I'm a man and I've been using it as a work and travel bag for the past 4 years. I didn't know it existed, but it was in the store when we went in after my wife "got the call to the private room." I don't wear suits anymore for work, just a blazer and chinos/jeans/dress pants kind of look usually, so I've been carrying around more casual bags (Felisi-they used to sell it at Barney's R.I.P.) or LL Bean tote bags. I saw the one in navy and I had to have it (navy being a color I always wear, and orange being my favorite color...I even got the seatbelt to my car custom ordered in orange.) This bag gets carried daily for work and on business trips (I fly alot all around the world for work) and it also doubles as the "smaller item" on top of my carry-on. It it gets abused. Probably the most abused Hermes bag in the world...but it still looks like new. Just a minor spot cleaning with a damp cloth and it's all good. (BTW, I can vouch that it is water resistant. Just make sure you have something waterproof covering the opening; like a vinyl shopping bag. Shop in Japan give you a little vinyl bag cover thing to cover your shopping bag when it rains, those come in handy.) As for carrying a lap top I use a laptop case (it's actually not a laptop case, but a Porter Document case that fits a 15 inch laptop and has pockets for stuff you need for a lap top.) It slides right in the oranage inner pouch perfectly. This bag can carry alot. When travelling I also use it as a shopping bag, because the super markets charge you for shopping bags, so it gets filled up with bottles of water for the family etc. More than adequate for the task. Just turn the logo side in and people don't know it's an expensive bag. It just looks like a navy fabric tote bag. Very inconspicuous and worth every cent...just a bit heavy. But my wife says Hermes charges by the weight, in which case this bag is a bargain.
I have this bag in rouge and chocolat, very useful bag for me.. Laptop bag, travel bag, mommy bag.. I have used this when I went to the zoo with my 2 kids and it carried all their snacks, water bottles, wipes etc. I love how the strap is detachable, i use it for my gold mini evelyn when i want the strap to be shorter..😊
I feel like the material of the navy would hold up better over time, and easier to clean. But maybe the Hermes wool is very quality and would also withstand wear and tear? The garden party you see in the background of this video is the 36 size. I also got a GP30 last year.
