This is Kong v. Godzilla. Nuff said. Everyone has their preference. I love both. Each has their own place in my heart. These are the bourbons that prove who is a whiskey aficionado who has been there and back in bourbon. I can trust other peoples bourbon opinions when they have these on their shelves.
I was hoping you’d put these two against each other. It’s the battle of amazing value vs amazing value. KC is my favorite, but no way you can go wrong with either whiskey.

Oh, and the Aged&Ore flight kit is awesome. I brought four great bourbons to Hawaii just recently. Worked like a charm. Didn’t get busted at TSA (or by the wife lol)
These both are so good that it gives me an idea. Maybe I’ll do a bourbon skirmish between them for the next three or four days
Wow, I honestly thought you’d pick the knob creek. Not mad at the final results though. We stay heavily stocked with both bottles around these parts. 1920, knob creek single barrel, and rare breed are constantly in full rotation, especially since I’m terrible at finding cool stuff. I’ve never won anything in life other than the heart of my lady. Some may say I have bad “luck”. The closest thing to wining I’ve ever experienced is when got 2nd place in the featherweight category on your ufc competition.

Not a surprise for me because Rare Breed is my favorite mid shelf bourbon that often beats bourbons many times its price tag for me. I did think this one would be close though because Knob Creek puts out some killer single barrels. Like you said though, Rare Breed is just a more cohesive and complete package.
Matt. As you taste the whiskey, you should put your pinky under the glass so the audience is left in suspense as to which bourbon you are tasting. Just a suggestion. Love the series.
There are no wrong choices there. Not surprising they practically tied. And yes, Snickers Peanut Butter is still made. Yours in Colorado would be made elsewhere, but on the east coast it's made in my neighborhood and I smell Snickers, M&M's, and Dove all the time.
Need to put RB up against Peerless Double Oak. I just got a bottle and it is really great. RB is always on my shelf. Both are great bottles.

I mean can't go wrong with either one of them bad boys. My biases are torn on these. (Going to do a true blind now) but torn before I love both, great quality, great prices. Both worth every penny
KC NB & Rare Breed are my 2 favorite go to, especially KC SB Store Picks I have found locally at 2 different stores. And I prefer KC over RB only by a slight amount.

Two of my favorite bourbons! Tho the kjob creek single barrel 120 from last year didnt impress me over the reg knob creek 9 year. I mean it was better, but that much that it's worth the extra price?...I'm not sure. Cant wait to try this years tho! Rare breed is just my old faithful!

i must have gotten a bad bottle of RB. It was all leather, tobacco, oak with a hint of cherry. It was like licking your favorite leather couch. Which isn't what I look for in a food/beverage. I'll have to try another.

I am thoroughly enjoying the Rare Breed skirmishes. I am wondering what you're doing to your senses and pallet in between to help keep it a legitimate blind. I feel like everyday skirmishes with 1 being the same every day there's got to be some knowledge for what's in each glass. Not trying to poke holes in the content. I really enjoy it. I'm looking more as an inquiry to how I can keep my own blinds true blinds.

Been viewing your scrimmages between the bird and opponents. Decided to try the bird. I’m in Ohio, 750ml of R.B. costs almost as much as big bottles of Woodford Res or Makers. And it’s more expensive than Four Roses S.B. 750ml. It’s a little to early to crack it open right now but at the price/ml R.B. Lovers don’t have to worry about it Flying off the shelves and having shortages. The only way this bird is flying off the shelves is if there is a mother of a Earthquake.I’m going to hide the bottle and receipts in one of the Wife’s empty shoe boxes…Update: Cracked it open. First impress was the corks not very tight, better drink this fast it’s gonna evaporate. Then the pour. The bottle dribbled a little and precious drops hit the bar. Now I don’t know about Carmel Notes or burnt barrels. It either tastes good or I want to put it in my car as a octane booster. It was OK makes me want to get another bottle of angels envy to compare them.

Even if it's a draw, you have to give it to Rare Breed. It's not a single barrel and you can always get more of it. I love the KC picks, but they can be very different
Obviously this is very subjective. For my palate, I’ve had 3 single barrel offerings and I liked them all more than Rare Breed. But I still love Rare Breed and I don’t think you can go wrong either way.

I wouldn't trade the kc for 2 rare breeds. For my taste I don't think the rare breed is even close to as good. I'd honestly take the regular 9 year kc over anything wild turkey

Rare breed is not better than Knob Creek single barrel select. I have them both.... Knob Creek is way more complex than has a longer finish
