Don't take the shield break moment away from vyQ lol
It also goes through platforms if you're very close, even if you don't hold down so it wouldn't have worked
A lot of times you guys could have done this: side-b forward and go backwards so you stay in place, mash b the fastest possible and press up-b before Yoshi ends up the animation of breaking the egg, Yoshi will do an up-b with the maximun high while being on the ground

I don't think so, the game probably consider it as a platform
He might go through the platform. I heard that if the platform is too close to where he down-b it will automatically go through

Reading these comments, I realize that most people don't understand how Yoshi's down-b works in ultimate, the fact that it forces you to go through platforms when very close to them like on the platform on the left
Btw, you can side-b, cancel it immediately and up-b out of it to gain good height anywhere
I think air dodge staling might be the reason for the inconsistencies?
they were so exited for the shield break that they forgot grounded DownB would have been way faster XD

I bit of functional-fixedness on your guys’ end haha. For the little lava spot (1:31) you can just simply roll past that.
Characters will versatile movesets make it hard for the creators to crack down on other exploitations of the stage. Created a Pac-Man stage, and it was tedious trying to make tricks that only is possible ONE way; his vast kit makes it hard (I don’t even think I succeeded). Although your alternatives are trickier, they make better content 🤭

Edit: oh wait, does Ultimate force Yoshi to phase through platforms while down b'ing. I thought it was only if you hold down on the way down during the move. It's been awhile and I dont have the game anymore to test it.

It goes through semi-solid platforms if very close (like here) or if holding down so it wouldn't have worked
