Tomorrow is my first lacrosse practice of the season. I’m going to ask my coach if I can be the backup goalie (like I’ll be there just in case our main goalie isn’t there) I’m nervous but my goalie friends say that I can do it.
I wouldn’t want to be goalie cuz you don’t get to run much with your mates on the field. And the balls flying at you no way! Lol! It feels like goalies get the smallest amount of times on the game.
@@Zumbagirl517 It entirely depends on what you like, I’d say. Before I switched to goalie I loved defense, the positions are similar in some ways. I never liked shooting all that much but I always loved shutting people out, defense and goalie both do this but in different ways. And for those of us that do enjoy goalie, the feeling you get when you have a solid block and a good clear and you see your teammates get hyped up all over again when you give them that block and pass, it’s indescribable. I’m sure it’s much like the feeling an attack man or midfielder gets when they have a great shot on goal, it feels incredible but you just can’t put it into words for someone else.
Ahhh! That’s exciting u have a game! I haven’t played lax but I’m interested in doing rec lax. Im too old for a reg team! But I wouldn’t want goalie role. You get to run 1/4th the field but that’s just about it & a small amount of the role. I’d like to be running with my friends on the field! Not to mention flying balls coming at you. I played handbells in 3rd grade and I was given the small roles! It wasn’t fun. And I was really good at music! I can connect the small role of that with goalie.
When you say you save isn’t it where the ball comes a flying and it taps your stick when you move it down if the ball comes down towards ya? Or catch it?
well the chest protector seems to like to choke you on your neck and impinge on your shoulder movement based off of my experience as a goalie. still I'd rather wear the pads and be a bit awkward looking versus have a caved-in chest from impact.
@@adarcus4053 yea I’m a goalie aswell, I think the only thing that interferes with passing as a goalie is your form. If your chest protector is choking you or interfering with passes, maybe it’s the wrong gear
@@j_night850 I had less than 6 months of total goalie experience. I became the team's main goalie by unfortunate circumstance (The real main goalie broke her foot in a freak accident at the first game of the season) and some observed and suspected talent. When I sustained a career ending injury myself later that year I was number 14 in the nation.
ward is my new spirit animal lol

Adarcus B.S. I’m a men’s goalie. By no means does a chest protector make it hard to throw.
