Hi thanks for the video! Very helpful and informative! I sent you a message at your email, Asked some questions : What drone did you use on your video? Can I fly my air2s at the same spots and location you did? Can I get sticker from CAAS with in the day? Where's CAAS in SG? Thank you very much!
Hi, 1) Drones Used, The drones used in the video were Mavic2Zoom and Spark. 2) Locations Those locations in the video were outside no-fly-zones years back. There could be some shifting of no-fly-zones boundaries and changes of public to private estates after the years. so, please always check the following maps before you fly: flywhere.sg plex.garuda.io/map www.onemap.sg/main/v2/dronequery important notes: - onemap is the official government website, but flywhere and garuda maps giving you more information on private estates, and NPB parks that drones not allowed. - Some of the locations on onemap, flywhere or garuda websites might show you the location as outside any no-flying-zones. However, places like Mount faber, Telok Blangah Hill are more than 60m above mean sea level so you cannot fly there. For places with higher altitude (e.g, more than 17-storey high), do not fly there even it is outside no-fly-zones. - Do not fly anywhere at the north shore. Woodlands Jetty (as in video) is outside no-fly-zones but the police and coast guards there are overly alert for any drug smuggling by drones. 3) Sticker - You should be able to purchase the drone sticker from SingPost (our post office) at airport. - When you purchase the sticker, you will need to fill in a form (ID, Drone type etc). But that is still not finished - You need to paste sticker onto your drone, take a photo of drone with the sticker, and online register onto CAAS website. CAAS registration website will ask for your ID, drone photo, drone serial number. - You will need a SingPass account to have access to CAAS website. When you arrived at airport, ask the airport helpdesk where you can get a SingPass fast. 4) CAAS www.caas.gov.sg/ unmanned-aircraft regulations www.caas.gov.sg/public-passengers/unmanned-aircraft FAQ for unmanned-aircraft here www.caas.gov.sg/who-we-are/contact-us/faq 5) Others For tourists coming to s'pore and flying your drones, this website provides good information on what you need to do: drone-laws.com/drone-laws-in-singapore/ =================================== Disclaimer: The information I provided you here might not be 100% correct, as I'm not the correct person to answer you your questions (i'm not from CAAS and not the one drafted the rules and regulations). ya, you are right that not many places for drone flying in S'pore. If you want to get a Mavic Mini, think of more if a "flying camera" would be handy to you, for e.g., selfie photos taken from high ground, or some quick video shots of surrounding. Mini is quite good for tours. Have fun with your drone! :) ua-cam.com/video/h65xKBkMtIE/v-deo.html
The East Cost park is not a no-fly zone, but it is apparently a protected nature reserve and flying there is prohibited. Also, I'm aware that the spot #9 is where a group of pilots got a 10000 dollar fine for flying despite there not being a no-fly zone. Be careful around the Flyer.
hi, thanks! east coast park => go to onemap.gov.sg, select DroneQuery, turn on NPark Nature Reserves. Right now (Nov 2022) East Coast Park Area E is the only small area allowed for drone flying, and not marked by NParks as nature reserves. The other sections of east coast park are mainly no-fly-zones due to within 5km from Changi/Paya-Lebar Airports. outside flyer => The whole river bank from flyer to somewhere lavender mrt stn is no longer under NParks, is under garden-by-the-bay-central now. All parks managed by garden-by-the-bay are no-fly. So it mean there is nowhere you could launch a drone and fly around flyer. (Go flywhere.sg and check the private estates/properties marking) we have to fly safely and avoid being fined... :)
I wonder if you tried going somewhere near Sentosa or the usual Yacht route they have, that area looks good for drones, i wonder if it’s allowed there hahah i wanna try
hi, the few locations: sentosa, marina bay sands, national stadium, garden by the bay are "private estate/property" not managed by public government departments. you should not get a S$50K fine from caas if it is outside no-fly-zones. But the estate management there could still stop you for flying or chasing you away.... i do not fly at these locations.... 😆 flywhere.sg shows the private estates on their map.
