I agree, that the only fans who come close to us, are the Dutch. I love their fans. They're like us, in that they're there to have a great time and party.
Plus those who migrated here years ago. Which might be a few thousands too. Btw. Sorry you guys had to leave today. We Germans had a lot of fun with your fans and hope you will return one day with the same spirit as for this tournament.
@@TheVirdra Thank you, but we didn't deserve to qualify. Steve Clarke's tactics were far too negative. He should've been going all out to beat the Swiss, and all out to beat the Magyars.
He got too wrapped up in looking for 4 points from the group, rather than looking for 6 once the Germans gubbed us.
I had a horrible feeling, as soon as he started going on about 4 points, that it wasn't going to happen. it was such a negative way to approach the final 2 games. Had he gone for it, and we still get knocked out, then fair enough, but we never really gave it a go.
I hope Germany go on to win the tournament. I feel a real bond has been created between our Nations during this tournament, which i think will last. All the very best.

The Scots and their Tartan Army made this Euro that amazing. It was an honour to have them in our country. Can't whait for them to come back. They have been perfect guests.

Two flowers are associated symbolically with Scotland, the thistle and the white rose.
But that's not what this song's about. The flower in the song is a metaphor, as used in the phrase 'flower of a generation', the generation who fought and died for their country's freedom.

I think it is amazing seeing/hearing all these ordinary Scottish football fans/supporter's of all their Scottish club league teams coming together and to sing in harmony their love/passion for their country! Country comes first, as we know we will never be world beaters, but just like that wee spider in yon cave - You got to keep trying! There will never be any better anthem or country like Scotland!

To called yourself the "best small country" you'd have to demonstrate you're better than these places, but Scotland is nowhere near. It has higher crime, higher obesity, worse health, higher drugs death, stupid Draconian speech laws, some of the worst poverty in Europe and failing health and education systems.

There are many factors to the Scotland England rivalry, not least of which is the centuries of invading each other and battles but if you want to just stick to football, it’s the oldest football rivalry. The first international football match was between Scotland and England in 1872…but in reality it’s the more than a millennia of fighting and differences that were in no way resolved by either the Union of the Crowns in 1603 (when the Scottish king James VI inherited the English throne too on the death of Elizabeth I to become James VI of Scotland and James I of England) or by the Act of Union 1707 which joined the two countries politically.

I think Flower of Scotland is probably one of the most passionate if not THE most passionate National Anthems in the world and what makes it even more powerful is the rendition of our National Anthem by our fantastic Tartan Army.🥰

Paul, this is The Corries singing "Flower of Scotland". The first guy to sing is Roy Williamson, who wrote this song, which has become the Scottish Anthem. Sadly, Roy died far too young. The other part of the duo (Ronnie Brown) continued Roy's legacy...

It is their national anthem, it's not heard often as they rarely make it to any major tournaments in any sport

As an exiled Scot, I really hate our dirge of an anthem.
It's negative, bitter, backwards looking, introspective, self pitying and slow, plodding and dreary.
Sums up the Scottish mentality of "it's hard being me, feel sorry for me, because I'd rather wallow in pity than help myself"
