The grind for characters was never this bad in open beta. Even though i have all characters from the beta, its a shame that they changed it. You used to get currency to unlock characters just be playing. Same with battle pass xp. This is definitely WB just gouging their players again
I had Finn from the beta but I don’t know hot to get him in the main game now, did u automatically get the characters or did u need to get some item to unlock them
Im happy with the PvE modes but the rest of the game did not require any major changes and i cant justify the year they took to rebuild it. They just saw greed and changed all the currencies and made thinfs overly complicated. I also think games should not be allowed to offer made up currencies and items should just he priced by real money to be transparent in what you are spending.
This is a bad idea considering most people playing this game are older people who were fans of these shows. So they don't have the time to grind for all these characters lol.

The new Fighter Currency is a downgrade from the Gold (currency) from the beta. Why can’t I earn this from battling. That’s such a downgrade and just a bad design choice just so they halt your progression to boost long-term engagement
It's not pay to win lmao you can win with any character if you play them well it's just some of your favourite characters you'll need to grind alot for or just straight up pay

You need to collect another currency called Prestige, you gain that by gaining skins and other cosmetics for your account either from battle pass or buying from the shop with glemium {the purple currency aka real money} but if you played during beta it also calculates all your gained cosmetics and gives you prestige. I ended up with like 50k from my cosmetics gained through the battle passes,and then I spent like 30$ on more skins and cosmetics and im only at 59k total prestige points and it costs 100k for The Batman who laughs. Its pretty terrible, not even 1:1 ratio I believe so it will take way more than 100$ to be able to get the Batman who laugh skin. I dont think it will go away soon, but even with just battle pass cosmetics it will take a long time to get enough Prestige points,hopefully they adjust the system to not be so expensive. Not to mention the other decent skins and cosmetics that the prestige shop offers,no chance to get multiple of them without spending a ton of cash...
i hate when games lock playable charecters behind a semi-paywall like this. i mean you could get them for free but that would take hundreds of hours. seige does something very simular to this and its one of the main reasons i just do not like that game at all.
Well, given how I never played the Open Beta, let's just say my quest to unlock all characters is gonna take a while. On the plus side, there are some characters I can do for a limited time (weekly, maybe) to keep me busy as I embark on this epic quest.
I played 95% of the beta doing bots for the daily/weekly progression. I really enjoy this new rift system. Its a little too early to say how hard it will be to unlock the character currency since theres a few events that aren't available yet but i think its pretty neat.

It literally says I have no characters. Like yeah I can play shaggy but I can’t do the rifts because it keeps saying I don’t have the required characters. So do I have to get another character or do I have some sort of bug? I cant check any character menu and I can’t even change my banner or anything.
@@Michael-Cross I got 20k'ish, although i didn't spend much and haven't played after july back in 2022, had a lot of unspent gold and quit before buying the characters :(
I grinded skins like the Halloween cake skin which was a pain in the ass back then lol. I also had some other free skins and battle pass skins. The only skin I actually spent money on is the president Morty skin which is cheap.

rift cauldron is that small thing counting up when u do rifts that u get from the stars from rift missions

You need to collect another currency called Prestige, you gain that by gaining skins and other cosmetics for your account either from battle pass or buying from the shop with glemium {the purple currency aka real money} but if you played during beta it also calculates all your gained cosmetics and gives you prestige. I ended up with like 50k from my cosmetics gained through the battle passes,and then I spent like 30$ on more skins and cosmetics and im only at 59k total prestige points and it costs 100k for The Batman who laughs.