Hi, very inforrmative good video for a newbie getting into this. i stay in woodlands and got disappointed knowing that it's 5km within aerodome. anyways, i have 2 questions. what do you mean by a place to launch a drone? can it be just any flat surface? like or on grass? and, what is the equivalent of 60m? cuz i ordered a mini drone from mitu/xiaomi. and i just plan to use it as a selfie cam with my family.
hi, if you are staying in woodlands, you have to go south to at least bt panjang or bishan park for drones flying. do not fly at north shore, even if the location is outside no-fly-zones. the police and coast guards there are in overly alert for any drug smuggling by drones and etc. for some locations, there could be too much metal around interfering with the gps and drones cannot take off. For your xiaomi-mitu should be ok as it does not have gps. 60m is about 17 storey high (per storey typical 3+m height). some locations like telok blangah hill and mount faber are having altitudes of >60m above mean sea level so you cannot fly there. always flying below trees' height should be safe, most trees are 20-30m height. check both maps on garuda.io and flywhere.sg for no-fly-zones before you fly. have fun with your drones!... :)
hi, woodlands jetty was outside no-fly-zones more than 2 years ago, and is still outside no-fly-zones now... but, haha!, better don't fly there now. the police and coast guards there are overly alert for any drugs smuggling by drones. so they might just come chit-chat with you and spoil your day for drones flying. 😆
Hi Sir .. I m using DJI mini2, check with you, can I fly my drone at Kallang riverside park? I checked from one map it's can fly, but when I check from DJI fly apps "Enhanced warning zone" (Payalebar Air Base Airport) .. thanks
hi, - onemap.sg is the official government website, as long as it is not inside the no-fly-zones of onemap.sg, it should be ok. - i do not know what is that warning on dji apps you mentioned. go to onemap.sg handphone apps version, turn on "10km aerodromes". that could be what dji apps is trying to warn you. it is somewhere inside the flight path during aircraft takeoff/landing. (previously max 120m drone height but got no meaning, because whole s'pore is always 60m height max) - you can always double check with plex.garuda.io/map, flywhere.sg/ if you are not sure of some locations. but onemap.sg is the official government map. - is jun/jul now, there are temporary lockdown of airspace by caas for ndp rehearsal purpose. better check caas website for ndp rehearsal schedule before you fly your drones. fine can be up to s$50k or 2yr jail. www.caas.gov.sg/who-we-are/newsroom/Detail/establishment-of-temporary-restricted-areas-for-ndp-related-aerial-activities/ have fun flying your mini2,... fly safely, fly carefully and don't get a fine by caas.... 😄
Hi, We are flying drones at Bishan-AMK Park this Saturday 18 jan, 11am. Should have 3-4 persons. We are short of kaki and do join us if you are free! :)
Hi! Love the video! If I want to fly a drone just to follow me when I'm running, meaning I won't be flying it so high. It is still not allowed in the no fly zone? Thank you!
Hi, You cannot fly any drones inside any no-fly-zones unless you have both the drone license and permit from CAAS. And, even if you are flying outside those no-fly-zones, you might still get a S$20K fine if CAAS lockdown the whole s'pore airspace on that day (e.g. NDP rehearsal). So, check CAAS media announcement/news-room on their website every time before you fly your drone. :)
Hi 👋 Tks for sharing this video. Now I got more place to go fly my Mavic Air. Will plan to joint u guy sometime. Just purchased the registered label online waiting for SingPost to send the label.

