  • Have you ever wondered if hair straightening brushes really work? Also, will it really straighten my hair perfectly in half the time? Well, I decided to try two of them, one top-line brand and another more affordable. I then compared both to my regular flat iron.
Before going on... don't forget to subscribe to our NEW kids channel called UnilandKids! www.youtube.com...
We've shown you so many hair braiding tutorials on our channel, but haven't shown many tutorials reviewing products that use heat on your hair.
I've seen a few impressive viral tutorials online where the girl uses a similar brush on her curly hair and you see an IMMEDIATE silky-straight strand of hair as a result. I have to admit that the videos look impressive!
For this review, I personally bought following two straightening brushes to review in this video:
    * Amika "Polished Perfection" Straightening Brush - $129.99
    rstyle.me/n/cwg...
    * InStyler "Straight Up" Ceramic Straightening Brush - $59.99
    rstyle.me/n/cwg...
I tested one brush on a few sections of hair on one side of my head, and the other brush on the other side of my head. I then show you the comparison. I then took my favorite of the two brushes, and then finished off the one side with it and used my own personal flat iron hair straightener on the other side, and give you another comparison
Did these brushes work? If so, which of the two brushes was better and were they worth the money? Lastly, how does the best brush compare to my regular flat iron for straightening hair? Click to see!

I got a hair straightening brush last year for Christmas and it was about $30 or $40 and it works amazinggg. Not as well as a regular straightener, but it makes straightening my thick, long hair really quick

I have very thick and long hair, and have a device like the instyler. I can do my whole head in about 6 to 8 "chunks" which takes minutes. If I use a regular hair straightener it takes at least half an hour or so, so that makes a real difference. I love it! 😀
    I love Rylan's new hair! 😀

I love my straightening brush, but I really only use it to tame my hair when I air dry it. I almost use it like a traditional brush, but a little slower. I brush the underside and then the outside and at the ends I have a little technique I use to sort of curl under the ends. I use it as my quick go-to. But mine was only about $35, so well worth the cheap price tag!

Love your videos! You should try this on Paisleys hair coz I've got her hair texture as well. I think both of the straightening brushes work perfectly. I think to get silky smooth hair I recommend putting oil in your hair overnight

I got one of these brushes at Walgreens for $20, and I absolutely love it!! I have VERY curly and VERY thick hair and although it doesn’t work in one stroke, it definitely works. I set it to 450 degrees and it works so well to straighten my roots. The heating elements are down in the brush, so if you touch it to your head you won’t get burned! I absolutely love it for anti- frizz as well👍🏼

I got a Remington straightening brush from Target and I love it! I find that it's much easier to use if you face the brush the opposite way with the "bristles" toward your head. I love that I never get lines in my head and I feel like I can straighten my hair in so much less time!

I recently purchased the Amika and I have to say that it considerably cut down the time spent with a hair straightener. Usually I take smaller sections with the hair straightener for a really shiny straight look. I have hair for like two people. Very course, thick and wavy and I love the fact that I was able to get my hair looking pretty decent in under 40 minutes vs the 2-3 hours I usually spend with a hair straightener. Instead of waiting until an afternoon to do my hair I straightened my hair before I entered work at 8 am. Amika hair brush is perfect for those days you need a quick fix.

I dont do sections when using this straightening brush. I just brush my hair with normal brush first, and then go over with the straightening brush. I have very thick hair, and it works great.

Hair straightening brushes are my life because I don't like using flat irons personally. I *LOVE* my Amika one and I always use it when I want to straighten my hair (after I use The Wizard or Olaplex #6/#7 for protection). I think it depends on your personal preferences and I do go over it a couple times after I straighten it. However, with the brush, I've noticed my hair looks better the 2nd day rather than the first day.

