I remember watching this live and my mind was absolutely blown by the hits both fighters were taking
This is one of those fights where for real, no one lost. To perform like this at this level of adversity, for both women, is the height of courage and skill. Precious few fighters could endure this level of mental stress and physical punishment, and still fight to this level of tactical acumen and emotional fortitude.

Silly comment. The SW division is the only competitive one in the whole of women's MMA, the others are domnated by one or two highly skilled women, who roll over the other cans of the division, save for one of two upsets.

I was one of the old school men who was completely against women boxing and mma , infact especially mma.. I would of argued against anyone who was for it til I was blue in the face… but this fight here by these two warriors is by far better than 98% of all male fights in boxing or mma without a doubt… these two fought with so much heart, skill and shear fighting spirit it puts most men to shame!! I can no Longer say woman shouldn’t be fighters if they really want to them who am I to judge… but that was brilliant .. was hard to watch tho as if don’t like seeing woman get hurt👍
and understandably so, they're both potential mates. It's part of the human psyche, not your fault
I don't like seeing people get hurt in general, but this kind of sport is different. Anyone that gets inside that ring knows what they are going to potentially face. I've been training muay thai for a bit and most people make more comments about how that is good for self defense or loosing weight, but what I want is to feel how it's like to fight.

So it seems we're getting the rematch. I feel Weili will use wrestling and ensure that this time it isn't as competitive. Her wrestling is a level above what I suspect it was during this fight, and she's not defending, she wants and desperately needs a win after two loses to the current champ.

Coming back to this before the rematch, and its crazy to me that the narrative is that wei li dominated Joanna, its literally one of the most razor thin fights ever. I really wouldnt be suprised if Joanna wins this out. But this is one of those golden fights where the style and skillset of both women mean 99/100 its gonna look somewhat like this
