- Today’s review is a bit of a throwback. 2007 seemed to be the year of the sport roadster, and there was plenty to choose from. Of course, there was the quintessential Mazda MX-5 Miata, BMW had the Z4, and you could even go the route of Chrysler with the Mercedes-Benz based Crossfire. Loved these cars when they came out! Considered getting one new back in the day, but went with the Eclipse turbo convertible instead. I needed at least some storage space, and the eclipse had both a back seat and a trunk. Thanks for the video...Love how you find these pretty uncommon cars to review!
I had a 2008 Sky Redline. Darn fast and a good Sunday driver (ride was a bit stiff). Top was also a bit funky. Interior tactile feel was sub-par and typical GM, they short changed on some minor, inexpensive safety features (i.e. LED taillights or HID headlights) Main reason I sold it was it was a back-breaker to get in and out of and a very small car in an SUV world (in southern California).
Correction: those humps are also called aero-fairings, not buttresses. The buttresses are the cloth - covered corners of the canvas top that latch to the closed trunk lid. Used ones can be had for under 10K today; a bargain for all this fun.
I own a 2006 Ion with over 230,0000 miles and still runs sweet. This Sky is something I would love to own but in manual though.

Great little car! Always liked these but one thing that ALWAYS bothered me was that I couldn't stand the huge antenna sticking up on the right side. For me it totally killed the sleekness of the car 😩
Same. They could have integrated it into the glass or something. Glass-embedded antennas have been around since the 70’s.

I would just remove it completely. It's not really necessary these days.
