I recommend people to find a team of people at or near the same level as you but with different skill sets. if all you can draw is stick figures than work with someone that can take your stick figures and add detail and figure. find someone that can draw backgrounds and another that likes to color things in. together you can accomplish a short film. all it takes is talking to people and presenting an idea meaning actually have something drawn even if its stick figures and have an actual story or find someone that can write up a short story and use that to pitch to potential team. lots of people willing to do what they love for free especially if they can see you will deliver a finished product.

animating for me was hard, and then i started learning about view points and stuff in technology and how important it is use them whether its a single vp or double vp etc, so i recommend learning that when doing animation :p
