  • Ryan makes a kids' rocking chair for his son. He mills it out on a CNC router only using a single bit and his new BamCore plywood. He assembles the project and then talks about how to sell it as a CNC business and how he would make money from this CNC project that sells.

    I love it but if you added an arch back and a cup holder for the little man that would be even cooler

      Yupp, couldn’t refilm it or the glue was going to set! Good catch, it wouldn’t have been very comfortable like that haha

    Awesome that you are naming your soon to be son Waylon. Especially with being in Texas
    Going through the process of rescuing a dog right now, and one of the names the wife and I short listed is Waylon.

    Really good video!
    Could you make a video about how to manage orders in production?
    For example, which MRP software do you use for management?
    Thanks!!

    Thanks for the great videos. Recommendation: on super comfortable chairs, the seat is not parallel to the ground. It's angled back about 10-15 degrees.

    I absolutely love this... and love the bamcore even more. Ill have to see what shipping to Canada is (if possible) or resort to shipping to my US mailbox. Any chance you can create a file for those of us who have a 30x30 machine? I wonder if using the 24x36, cut down to some 31-32 inches would give enough length to allow the cutting of the two pieces you forgot! 😂 If there is a way to make it work, I may become a mega customer. 🤔

    Ryan you are rocking the videos and ideas these days. Forgot to ask - did you do the seat fluting with a 1/4” endmill? Seems like a ballnose would give a smoother finish-less sanding. Am I missing something.

    • @cutting-it-close
      @cutting-it-close  2 місяці тому +1

      It’s really about the same finish, ball nose would leave ridges, a bowl bit would probably work best, I just didn’t want a tool change

    Hi, I started to watch your videos just couples days ago, and I am thinking about buying cnc - but I dont know which one should I buy. My budget is up to 4k usd, was looking into Shapeoko 4, do you think its worth it? I eventually want to go all-in into this buisness but for now I just want to have something that I can learn on and start selling my work. Comparison of today's cnc offers could be next video topic :D also it would be interesting for me to watch how you made those big letters (for wedding etc) - just another idea for next epsiode ;P Greetings from Poland!

    What are the largest dimensions of any of the parts?
    I'd like to get the files, but I have a Shapeoko 3 standard so can only cut about 16 x 16. So I'm wondering if could cut all the pieces out if I move them around inside that square?

    • @cutting-it-close
      @cutting-it-close  3 дні тому

      It would be too small, everything would fit except the rockers, they are like 28 inches.

    • @justinbanks2380
      @justinbanks2380 3 дні тому

      @@cutting-it-close gotcha. Did the files come with an image version (jpeg, PDF, etc) that I could print out tiled and trace onto wood and cut out by hand?
      Also, would solid wood work (aligning the grain) , or does it need the multi directional strength of ply?
      Also, while I'm disappointed it won't fit, I guess the upside is it is another vote to splurge and get a bigger machine... 🤣 (Gotta look at the upside!)