I have the amika brush and I love it! I have very frizzy thick curly wavy hair. Normally with a flat iron it takes me 20 minutes but with the brush I’m done in 10. The texture of my hair is smooth and soft every time. I don’t get that result with a flat iron. I also feel like there is less damage since it’s not as direct heat you would get with a flat iron. I won’t be throwing a way my flat iron just yet, but the amika brush has become the tool I reach for.

I've tried the straightening brush on my hair and I feel like it works for taming weird cowlicks and to refresh second or third day hair, like when you sweat or sleep on it and it gets frizzy or takes on weird shapes, especially if you have short hair like I do now, I found that now that my hair is short I can still use it to help shape it how I want it. I should also point out that I have naturally thick but bone straight hair.

I have the 25 dollar version of this product so similar to the cheaper one Mindy used and I saw the same results. It left my long curly hair looking blow dried and still puffy, not pin straight. And it did hurt a little bit since we all might know how tough it is to get a brush through curly hair! The only perk I noticed is it does get out those annoying hard to reach curls on the back of my head though I always run a straightener through afterwards to get pin straight effect. Now I have short hair and I don't straighten it anymore but I'm gonna assume it's easier to use on short hair since there's less pull

Great video. I saw another where the reviewer said that the brush was great to fix your already-straightened hair the next day or if you were working out. But from blow-dry, she said she would still use her hair straightener. I think that analogy suitably fits your video too. I have short hair, so it's takes me 5 mins to straighten any kinks in my hair with my straightener. Thanks.

I would have liked to see the product used as an actual brush like intended. I know it would be hard to get it close enough to the heating plate but it is advertised to be used as a brush. But with the way you did it it would never have any competition with a regular flat iron because it would take just as much time to do it the way you were by grabbing a section and going underneath. It would have been cool to see how well it did just brushing your hair slowly. But still a great and informative video!

I have one and love it! I have pretty thin, yet wavy hair that when I use a traditional straightener i lose all the body in my hair. My thin hair does not look good super straight, it’s just flat and lifeless haha. But the hair brush straightener is a nice balance. Calms and straightens the waves but leaves my hair with a nice volume.

I tried a different brand that you, and basically had the same takeaway. I think we all have the dream of being able to run a brush through our hair quickly and have it be straight...but the reality is that the process with these brushes is slower and more painstaking for a lesser result. My flat iron is faster and has better results.

What hair straightener do you use? It did the best for you so if you could tell me what is your favourite hair straightener that would be wonderful!

I have the instyler and I LOVE it! My hair is supper thin, and I have tried many straighteners and that one is my favorite! ❤️💕 Your hair does look a little bit oily so that could be a factor. I usually wash mine dry it then use it! Just what I do! My hair is usually very soft with the instyler! 💕❤️ Love you Mindy!

I have one of these and I don't use it as much as I used to just because its a hassle to find a place to put it in my current bathroom but I liked it for days that I didn't necessarily need my hair to be straight straight but sometimes I get weird bumps because with my hair being ombre right now, the top tends to curl more than the ends and so I get this weird texture if I shower at night and just put a little of the not your mother's smooth moves cream in. so this sort of helps to tame my roots and it's supposedly better for your hair than a normal straightener because it's not being crushed between metal plates. .

I did the same thing. I’m a hairstylist. I bought the Paul Mitchell brush. It was expensive and the results were not pleasing. However, I bought a glossie and I think it’s made by insyler. The difference it had a clip and you can use it w/o the clip or you can open the clip. Here is what the advantage is in conclusion. You know how flat irons can make your hair flat at the root area. The glossie brush did not make my hair flat and using the clip it worked well. If that’s what you are trying to achieve. If you have curly hair at the root and you want that straight I would just use a regular flat iron. I just compared the plain Paul Mitchell without a clip. My wholesale cost was $100.00
Glossie was 79.99 on amazon and 59.99 on QVC.

I have really curly hair and I use a straightening hairbrush then use a flat iron and quickly go over the top layer of hair
personally, i think it is quite inconvenient but using the brush first does get my hair to be wavy wihich makes it easier to use a straightener
