The storyboard is the blueprint of your eLearning solution.
It is a plan that specifies the visual elements, sound elements, interactions and details relevant to the learning solution that will be developed. Simply, a storyboard outlines the learning content, screen by screen. Any developer should be able to pick up a storyboard and successfully develop the learning solution as it was planned.
This template:
- Provides you with a go-to resource to successfully plan and organise a potentially overwhelming stack of content into an eLearning course.
- Helps get all stakeholders on the same page for what will be developed (the final product).

Hi Belvista Studios! I have been incredibly interested in a career in ID/eLearning, and after watching your video, I can tell how beneficial this tool is for ID/eLearning projects. I have been a Special Education teacher for the past 8 years and I too use the a VERY similar methodology for my lesson plans, as well as for my student’s individual goals & objectives. I tend to use the storyboard as part of the legal work and scope agreement - As it is the only document that covers what the final product will look like. So because of this, I make the storyboard as close as possible to the look and feel of the final product and I have 4 parts to product delivery - Storyboard / Alpha / Beta / Gold. The storyboard is the main design phase the interaction is described and animation, graphics, and text will be roughed out and added in the Alpha and tidied up in the Beta development stages.

Another quick way to explain what a storyboard is: before movie makers start filming, they create a storyboard. Looks like a roughly drawn comic book, telling the story. Storyboards have existed since long before e-learning or computers.
