Play calling needs to get sorted out, we don’t have the ability to run the ball between the tackles very well, and it’s likely 50-50 player skill and play design.

Between the flag on B Jones...the OPI on Pickens...the no call on Harris helmet getting ripped off and the bullshit call that negated the Watt strip sack...it's amazing we won this game. Refs have been so fucking horrible to start the season.

Refs don’t know the freaking rules. Pickens was shoved as he dove for the ball. It was caught. However you are not down until being touched AFTER possession..not before possession. Yeah, how a player can get shoved in the face in front of the refs..yet the fouls offset was another doozy. They also confused jumping the count earlier with being offsides. Just an overall terrible officiating crew.
League and refs making it clear T.J. not getting DPoY early.

The officiating in this game was abysmal. The downed Pickens play, the TJ offsides, the offensive interference call, the punter getting injured and it’s called a penalty on us, Najee getting his entire helmet ripped off with no call?? Horrible stuff
Jay W is still nursing a hamstring injury. That’s why he wasn’t implemented in the game more.

It’s pretty clear that according to the “script” the falcons were supposed to win this game. Every single call went against the Steelers and I’m sure even falcons fans could acknowledge that.
I'm not typically one to be salty at refs. It's just something you have to overcome and they aren't perfect, but yesterday was a little ridiculous. Najee's helmet, Pickens PI, Broderick's bogus unsportsmanlike, and the TJ offsides were all pretty egregious calls.
On the brighter less bitchy side, I liked Arthur Smith's gameplan and thought on an individual level most of our players performed pretty damn well.
Best defense in the NFL and they are leading the AFC north at 1-0 while the ravens browns and bengals are all 0-1. Great day to be a Steeler.

Funny thing is todat I tubed into several TV talking heads today and no one mentioned how bad the refs were. Its the NFL and the Steelers
Going for it on 4th down on the second to last drive was the stupidest call I've ever seen. Kick the field goal and the worst the Falcons could do was TIE on their last drive. Instead they got nothing and gave the Falcons 7 minutes to score and go ahead.
This play highlighted one of tomlins massive weaknesses. The team was discombobulated. They seemed confused then you could see Atlanta selling out to stop the QB sneak. Coach..call a f ing time out. He has absolutely no game management skills. The way the D was playing..I can see going for the knockout punch..but be smarter. However..if the Steelers had scored..Austin would have implemented a super soft zone and the Vikings would have scored in two minutes. So it’s actually better the Steelers didn’t get any points.
We let Warren rest his injury, nothing to worry about.

I might be in the minority, for the most part aside from that 4th down in the redzone, I loved the playcalling. Took the guys a second to get going BUT, i think Smith was putting Fields ina perfect position to not make mistakes and build the confidence i expected the play calling to be run heavy because i mean coach smith is a wide zone guru imo. I think the play calling is much different with Russ in. I think they would throw a bit more. If JF2 continues to play i think Smith gives JF a couple more opportunities to throw the ball. But yeah, the second half playcalling was great just penalties and the fact the smith seemed to be protecting fields and trusting the defense.
If russ is healthy who is qb1? I say JF
