Fun fact, 1959 was also the year that West Virginia defeated Louisville in the Final Four.

Lets's see... out of 5 starters, UK had 3 guys from KY (2 from Lex.), 1 from TN, and 1 from IN. Louisville starters were from NY, NJ and MS respectively. Even though UK doesn't start so many KY players now, it was more likely back then (I miss that) and is one of the reasons why UK historically had such a strong fan base in River City.

Sounds like Ohio, Dayton, Xaiver, and Cincinnati for years tried to play Ohio State in basketball. For years they where met with silence, but Ohio State never had a problem answering the phone for Bowling Green or Toledo.

back in those days 1959 was only 24 years before that, now its been 26 years since that dream game...idc though that they lost then bc UK owns the series anyway

    ........and on probation .
Great recruiter, love his DDM offense , however too much baggage and can't coach in crunch time.

So much for Baylor huh? You just better hope UK doesn't play that same way against the Cards.

UK is trying to stop playing Louisville in all sports. Real shame. At least UNC & Duke embrace their rivalry....Can't wait to get revenge against UK next weekend...The single biggest game in Louisville sports history....I doubt it is for UK with the attitude 98% of their fans have and their admin. But first those UK freshman have to get past Baylor....Honestly, good luck UK.....This is the NCAA Tourney not the SEC. What happened to that Vandy game?

I have to say, it does suck that UK is in somewhat of crappy situation. If they win, they were supposed to....if they lose, EPIC FAIL. They have all the pressure. Louisville has already well exceeded expectations, however you card fans quickly forget the failure of the 09 UL team in the Elite Eight. I guess this was Rick's chance to make up for it.
