Man to be 81 and still so incredibly sharp and vivacious, and to still be making some of your best and most gut punching work, what a treasure
At his age, every movie we get now is an extra precious gift.
Good point- that applies to so many great artists & time with those we love! 💕
Thx
Yes!!
Oh, yes, I forgot. So, obviously, they are guilty predators disguised as nice people; let's also cancel them and all their brilliant work for art, entertainment, and History for over half a century. Yep, cancel it all cuz they're on that list. Should your name pop up on some list should we proceed the same? Just curious... Cheers! @user-fi4pg5tu4eee
@user-fi4pg5tu4eee your father was on the Epstein client list and that’s how you were born able to leave such wonderful comments
@user-fi4pg5tu4eeeno they’re not.
Man I wish Mr. Scorsese would get into podcasting and gift us with an episode about whatever he wants to talk about whenever he finds the time for it. Listening to him is just so damn pleasing...
OMG what a gift to the world that would be. Like seriously I could just imagine Martin Scorsese hosting a podcast about whatever he wanted to and then inviting all his directing colleagues on the show. I can just imagine the stories these guys have about making movies.
Totally! He has such an animated and energetic way of talking...I feel energized listening to him!
Not at his age. Its amazing enough he's directing 200 million dollar movies.
I agree! I watched Conan, Letterman, Leno, Kimmel, Fallen, Carson and Colbert. All those talk shows are awesome and funny but they’re out of this era. Nowadays everybody provides deep and long interviews. And this generation likes it!
I recommend watching Scorsese interviews with Charlie Rose 👍
@@mohammedalrashed1928 Charlie Rose? No matter how good an interviewer he is, why would "this generation" want to support a creep sexual-harrasser? It's disgusting that celebs are willing to be interviewed by him.
Martin Scorsese is a national treasure.
Every movie he has made is truly iconic.
Thanks so much for having him on.
Well.. not necessarily every movie. But he's got a great batting average.
World treasure 😊

Why do you hate Trump?

Aren't you gonna ask me how I knew this about you?
I mean...ive never met you before. Heck.. I still haven't met you. I just asked you this random question about one of your preferences and BINGO.....I got it right.
Again...without knowing anything about you.
Pretty crazy how I knew....dont you think?
81 and sharp as a tack. Amazing.
Α legend. A true artist and star.
Always love hearing him talking. Everything he says is very educational and fun!!
What a legend and inspiration! There will never be another like this man. A true storyteller and one of a kind filmmaker
What an incredible human being. The energy coming off him is contagious.
You editing me? You cutting me for time?
🤣🤣
😅😅 How is it sentence ?
Say hello to my little mouse.

He’s so interesting to listen to and a true living legend. Fun tidbit about the ‘you talking to me scene’
I love, love hearing these great stories involving people I grew up watching and admiring, and now they're "old-timers" and living legends. It's great to hear these stories that can last generations. Warms my heart.
Top 3 director in my opinion. So glad to have experienced his art. Live long, old friend!
Love him even more now! What a gift to the world Martin Scorsese is.
Floored how in this man managed to have me sit down for close to 4 hours for a movie and love every minute of it.
What an absolute delight!❤
Those videos are so great, I just happened to find them and they made me so happy!!!
Man... wish I had a cool friend we called 'The Hat'. I just had a guy in junior high we called 'Foreskin'. He wasn't cool at all.
* kicks the dirt *
😂😂😂
That's what 'The Hat' was referencing...same thing, really.
Scorsese seems like such a likeable guy. His friendship with De Niro is incredible. They've made so many legendary films 🙌🏼
Hey, it's movie grandpa 🎥👴🏻
ALWAYS love hearing him talk about films.
04:22 Man, u really can tell he's a good storyteller. That Indian accent was spot on.
I enjoyed tremendously this interview, Martin is a legend, every time he open his mouth he is teaching history.
Love mean streets. Killer soundtrack too!
Bingo. Mean Streets.
@@DARWINZOO favorite scene Johnny boy dancing alone before he gets in the car.
@davidperez5089 I'm all about walking into the bar, to The Rolling Stones.
Trite yes. Influential to my teens? Also yes. Trying to watch Flowers. Meh
@@DARWINZOO watch flowers?
