  • In this adventure we travel to the Citrus Wildlife Management Area with some friends to find some obstacles I was told about around the trail 14 and 9A. Unfortunately, we were not allow to get to the spot I was looking for, but have an amazing time with friends and meeting new people, not to mention Shadow making new friends while Trail Stompin.
I am also trying out video DaVinci Resolve editing software to help me show my epic adventures with all of you. I hope you enjoy this video and please check out my channel below, like, and subscribe to show your support.

You need to hit close to a 30° breakover angle as a point of reference.
To do that , unfortunately it usually takes 37s and a 3 inch lift or so on a gladiator.
You might have already done it but I can put the numbers in here anyway.
These are roughly the stock numbers. The stock breakover angle is basically a Subaru Forester , unfortunately.
Approach angle of 43.6 degrees, breakover angle of 20.3 degrees, departure angle of 26 degrees and ground clearance of 11.1 inches.
The stock mid vehicle clearance is actually 12.3 inches to achieve that stock angle, based on the math.
Going up 6 inches from tires and lift (tires count for this) youd be at 30°. Just to beat a stock 2 door wrangler Rubicon, you need to be 17.3 inches off the ground to hit 28.3° breakover. Thats up 5 inches. To hit 29.9 ° (basically 30) , youd have to go up 6 inches from a combination of wheels and tires.
Question people should ask when they are modifying their off-road vehicle, is how do I get to or pass like 27° break over. If you have a stock two-door Rubicon you're pretty much there... If you want to just have a little bit more I would say just do it 2-in spacer lift and you're good or even just go up on the tires a little bit. You don't need to really do anything to a two-door (unless you're doing rock buggy type activities).
But anyway if you look at the top off-road vehicles in stock form they're close to 30° breakover so that's the number to hit. If you pass that you're getting into pretty insane capabilities.

Now that is some impressive details to share. Thanks for the breakdown. I am so glad I went with the 37's, and not the 35's, and with the 4" lift, feel it works great, but we hopefully can push the limits in 2024, with the roof top tent, we shall explore a hell of alot more. Lol. Wish you all the best and Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Great video! Looking forward to the trails! Thanks for the tips! To fit my spare under my land rover I just needed a bit of welding work to make my 36's fit underneath :)

Seems the folks that hunt there have to buy a wildlife management area permit just to be able to drive on the roads. Seems only fair if everyone else could do the same. I do think a warning instead of a citation would work for you. But hey you took one for the team.

Some people forget it’s like driving, it’s a privy not a right. If you don’t like the rules, go elsewhere. The way I see it, fees are there to help keep the park open.

How is the officer a "really nice guy" if his job is to patrol these spots and extort you for money for actions that have literally no victim?

I also forgot to put in that little tag sticker on my license plate, which he did not want to right me up for, so think that, if could have gone worse, especailly when ridiculous traffic stops turn bad these days. I agree with you for about it being victimless stop and felt like... Really...for this? Lol... To be honest I never checked the rules if the park either.

@@trailstompin My man, I mean it with it love, but if you're going to be a youtube content creator person who films yourself doing this stuff, you should probably know the rules of where you're headed. Staying on numbered trails/forest roads is kind of rule numero uno.

That seems like entrapment. They could easily bulldoze those shut, or put a gate on them or drop a tree. Or the trails are already there so how is it creating more damage. Also I could understand 6 cars or more but who cares if you have 6 people in less than 6 cars. Stuff like that is bullshit and just a way to fine people.

@@trailstompin First of all, I love your Jeep. It looks really good.
Please understand. These state parks are home to a number of endangered species. Drivers are restricted to specific areas to protect the wild life and the plant life.
I would recommend watching the UA-cam channel of Florida Jeep Rides. They travel these trails as well. They will explain the rules and regulations of the parks. Most importantly, they will explain why these regulations exist.
They will also introduce you to a bunch of other trails that you will like. I have subscribed.

Entrapment would be if they encouraged you to drive there, say by putting a sign up that said "This trail open" and then charged you for being there. The rules for the state forest, which this dude admitted to never reading, clearly tell you to stay on the numbered trails.
