials ever produced.
That’s my idea of a great love story
Making me cry on Christmas Eve
I know, right?
I am 70 and my beloved grandmother, Della Missouri, had advanced dementia. I am also an RN. This commercial made me weep, it was so touching. Thank you for sharing it.
Chevy nailed it with this one, it's absolutely beautiful!
We need more goodness like this! I held it together until John started singing. Completely lost it when grandma started singing with the song.
They got it right. Love is the reason for the season. A moment of love far outweighs anything else. This ranks as a 10/10 in my book.🙋♀️👍❤️🙏
Lost my mom 3 years ago. This just tore my heart right up! She was in to early stages of dementia when she passed. I miss her terribly!
Peace.
This commercial is beyond words...I'm glad she came around and it makes us think of our folks who are gone now❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
WOW.....SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL
BEST COMMERCIAL EVER
Ditto ❤😢❤
Beautiful. My mom no longer knows me but I believe she feels the love …thank u for this 🇨🇦 ❤
I'm a Ford person thru and thru, I cried. Best Chevy commercial ever!! This goes along with the Loretta commercial a few years ago.
It doesn’t matter where in the world you are, I feel this beautiful Christmas add is for everyone. Heartbreaking and wonderful all in one ❤.
Lot more than a Chevy commercial-a moving life story as a gift from Chevrolet. PS my dad had a 1957 Chevrolet, Whte over Torquoise like color. Dave in Naples, Florida
Oh my God, the best commercial I’ve seen thank you Chevy and I am a Ford man.
So sweet. Just the perfect way to start Christmas Eve Day! Crying from happiness and sadness at the same time.
Me too. My dear sweet Ukranian mother died from Alzheimers.
I got chills and teary eyed over this. Beautiful commercial Chevrolet, I commend you on your support to mental health and dementia patients. I'm sorry for saying it again, but this was absolutely beautiful. Thank you.
This really knocked me back a step, it was so good. Well done to those who put this all together for us to enjoy.
I saw my dear mother in that granny. What a joy to see her come alive after seeing the old places of her youth. Wow!❤
That's a wonderful Christmas present from Chevy. Thank you so much. I miss my grandma so much. Merry Christmas everyone!!!😢🎉😊❤❤
AWESOME ‼️‼️♥️♥️‼️‼️😭😭😭😭🥳🤩🎄🎄❣️♥️❣️♥️❣️
Lots of tears but hands down my new favorite commercial.🎄 Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
I literally sobbed, ugly sobbed for literally 5 minutes! Beautifully done.

I'm balling like a baby. Commercials are not same anymore.❤
Great job, Chevrolet! The American people want more of it.

You had to ruin your heartfelt comment with the “F” word. Shame on you. Get a thesaurus.
@@gingergobble5539 no thanks .

@kevino4846 I dont care . Live ur life , I'll live mine .
Most beautiful commercial I've ever seen 🥰

I've seen videos where alzheimers patients respond very well to music. Especially the music that most appealed to them.
Incredible I cried amazing young talent for Chevy.😢
Wow !!a great Job Chevy very good touched my heart❤

Beautiful commercial with so much compassion and joy I'm sure this touched many hearts great job Chevy
The combination of a wonderful old automobile and an old favorite song would be good therapy for anyone. Lovely vid.

I'm so very sorry for your loss...I pray she's at peace ❤
💜💜💜
I lost it at the opening bars to John Denver’s “Sunshine on my shoulders.”
Unbelievable! Thank you for the memories and the tears.❤
Sobbing ... especially seeing the eight track cartridge, I had a John Denver tape too.❤
Wow!!!!

I love how it's a car commercial that never mentions it's a commercial. Love it.
I remember the Chevy commercials back in that day would say... "Baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, and Chevrolet!"
Give the writers of this ad a huge award! Next to the movie The Notebook, this is so moving. Way to go Chevy!
I can’t even see to read messages as my eyes are wet with tears. Beautiful heartwarming wonderful! Merry Christmas!🎄
I guess a reminder to help those with any form of dementia - the old memories stick around. At least a small bit of hope.
Now I know why I love my Chevys! (67 Camaro SS350- 50 years i've owned her, 90 chvy truck-20 years, 98 blazer since new)
BEAUTIFUL & SWEET!! Great job Chevy ♥️🤗🙏
I miss my grandparents every single second of every single day! Never take them for granted. They love you no matter what.
Bawling crying cause I know what this feels like I had a dad that suffered with dementia. Thank God for the good days he did have.

STOP IT! I’m not crying! Having lost my dad to dementia this really hits home
I have never seen a commercial that made me cry , Yes we all get old
Chevy got it right with this one! It is a beautiful story of love & family.

I love this! People who have had strokes and dementia often respond to music.

I kept remembering how the 8 track player always ate the tape.
But it really tugs at my heartstrings.