@davidperez5089 It's not working for me. I paused last night, but only because I needed it, ok, a pause. I managed to avoid the plot spoilers until..damn! An article in the NYT this AM, with clearly the best actress.
What's with the music?!?
It's falling into tropes and, surprisingly, short on history. No, I don't want a "documentary" just seems more could be done. Certainly have the time.
I need to study it more. Cinematography especially.
Gonna skip this one for a Letterbxd review, God forbid, stars. Edit for a Letterbxd review written by me. And I already know, my film major son, will hate it. So at least I don't have him to whine about it.
Wow. Great interview. I didn't realize he grew up in old Little Italy. I lived on Mott off of Houston in the 70's, now so posh it's almost unrecognizable.
He's a living legend. We're privileged to watch him on live tv
What a truly enjoyable interview ❤
Thank you
Me too. I'm glad stephen had him on the whole program.
Such a wonderful character. ❤
When he talks,I don't look at his mouth.I look at his eyebrows.
I’d kill for just _one_ of his eyebrows. I could replenish mine and still have plenty over for a decent moustache.
Probably one of my FAV. scene in the movie.❤
Great vibe from Mr. Scorsese
Oh that was a really good interview thank you
When I was living and working in LA in the early 90's, one of the first things I did was go to the library at the Motion Pictures Arts & Science and read the shooting script for Taxi Driver. That scene has only one short line of description. It's completely improvised. I love that movie. Now I'm off to look at these tik toks Marty is talking about.
I KNEW IT!!! Thank you for confirming this, Martin.
Goddam I love the fact the a guy like Scorsese is doing silly Tiktoks. Martin Scorsese, all time great director, and Tiktok Star.
Of course the lines were improvised. It was Robert DeNiro being directed by Martin Scorsese
Great interview!
Hearing about those neighborhoods in NYC and the sounds the jukebox made the 50's songs my father rented a bar where I am from in the late 50s and
bought a Wurlitzer jukebox for the bar a nickel for a song the records on it from 1957 to 1959 basically that jukebox has speakers and when record selected plopped over and needle hit it the songs were amazing coming out of its belly. The jukebox after bar closed for good was moved into our basement and my brothers would have parties kinda like their own club dancing to these songs drinking beer etc. I heard these songs coming up thru the grates in the walls of our early 1900s house . Quite a memory good to hear him tell it-outstanding in his young life he is about my brothers age born during the war both of them
"YOU TALKIN' TO ME?!" Actually first was in the Movie SHANE! Robert probably grew up loving that movie. "I know too much!"
Best eyebrows right now
are great directors speaks this way so enthusiastic? Both him and Tarantino speaks tis way in every interview. It feels like they are not an interview but just talking in a normal way and its so much so good to listen.
"You talkin to me" is literally the best part of Taxi Driver. I love that scene.
One of the most conscience directors of all time, because he does all his research before production starts he has empathy for all the characters and situations.
What a career this man has had ! Incredible interview .. thank you Stephen .
He created so many truly amazing movies. Love and respect to you, Martin. Wonderful to see your mother in 'Goodfellas'. She had a nice personality and seemed like a nice lady.
His dad was also in Goodfellas as Vinnie...
Legends! 🇺🇸🏴
Omg soooo cute! Daddy’s girl😁🌹
Wow, blast from the past!
A Legend of Our Time 🏆
I never realised how cute and funny and nice Mr.Scorcese is
Best ever!
I wouldn't mind hanging out with #SirMartinScorsese! What a terrific person!
❤📽🎬
His brain is phenomenal. He’s sharper than me and I’m half his age
At this point, in 2024, I think anyone that cares already knows that Di Nero improvised that line.
The Alto Knights Social Club was a Genovese crime family hang-out located at 86 Kenmare Street. I would have loved to hear more about what DeNiro and his crew were doing there. Unfortunately, Stephen didn’t take the bait…
That Indian director is none other than Anurag Kashyap. One of the finest director in Bollywood who was invited to one of the 4 directors Martin invited to watch uncut version of 'the wolf of Wall Street '
Thank you for your kind information bro
People never mention his 5 mins on taxi driver ,
I thought his acting was 10/10
I thought it was great
He played himself , a verbose deviant 😂
what a wonderful demonstration of the advantages of being in an old boys'club!! fantastic reapings, really.
Legends right here
Love Martin✨💃✨😊✨
He's actually very cool!!!