Hi, I never fly at ECP Zone B. But from OneMap.sg it looks OK. Note that now is Covid19 Circuit Breaker time and they do not allow fishing or kite flying. So they might issue a fine ticket to any drone flyers. :)
Hi, East Coast Park only few small corners not inside no-fly-zones. Make sure you check the boundaries properly. First, go to onemap.sg, and turn on drone query, it will show you the official CAAS NFZ boundaries: www.onemap.sg/main/v2/dronequery Then, check on CAAS newsroom and make sure no airspace restriction on the day you fly your drone: www.caas.gov.sg/who-we-are/newsroom have fun flying your drone!.. :)
hey can i still fly my drone at ecp zone e rn? i saw the map on Flywhere and it says that area is under NParks Parks. also i can fly over to the sea right?
hi, few things you need to check before flying your drones 1. On onemap.sg, turn on "DroneQuery", check and make sure the area is not under CAAS no-fly-zone. S$20K fine if you are flying in or into those NFZ areas. (Area E no restriction now) 2. Check NPB website if flying of drone allowed. Even if park is not under CAAS NFZ, NPB could still issue you a fine ticket for flying drone there. (East Coast Park not in list now) www.nparks.gov.sg/gardens-parks-and-nature/dos-and-donts/parks-with-no-flying-signs 3. Check CAAS newsroom and make sure no lockdown of airspace on the day you are flying. www.caas.gov.sg/who-we-are/newsroom and, please don't blame me if somehow you still get a fine from them... :)
Merlion Jetty at Marina Bay is outside no-fly-zones on onemap.sg. Had seen tourists flying there on youtube. But watch out most of the time Marina Bay area is too crowded and too much RF interference. I never flew there before...
hi, you can use the video for free, but with following restrictions: 1) video clips have to be scenery only, no human inside the video 2) video clips for your own website design only, not as part of your commercial products or commercial services 3) video clips has to be unaltered, it has to be in original form, but you can zoom in to remove the captions/sub-title 4) you cannot claim ownership of the video clips later. 5) all video clips should not be used in any phishing website, or for any illegal activities 6) i will not put in any extra effort to search and find you the original raw video. you have to download from my youtube channel ( note: I would want to let you use the video free of charge, but i do not want myself to get into any trouble or problems ) that's the best i could offer you... :)
Hi, that marina barrage is private property/PUB. Need to move further south, out of the car park and somewhere at the water front, where people flying big kites there. Then PUB security guards will not come to you. :)
Hi, Any drone heavier than 250g have to be registered. (Mavic Pro is 700+g) Go to CAAS website here for more accurate and updated info: www.caas.gov.sg/public-passengers/unmanned-aircraft/ua-regulatory-requirements/ua-registration You do not need a drone license if the drone is less than 1.5kg, and only for recreational purpose (non profit, no commercial activities involved) The FAQ on CAAS website is here: www.caas.gov.sg/who-we-are/contact-us/faq Make sure your drones do not cut into the CAAS no-fly-zones, the fine could be as high as S$50K. Check onemap.sg (turn on DroneQuery) before you fly: www.onemap.gov.sg/main/v2/ Some parks do not allow drone flying also. National Park Board could issue you a fine ticket of few hundred dollars if they want (so far had not heard of in any news yet) www.nparks.gov.sg/gardens-parks-and-nature/dos-and-donts/parks-with-no-flying-signs Some private estates like Marina Sands Hotels, whole Sentosa Island, Garden-By-The-Bay, National Stadium do not allow drone flying. You can find the info from flywhere.sg: flywhere.sg/ Do not fly at north shore of s'pore island, even at any locations allowed. The coast guards and police there are nervous about drug smuggling using drones. Sorry, here is Singapore... :) One website here compiles drone regulations in s'pore. But i do not know how accurate it is .... drone-laws.com/drone-laws-in-singapore/
Ya, everywhere maximum 60m height in S'pore. We never fly beyond that altitude. The setting in the Mavic drone is 55-58m max altitude. The drone itself checks the GPS altitude and will not cross that height. It might appear to be quite high in any of the videos due to wide camera lens and certain angle of viewing, but all are below 60m. When you are flying a drone, you will notice that. :)
Hi, you need to register your drone with CAAS singapore if it is above 250g. www.caas.gov.sg/public-passengers/unmanned-aircraft/ua-regulatory-requirements/ua-registration

hi, video was taken years back with 2 drones, a DJI Spark of around S$800, and a DJI Mavic2Zoom of around S$2300. Both bought as new set. Camera came as built-in the drones. Drones price were more expensive then. if you are drone-beginner and staying in s'pore, you can get some used set DJI Mini2 fly-more at around S$500-600 from carousell.sg now. Used set DJI Mini1 fly-more should be around S$300-400 but the remote control range/distance is terrible. (both DJI Mini1 and Mini2 come with camera built-in) i'm actually listing my Mavic2Zoom at S$1100 on carousell.sg now. But for beginners, i'm suggesting just get a set of used DJI Mini1 or Mini2 would do. have fun with your drone flying!.. :)
Storing away the drone for months since idiots flew everywhere and anywhere creating problems and complaints ... nowadays all those permits by CAAS is crazy... most likely due to incompetency of the dept of less think more talking standards...
