The first time I heard this beautiful song, I was overwhelmed by emotions.
Initially I didn’t know what the lyrics meant. So, I proceeded to see the translation and I cried even more. Her voice and delivery is beyond anything I ever heard. Truly gifted singer.
It was a sad story about Beirut during lebanon civil war. Lot of deaths lot of injuries lot of tears..... .Beirut was suffering that time as it is today .please pray for lebanon please pray for Beirut . my people are suffering now more than war period.

Fairouz is an out of this world voice. I believe she could have much more diverse songs if she chose to try other talented composers. Her songs tend to be mostly around the same style. Maybe Lebanese only style.