I mean the mirror (You Talking to me?) Scene is totally different than anything in the Movie SHANE,it's just that I think that it might of subconsciously inspired Robert to go to that mirror all geared up and start a fight with himself.
He deserves an Oscar!
Never get tired of listening to him.
Pure genius
Legend X
Legend
The suit is beautifully made and fits him impeccably well. I would not expect anything less from this Italian American icon
Marty is a legend 👍🏻
Man I want to hear all of his stories of growing up in the china town, 7 corners area of nyc
Top tier
What a cool dude 😊
I would love to sit and hear stories from him, he's fun 🤭
I want him to live forever
it is so crazy how much talent ihas come out of new york that two all time greats casually met as teens only to reconnect later to make masterpieces
If I remember correctly DeVito and DeNiro's moms both worked at the same salon when they were coming up.
"... because he makes the best ... films, he makes the best ... films I've ever seen in my life!"
I love the movie Silence
Legend 🤷♂️
He’s really cool.
The TIK TOK!! 😂❤
Waiting for your interview with Lily Gladstone ❤
I hope he lives to to 240. I'll be long gone, but everyone after me should be so blessed.
That club he mentions on Kenmare Street was probably a Mafia club. There used to be a number of them in Little Italy.
Thank you. I was wondering if club was the more polite way to say gang or something.
@@calmyourmind5665 There used to be a whole bunch of these storefront "clubs" in Little Italy. They usually had the name of a Saint. They would put little statuettes in the store front windows. I think that Scorcese included one of these kind of clubs in "Mean Streets".
Most of these clubs disappeared in the 90s.
Remember the opening of Sopranos when Tony goes from the city to the suburbs? I think that was meant to show how the Mafia moved out to the suburbs.
Like going to a high school reunion
I read & heard that the original scene description in the script was something like "Travis stares at himself in a mirror to get ready", then DeNiro took that & ran with it
This afternoon i watched hogo it was just an amazing movie this ditecter is so smart
I'm almost 40, but the first time i ever actually heard of Martin Scorsese was in an episode of Animaniacs where the Good Feathers were doing a parody of West Side Story. I knew what West Side Story was, i had heard of the movie Good Fellas and i knew who Joe Piesci was from watching rented VHS tapes of the Lethal Weapon movies my parents would pick up from the grocery store. I knew of the Godfather movies and Taxi Driver from the memes, parodies, and hearing them being brought by my parents, my uncles at family gatherings, and through other tv shows and cartoons from the late 80's and early 90's.
But that Good Feathers segment of that episode of Animaniacs had a whole song about the Good Feathers and their rival gang wanting to perch on a statue of Scorsese in the park. I had no idea he was or why he would have a statue in a park in a cartoon version of Little Italy in New York City.
It wasn't until i was in my teens and finally saw Good Fellas with my friends from highschool that it all finally came together. Then i was able to catch Taxi Driver on Turner Classic Movies and eventually caught the beginning of a Godfather 1 & 2 showing on TNT or TBS a little later that it all finally made sense!!!!
That guy looks like my grandpa💀
How interesting.
Scorsese and tarentino ; I'll never get tired of listening to them talking about movies
.
An 81 year old with that much energy and eloquence. Hmm, it's almost like a person that age can be good at his job, whatever that is.
DeNiro saw Springsteen at the Bottom Line one night. That night Springsteen said "you talking to me" on stage
His new movie is extraordinary a masterpiece of truth and the evil that is part of this country's history and am grateful dor his genius! ❤❤❤
His daughter looks so much like Miss Piggy from the muppets 🫣
WTF is wrong with you
1953 SHANE!!
I’ve seen, in the last few days, two “You talking/speaking to me?” lines in pre-“Taxi Driver” works. One in a Twilight Zine episode starring Joe Mantell and one in “Shane,” where Ladd says to a confrontational Ben Johnson, “You speaking to me?” So, good as the De Niro line is, it was hardly groundbreaking.
One more in His Girl Friday. Cary Grant says "You talking to ME?"
This is the last part of the interview. How hard is it to number them?
Three segments and no mention of the SCTV doc. Come on, Steve!
Cinema ROYALTY... but... he is also New York ROYALTY... which is even more special... to me at least.
The tie is blue
I read the script for this scene just says "talks to mirror"