hi, may be can keep your drone for oversea tours? drones are handy selfie cameras. the areas less problematic for drones flying in s'pore are marina south and pandan reservoir. pandan reservoir was not affected during the last few NDP rehearsal. the other drones videos are now here: facebook.com/groups/608395083061309/

3) Sticker
- You should be able to purchase the drone sticker from SingPost (our post office) at airport.
- When you purchase the sticker, you will need to fill in a form (ID, Drone type etc). But that is still not finished
- You need to paste sticker onto your drone, take a photo of drone with the sticker, and online register onto CAAS website. CAAS registration website will ask for your ID, drone photo, drone serial number.
- You will need a SingPass account to have access to CAAS website. When you arrived at airport, ask the airport helpdesk where you can get a SingPass fast.

For tourists coming to s'pore and flying your drones, this website provides good information on what you need to do:

Disclaimer: The information I provided you here might not be 100% correct, as I'm not the correct person to answer you your questions (i'm not from CAAS and not the one drafted the rules and regulations). The drone rules, no-fly-zones and registration procedures get updated quite often.
Anyway, wish you a nice holiday in S'pore! 😆
very good video!!!! I am thinking of buying a magic mini but wondering whr I can shoot in Singapore cos everywhere is nfz
ya, you are right that not many places for drone flying in S'pore. If you want to get a Mavic Mini, think of more if a "flying camera" would be handy to you, for e.g., selfie photos taken from high ground, or some quick video shots of surrounding. Mini is quite good for tours.
Have fun with your drone! :)

(Go flywhere.sg and check the private estates/properties marking)
we have to fly safely and avoid being fined... :)
@@menghuitay5038 That's really good info, thanks!
Thanks for the nice info. Now I have more choices to fly 😊👍
Thanks! Also please let us know if you found another nice flying location in S'pore. :)
You can see my video on where I fly 😊
@@loichristopher3806 Hi, OK, :)
Can fly at marina barrage roof (on weekdays only I think) and the adjacent field to the right (all day)
hi, thanks for the info!.... but i think i still will not fly over that building, as sometimes is quite crowded up there... 😆
flywhere.sg shows the private estates on their map.
@@menghuitay5038 THANKS!!
Wow you manage to fly at Woodlands jetty, no police come?
hi, woodlands jetty was outside no-fly-zones more than 2 years ago, and is still outside no-fly-zones now...
but, haha!, better don't fly there now. the police and coast guards there are overly alert for any drugs smuggling by drones. so they might just come chit-chat with you and spoil your day for drones flying.
😆
Great video!
Hi Sir .. I m using DJI mini2, check with you, can I fly my drone at Kallang riverside park? I checked from one map it's can fly, but when I check from DJI fly apps "Enhanced warning zone" (Payalebar Air Base Airport) .. thanks
hi,
- onemap.sg is the official government website, as long as it is not inside the no-fly-zones of onemap.sg, it should be ok.
