- I remember wondering if had Mark got his powers young,Nolan been upfront with Mark from the start and raised him as a Viltrumite conqueror if they’d had a similar dynamic to Queen Lizard and Prince Lizard (replacing passive aggressive verbal/emotional abuse with physical violence). - I like how unlike the comics we keep getting scenes with the original Guardians and they establish that they were quite talented/strong and had Nolan not taken them by surprise they could have lasted longer against him and maybe taken him down. - I already liked Eve in Season 1 but this special confirmed her as one of my favorites on the show. Really hope we get similar specials that cover Rex’s and Cecil’s backstories too
Nolan had no idea how to deal with the idea of developing attachments and love. He wasn't prepared to become more human after thousands of years of being a menace.
I loved this one shot not just because it gave us Eve's origin and was so wwll animated but it exemplifies the core if the series, doing a relatable super hero universe with emphasis on both deconstruction and straightforward super hero elements with grounded characterization. I thought this was an excellent way to show us how the second season would build on the first and just go HAM. 😂
It is implied that Eve really is "special", and by that i mean on the spectrum. Signs of autism are hinted all throughout the movie; her staring into space, abnormally genius, excelling in one or two fields but struggling with other fields, attending special school with special needs, people calling her weirdo or freak, etc. And the title itself (quite genius tbh). That's why her father don't want to acknowledge her talent, it shames him to even think he has a daughter like that. Her mother, while way less harsh and more accepting, actually dismisses her condition by saying maybe she's just too smart, because she still wishes her to be like any normal kid. And this family setup and child conditioning really do happen irl, sadly.
While I loved this special the one thing I found difficult to believe was the friend completely dropping Eve when she found out about her powers. I get being being a little freaked out at first, but this is a world where people with powers are a normal thing so the friend not eventually coming around seemed weird. But that's a minor nitpick.
They’re not on youtube, theyre uploaded using patreon’s video uploader. I haven’t tried it myself but might be worth researching if you can airplay it or use patreon on your tv
That's not a Persona awakening level, a Persona awakening moment is the moment the main character realized that he can do "supernatural" stuffs in between doing his day-to-day life. Eve already had that moment when she realized that she can rearrange atoms for the first time. What she had in the lab was more like a Super Saiyan moment getting a superpower upgrade, where it looked like she gained omniscience and by gaining omniscience she gained omnipotence, two qualities of a God. Now we know that basically Atom Eve can become God Eve.
To be fair, being afraid of unknown and weird shit is exactly why humans are still alive. I definitely wouldn't wanna be near a kid with superpowers who has no experience to control them. I mean just look at Shigaraki's back story.
absolutely LOVED this special episode about eve!!!!
So continuing on to Season 2 then ?

@Trabsolnot everyone wants to read the comics, and the scenes you mentioned happened wayyy later on anyway.
The Guardians canonically would have defeated Omniman had they been warned in advance about his attack.
Take a shot each time Emme says the word 'disturbing' 😂
The oddness that her siblings heard evey day about how perfect Eve is, yet in he life she'd heard every day that she was a disappointment.
Really loved the Atomeve special. I hope they do Rex's backstory before season 3 drops.

Atom Eve had an epic Persona awakening fr 🙌 I loved this and hope we get more spinoffs like it 🦸♀️ Also the music 🎶
Eve's adoptive father is a total tool.
Eve's parents wanted a normal normal normal kid and just couldn't handle the idea she would not fit, even slightest, outside of that.

Who’s worse Omni man or this at least Omni man has some empathy and compassion for mark
Just wait till you see Rex's backstory...

Cream Cheese and Olive sandwich is vomit-inducing.

Atom Eve is such a great character and has a real journey throughout the series I can't wait to see how they do it.
Early crew. (14 seconds)
