    Production quality is the best of all of your videos so far. I love the high screen resolution and clear audio quality. This was the next best thing as being there. Keep up the good work, Randy!

    Sir, a quick thank you. Great video; very good verbal descriptions and visual terrain association. And, the people in that car were very fortunate that you drove by.

    That boulder (or one similar to it) was completely blocking the road at about that same spot when a group of us from SCCX (the So Cal Xterra Club) camped there in 2008. At that time it was clearly the end of the road, and it sure didn't look like it got there naturally. The wide area a little before the boulder is a nice place to camp by the way.

    I was just out that way a few weeks ago. Drove about 2 miles back into Black Eagle Mine Road. Turned around back onto Pinto Basin and headed up to the Cholla Garden. From there drove back to the Southern Entrance and did Pinkham Canyon from the Ranger Station down to the 10frwy. I will be back out that way this weekend. I may do Black Eagle Mine on new years day.

    I just did gold mountain because of your full trail review. I have a Toyota FJ on 34s. I wasn't sure about doing gold mountain before seeing your video. I didn't know what to expect. So thanks. It was the most fun I've had in my FJ. That last obstacle was the most difficult for me. It's a lot harder then it looked on the film. You had said you always get stuck there until you work out the right line. Me too. I had to bulldog out of it. Thanks for the heads up. There is a by pass now. But where is the fun in that? Thanks for the great vids as always! We just got back exploring the mines off Black Gold Road. We squeezed past that large boulder & continued a couple miles to the locked gate @ Black Gold Mine. Very doable in my Trooper on 32" tires & 2" lift.

    i chanced to stmble upon your channel...your ride was both thrilling and scarry....ceratinly a drive of this type is not for weak and inexperienced or first-time off road drivers.....hats off....feel you are a little fast while talking...if you could slightly reduce that speed, probably i could connet your video in a better way with your audio narration....your video is terrific...i appreciate your advice 'don't go alone'....

    Awesome videos, format, and commentary. I'll have the confidence to tackle these trails based on your videos. The only recommendation I would make to maybe make them a little more dynamic and interesting is getting some more camera mounts; wheel-wells to track the wheel and suspension action and terrain, rear bumper for rear view, etc. and switch up views.

    I like your videos, and I think they are well done. I'd offer suggestions for improvement if I had any. Just keep making videos that you like to make. I prefer the trail videos, but gear videos are good too. I just watched your ARB compressor video, and it was interesting and informative. No matter what you do, some people will like it, and others not. Thanks in advance for keeping up the good work. I look forward to more great videos.

    I was told the bolder rolled there from the side about two to three years ago after a really intense storm and a minor earthquake. Not sure how accurate that info is but I’ve heard it from more than one person.
    It’s always hard to tell from videos but I think my Power Wagon with 35’s would make it as far as you went without issue. Your thoughts if you have time to respond? I know you avoid the “could my vehicle” questions. Power Wagon is kind of a unique large pick up from an off road stand point.

    • @TheNotaRubicon
      @TheNotaRubicon  4 роки тому +1

      anything with 35's should make it easily. Heck, that Chevy Volt made it half the way!

    • @jamesngotts
      @jamesngotts 4 роки тому +1

      NotaRubicon Productions thanks for the reply, I had a feeling. Like I said perspective from video can be a bit off sometimes but I’ve taken the Power Wagon up and through what I think was much more difficult. The Volt was hilarious because a few weeks ago we were exploring Skyline Divide up in Big Bear and found a newer Volkswagen Beatle stuck in a rut with it’s frame on the dirt. My wife videoed while I winched out to safety.

    One of the little-known secrets to desert travel is if you get in trouble, stop and take a piss. Before you are done a park ranger will be standing behind you. And you are in for the "How you are destroying the ego system of the desert". They also don't like it if you ask them where they take a piss. Randy, if we ever meet, remind me to tell you about "The man, the women, and the blue Jeep".
