This is so well written. The person who is writing this must've been in a toxic relationship themselves. The atmosphere, the snide comments, the tension, the gas lighting, the lies .... so realistic. Well done.
Yup! He reminds me of many abusive men and the way he weaponizes her mental health reminds me of being Belle in certain situations sadly, so I hope given her disorder they writers keep it 💯 and don't try to make her turn bad and blame her disorder again as that just helps real life Toms have ideas when they don't base it on reality of life with someone with bipolar instead of a stigma riddled one as other soaps have *coughs* Hollyoaks...b

@TheSpiciestGinger totally agree. Exposing one's vulnerabilities to people like that is such a bad idea. You have to be very certain about someone's intentions before exposing yourself like that.
He doesn't even have the decency to help. Instead he just stands over his crying wife, who is on her knees, trying to gather up her mother's remains, refusing to accept any blame. This guy just makes you hate him more and more with every episode.

It may not go to the hitting stage , this is conceive abuse. The constant belittling and making Belle believe that she’s not good enough, her career isn’t as important as his. Isolating her from family by putting them down. Eventually she probably won’t see her family isolating her further so she HAS to “rely” on him. If she’s not working he’ll control money too.
Trying to make her have a family instead of concentrating on her career meaning, that she will be at home all day, Tom knowing exactly where she is. The next stage will be technology to watch her every move.
We’ve already seen Tom injure himself just to get Belles attention then belittle her for wasting the docs time.

It’s all about control belittling her family aswell as her is part of isolating her from them. He wants total control over what Belle does, her every move, doesn’t want her having a career he’s already saying he earns enough without her working. All part of keeping her at home and slowly eating away at her confidence. She will gradually become a shell of herself.

Some of the storyline is a bit superficial. If the writers are going to include domestic abuse, controlling behaviour, the build up should be much more complex, darker, and insidious.
