In this video I have described the Canadian Poultry industry at the federal and provincial level with a focus on the poultry production in Alberta. I have explained four different poultry commodities in Canada, which are broiler chickens, broiler breeders, table egg layer, and turkey.

Thanks for the great questions, I can answer as best as I can. Your job experience will count for your future jobs, so you will need to keep your resume updated with your job skills and experiences. For broiler breeder industry you need to have a good understanding of growth patterns and feed restriction types in broiler breeders. Overall, management skills are important. If you start a job and try to learn more and more and try to use your learnings to help people, you will grow in your career. I think the minimum experience is hard to define. overall, you need to fit the industry in every aspect (knowledge, hard work, patient, eager to learn more, effective communication skills with producers, etc).

Thanks for your comment. Marketing boards set the price. For example in case of broiler meat, the marketing board of broiler chicken producers sets the price.

overall, there are more broiler farms than the breeder farms. However, it is hard to answer the question. There might be job opportunities in every sector (broiler, broiler breeder, layer, Turkey, etc) so you will need to check the job postings regularly.