- i do not know what is that warning on dji apps you mentioned. go to onemap.sg handphone apps version, turn on "10km aerodromes". that could be what dji apps is trying to warn you. it is somewhere inside the flight path during aircraft takeoff/landing. (previously max 120m drone height but got no meaning, because whole s'pore is always 60m height max)
- you can always double check with plex.garuda.io/map, flywhere.sg/ if you are not sure of some locations. but onemap.sg is the official government map.
- is jun/jul now, there are temporary lockdown of airspace by caas for ndp rehearsal purpose. better check caas website for ndp rehearsal schedule before you fly your drones. fine can be up to s$50k or 2yr jail.
www.caas.gov.sg/who-we-are/newsroom/Detail/establishment-of-temporary-restricted-areas-for-ndp-related-aerial-activities/
have fun flying your mini2,... fly safely, fly carefully and don't get a fine by caas.... 😄
I am usually only free on some saturdays. When do u normally fly? Would like to join you guys when I can. I'm flying the Mavic air.

Hi, We are flying drones at Bishan-AMK Park this Saturday 18 jan, 11am.
Should have 3-4 persons.
We are short of kaki and do join us if you are free! :)
@@menghuitay5038 Thanks for invitation! Got to work this sat afternoon. Will try to come if I can make it.
Hi! Love the video! If I want to fly a drone just to follow me when I'm running, meaning I won't be flying it so high. It is still not allowed in the no fly zone? Thank you!
Hi,
You cannot fly any drones inside any no-fly-zones unless you have both the drone license and permit from CAAS.
Just purchased the registered label online waiting for SingPost to send the label.

hi, You can send message to my email: jxd512dw@gmail.com
Thanks nice vids I want to fly at ECP zone B seems ok there right?
Hi, I never fly at ECP Zone B. But from OneMap.sg it looks OK. Note that now is Covid19 Circuit Breaker time and they do not allow fishing or kite flying. So they might issue a fine ticket to any drone flyers. :)
@@menghuitay5038 yup flying after CB hahaha
Can fly at ECP Zone E ?
I want to video same place where u took at ecp using Dj drone.
Hi, East Coast Park only few small corners not inside no-fly-zones. Make sure you check the boundaries properly.
First, go to onemap.sg, and turn on drone query, it will show you the official CAAS NFZ boundaries:
www.onemap.sg/main/v2/dronequery
Then, check on CAAS newsroom and make sure no airspace restriction on the day you fly your drone:
www.caas.gov.sg/who-we-are/newsroom
have fun flying your drone!.. :)
hey can i still fly my drone at ecp zone e rn? i saw the map on Flywhere and it says that area is under NParks Parks. also i can fly over to the sea right?
hi, few things you need to check before flying your drones
1. On onemap.sg, turn on "DroneQuery", check and make sure the area is not under CAAS no-fly-zone. S$20K fine if you are flying in or into those NFZ areas. (Area E no restriction now)
2. Check NPB website if flying of drone allowed. Even if park is not under CAAS NFZ, NPB could still issue you a fine ticket for flying drone there. (East Coast Park not in list now)
www.nparks.gov.sg/gardens-parks-and-nature/dos-and-donts/parks-with-no-flying-signs
3. Check CAAS newsroom and make sure no lockdown of airspace on the day you are flying.
www.caas.gov.sg/who-we-are/newsroom
and, please don't blame me if somehow you still get a fine from them... :)
Hi... How about merlion area, can fly there?
Merlion Jetty at Marina Bay is outside no-fly-zones on onemap.sg. Had seen tourists flying there on youtube. But watch out most of the time Marina Bay area is too crowded and too much RF interference. I never flew there before...
Hi, may I download/ask for some drone footage to be used?
hi,
you can use the video for free, but with following restrictions:
1) video clips have to be scenery only, no human inside the video
2) video clips for your own website design only, not as part of your commercial products or commercial services
3) video clips has to be unaltered, it has to be in original form, but you can zoom in to remove the captions/sub-title
4) you cannot claim ownership of the video clips later.
