I use brake grease on my slides and the slide pins too! Just be sure not to get any on the rotor and if you do blast it off with brake kleen. Really good video!
I have replaced mine and the brake pad inside fell out UGH just got them on too. Not sure what the deal is. The rotor seems far away when I try to tighten the bolts and bolts seem too short??
I actually bought these very brake pads and you can just watch the video and tell these are not the pads for the bike, so what happens is they will wear and the top half will come together and you want have any brakes anymore once it wears the pads by half of each pad, the entire pads need to be on the disk plates not just half the pads.
Hey David thanks for the vid. Just wondering what type screws those are and the length. I lost mine on a ride. Now trying to put brake assembly back but not sure what the length of those two screws are. Thanx
ahh man thats the worst but I don't know off the top of my head and after doing research nothing came up I would take that piece the bolt goes into to a hardware store and try those to see what fits. It wouldn't hurt to try to measure the depth with the caliper on the swing arm too. Sorry I don't have an exact answer for you! good luck man!
Hello. My brake caliper bolts fell out when I was riding and when I went to look at it one of my brake pads fell out. Can you please help me. I have no idea how to reinstall the brake pad.
yeah it is the same thing just one less step you might have to push the piston back in with a screw driver so you can get the side with the 2 holes out from the housing but you should be good!
We have a smaller SSR I believe a 110 with the same brake assembly. The brake is extremely loose. The fluid level is fine, but the brake does not close on the disk. How do I fix this?
nukaetron2000 did you change the disc on the brake that could be the wrong size or the pads are extremely wore down I don’t think the brakes would be different on the bikes
Absolutely! It happens when someone or during shipping the brake lever gets pulled shutting the pads and getting what seems stuck! Get a flat blade screwdriver with a bigger Handel for leverage. Place on the Cylinder and pry it back open! Good luck
@@davidarmenta4812 I've done that but the problem is the pad on the piston side has fallen out and I can't get it to stay in place when I put the disc back on any tips please?
hey i bought an ssr 125 fully auto theres no dipstick on the plug i went on ebay they all seem to be different lengths can u do me the favor and measure the actuall length so i can order one
look at 5.55 on this video and you can see that the pads dont cover the disk plates almost a 3rd of the pad will not make contact and that percentage will meet each other and then you want have any breaks for the back cause the two pads are hitting each other.
Can anyone tell me what size bolts I need for my front brake caliper? It came apart when I was riding. I'm not sure if it's a Allen bolt or what. I have a DBX20 Xpro 125cc pitbike.
Him saying the worse thing you can do is ride with out back brakes. Me thinking how I bought by bike with out back pads and have rode it a couple of times
Anther new SSR How to video! I'm trying to make them more frequent! all of my friends now have pit bikes so things might get interesting! But here it is How to put lights on your pit bike! goo.gl/immxeu thank you guys for the love and support
hmm that is strange I double checked my link and it says these were the exact ones I purchased it seems no one else has had an issues with them I would try to return them for sure it sounds like a QC issue.
@@davidarmenta4812 noooooo hes right, ive only rode my bike 7 times since i bought them and the breake pads are half down and the top of the pads that doesn't touch the disk plates is meeting together so i dont have any breaks for the back. the pads must be real cheap and the like the originals. the pads have be all on the disk or whats the point of having the breaks.??

Thank you! I just spent 3 hrs trying to put my rear brak back together. I was trying to put that clip in upside down. Dangit bobby!!!!

Thanks for the video man, didnt put loctite the first time i took them off and my bolts came off while riding.

how do you measure the brake pads and break levers and brake tubes to order them online?
When I try to push my piston in on my bike it comes back out and won’t stay in what is causing this
What is keeping the inside brake pad from being pushed out by the piston? I can't get the clip to retain it.
Same have you found anything out
At 2 minutes in that silver tube thing in the caliper I pushed like half an inch out so I can’t take out the retaining pin what can I do
I need a little help i tried to put it together but the inside pad keeps falling out of the socket when I ride any help?
+Austin Page ahh make sure your retaining bracket is in place it's the silver thin metal piece
Hi, it vas very helpfull. Thanks, Peter from Hungary
Hey, my back brake does not work, anywhere I can get a new back break setup?
usually eBay is solid for that just make sure the calipers use the same mount or look the same as the ones you have now! good luck!

AppleSauceFTW yeah no problem press play on the video
David Armenta Is it the same steps because one break pad is still in but the other one is out?
David Armenta The right break pad with the 2 holes is still in but the other one is out
yeah it is the same thing just one less step you might have to push the piston back in with a screw driver so you can get the side with the 2 holes out from the housing but you should be good!
start the video at 1:32 and see if that is what yours looks like as of now then continue the steps.
Can you do a video of the front brake
It should be the same idea just bigger pads lol

nukaetron2000 did you change the disc on the brake that could be the wrong size or the pads are extremely wore down I don’t think the brakes would be different on the bikes
You might need to bleed air out of the brake lines
My front brake caliper came in shut tight, any tips??

@@davidarmenta4812 i need the lenght
is it the same with the sir 110
yeah man it should be idk why it wouldnt
Can we order the clip in the brakes mine never had it
I belive so you might want to look for the whole brake assembly but I think they are called the caliper retainer clip
@@davidarmenta4812 thank you!

Lynn Thompson was you able to change your rear brakes
Lynn Thompson I have a rfz 125cc I’m trying to change the rear brakes on it
where do i get the retaining pin
well it should of been with your brakes already but I'm sure you can look up the brand of your bike and the brake caliper retaining pin
Hey bro I accidentally squeezed the brake when the disk wasn't on and I was wondering how to open it back up
Dill grab a flat head screwdriver and pry her back open it will be hard try not to damage the pads !
no my friend actually unscrewed the brake pads and pushed away the things so the paps could fit
Keep it up 👍🏽👌🏾
That helped me so much