5) all video clips should not be used in any phishing website, or for any illegal activities
6) i will not put in any extra effort to search and find you the original raw video. you have to download from my youtube channel
( note: I would want to let you use the video free of charge, but i do not want myself to get into any trouble or problems )
that's the best i could offer you... :)
Thank you
:)
Tried flying outside marina barrage once. Security guards came out bugging the fck out of me when I'm nowhere near the no fly zones.
Hi, that marina barrage is private property/PUB. Need to move further south, out of the car park and somewhere at the water front, where people flying big kites there. Then PUB security guards will not come to you. :)
Hi, do you need a drone pilot license in order to fly your drone? I got a dji mavic pro.
Hi,
Any drone heavier than 250g have to be registered. (Mavic Pro is 700+g)
Go to CAAS website here for more accurate and updated info:
www.caas.gov.sg/public-passengers/unmanned-aircraft/ua-regulatory-requirements/ua-registration
You do not need a drone license if the drone is less than 1.5kg, and only for recreational purpose (non profit, no commercial activities involved)
The FAQ on CAAS website is here:
www.caas.gov.sg/who-we-are/contact-us/faq
Make sure your drones do not cut into the CAAS no-fly-zones, the fine could be as high as S$50K. Check onemap.sg (turn on DroneQuery) before you fly:
www.onemap.gov.sg/main/v2/
Some parks do not allow drone flying also. National Park Board could issue you a fine ticket of few hundred dollars if they want (so far had not heard of in any news yet)
www.nparks.gov.sg/gardens-parks-and-nature/dos-and-donts/parks-with-no-flying-signs
Some private estates like Marina Sands Hotels, whole Sentosa Island, Garden-By-The-Bay, National Stadium do not allow drone flying. You can find the info from flywhere.sg:
flywhere.sg/
Do not fly at north shore of s'pore island, even at any locations allowed. The coast guards and police there are nervous about drug smuggling using drones.
Sorry, here is Singapore... :)
One website here compiles drone regulations in s'pore. But i do not know how accurate it is ....
drone-laws.com/drone-laws-in-singapore/
I thought the height limit in Singapore is only 60 metres?
Ya, everywhere maximum 60m height in S'pore. We never fly beyond that altitude. The setting in the Mavic drone is 55-58m max altitude. The drone itself checks the GPS altitude and will not cross that height. It might appear to be quite high in any of the videos due to wide camera lens and certain angle of viewing, but all are below 60m. When you are flying a drone, you will notice that. :)
Hi sorry to ask if the drone weight 1.4kg must i register?
Hi, you need to register your drone with CAAS singapore if it is above 250g.
www.caas.gov.sg/public-passengers/unmanned-aircraft/ua-regulatory-requirements/ua-registration
which weekends u guys fly?
Hi, We would fly during any weekends if we could gather enough people. Most of the time would be Saturday, 11am at destination. Please help sending a message to my eMail: jxd512dw@gmail.com , thanks!

Cemara how much brother drone
hi, video was taken years back with 2 drones, a DJI Spark of around S$800, and a DJI Mavic2Zoom of around S$2300.
(both DJI Mini1 and Mini2 come with camera built-in)
i'm actually listing my Mavic2Zoom at S$1100 on carousell.sg now. But for beginners, i'm suggesting just get a set of used DJI Mini1 or Mini2 would do.
have fun with your drone flying!.. :)
Storing away the drone for months since idiots flew everywhere and anywhere creating problems and complaints ... nowadays all those permits by CAAS is crazy... most likely due to incompetency of the dept of less think more talking standards...
hi, may be can keep your drone for oversea tours? drones are handy selfie cameras.
the areas less problematic for drones flying in s'pore are marina south and pandan reservoir. pandan reservoir was not affected during the last few NDP rehearsal.
the other drones videos are now here:
