What was your favorite part of this living room makeover? 🌱 P.S. Wondering where anything I mentioned is from? I’ve linked everything up in the description box, so be sure to check there first! But if I missed anything, just comment below and I’ll try to get you a link! 🤍
Put a narrow long sofa table behind the couch or a narrow bookshelf. You can place drinks on it when you’re on the couch. Don’t get a coffee table, try to find two more ottomans just like the one you have next to the tall bookshelf. Bonus if they have removable tops so you can store toys and baby items.
it's so fun to see how other people decorate! Personally, I love bright colours, wallpaper and strong patterns, but I always find that a cohesive interior has a calming and welcoming effect whether it suits my taste or not. This little corner makes you want to lie down on the couch under a blanket and watch a good movie, or sit with a cup of tea and a couple of friends!
That lamp, bookshelf and ottoman honestly made a HUGE difference in filling up the space! You have such great taste in style, Ashlynne! I love how this turned out 😊❤❤
Change out the coffee table for an ottoman. Can accessorize ottoman with a tray to set decor and drinks. Tons of styles, shapes and storage options. Was tired of grandkids banging their heads and busting a lip on coffee table.
Your living room is beautiful! Don’t forget to anchor the bookcase to the wall if you haven’t done so already. Your baby will soon be climbing or trying to climb everything and book cases can easily tip over
Consider adding a large round tufted ottoman as the coffee table. It would add great texture and shape plus it would be baby friendly. Love the makeover!!!
Feel like a living room looks unfinished. I'd fix. Had round edges good for children. Lots of times my kids, grandkids used coffee table to play and if needed more floor space was small enough to move to side, which since yours small would work. Also attractive.
Ashlynne your livingroom makeover is beautiful! Your new couch is my favorite change. The wood of your coffee table is beautiful! I’d keep it if it can be fixed and made safe. What is it that you’re using to adhere your photos to your gallery wall? Also it was nice to see Christopher’s playful side. I can picture him playing dress up with your children. You guys always have the coolest costumes.
As a mom of three little ones, I personally don't think a coffee table is a good idea. Ours was always in the way, and even though it was round...my kiddos were constantly bumping into it and getting hurt. It's just not worth it in this season of life! But overall, your space looks great! Very homey and cozy 🙂
Haha thank you for the input! Maybe we’ll just keep the current one until our little guys starts crawling and then replace it with an ottoman or something 🤍🤍
I have an ottoman. It’s very soft basically the same as the sofa. I feel it would be kid friendly alternative. But I don’t have children. ** Just saw Ashley’s comment now. 😂
I’m obsessed with the updates! The rug and chairs have to be my favorite! We don’t have a coffee table currently, just a couple of side round tables to hold a drink and remote. I just love the space in front of the couch to be open so little ones can play on the rug easier.
Love the new space! With a little one on the way, I would recommend the tierd/stacked smaller coffee tables that can sit to the side of the coach and be brought out if needed when guests are over!
Wow Ashlynne - you have made your home a ‘family home’. A beautiful space to enjoy as you nurture your future baby boy….. Those 2 velvet chairs are stunning… Blessings to you and Christopher 🙏🏼
I vote keep the coffee table bc the round edges will be nice for toddlers. I had two little ones, and I liked having a coffee table at the time bc they would always play on the table. And also run around it. Then if we did floor play, I just moved the table to a corner until evening when I put it back for my night routine :)
Ashlynne, you are getting lovelier by the day during your exciting time of bringing a newborn into our world. Such an inspiration to stay active and creative to create a positive environment for your family. Stay healthy and beautiful.
It turned out so nice! Love it! Beautiful colors! I would change the coffee table to another style and maybe to another color. I think the wood is a bit too red. If I would keep it I would have painted it and of course made it stabilized.
I think I’m with you on that! But with a baby on the way, I’m thinking an ottoman might be the way to go. No sharp corners for them to run into that way 🤍🤍
I too am obsessed with how your place looks Ashlynne!! 😍 You have such an amazing eye for interior design - I love everything about it! I also love how you and Christopher are both so creative and such talented artists! With the coffee table I would just keep it until bub is crawling around, maybe then you could fix it and sell it? If you do get another coffee table I would definitely go for a round or oval one (no sharp edges!). And also, if you haven’t already, make sure the bookshelf is anchored to the wall. Also, you looked so stunning in that dress at the end - pregnancy looks so good on you 🫶🏼
Beautiful! Very tasteful! Just one piece of advice: with a little one on the way, you will have to child proof your house, so that bookcase must be anchored to the wall!!
artistic and elevated! Nice job. As far as the coffee table goes, corners can be dangerous for toddling babies. Would you recommend oval or circle or a long ottoman. Mama of four 💙
Wow that looks amazing Ashlynne! Everything you picked out is beautiful, love the sofa and the book shelf, as well as the new flowers on the coffee table they are super pretty! Home decors are one of my favorite things to watch lol! 😊
As a mom of 7, coffee tables were the #1 culprit of forehead goose eggs. End tables between furniture pieces work nicer to keep walkways clear for wobbly little feet. While not as esthetically pleasing, anything that makes mom life a bit easier is appreciated. And this time goes quickly.
Your home looks absolutely beautiful Ashlynne 😊I love the new bright colour decor and how talented and gifted you are! Lots of blessings to your family🙏❤️
What a beautiful space (before AND after). You did a great job. I'm wondering if that bookcase would work if it were centered on the wall? Also, I think I need those coffee table stems. I passed them up at Hobby Lobby, and NOW I love them! And that rug... and those chairs... and and and!😍
I would change out the coffee table and drapes. Go with maybe a dark color pulled from the rug or that green color for the drapes. This would ground the room.
I'd totally get rid of the coffee table. Get a matching ottoman. You are brave going with a light color couch and rug with a little one coming. 😊 I like the bookshelf. Very nice, Ashlynne!
Haha well the rug has so much color and pattern, integrated in it, that I am pretty hopeful about it, hiding any stains 😅 And the couch covers are all washable (and you can buy them individually if they need to be replaced). So I was trying to think ahead at least a bit 🤍
Beautiful!!! You definitely have an eye for decorating. The bookshelf is my favorite! I am getting ready to makeover my bedroom and watching this made me even more excited to do that! 😊
It looks wonderful! I would get a black coffee table that would tie in with the bookcase as well as be safe for the baby. My only other recommendation is replace some of the framed pics with other kinds of decor so it is not all pics in frames.
Replace coffee table with an ottoman with storage for toys. Don’t be afraid to cover the sofa with a blanket or quilt and remove when company comes❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love it! I love the bookcase you found! This is like the style that I want for our living room but it’s so difficult to decorate because it’s so long and narrow. Thanks for the inspiration!
I love the ivory fabric ottoman with the wood waterfall tray over it. If you Google that, you would see it from Wayfair, West Elm, or Bed-Bath-& Beyond.
I would paint the coffee table black and try repairing the leg. But, I see lots of comments giving the option of an ottoman. I think they convinced me! It would be easy to move and create bigger play spaces for your baby, and when you want to use it as a "table" you could add a tray.
I am so glad I came across your channel.i love your personality and yoyr decor style is very similar to mine so I had to subscribe, I look forward to seeing more of your videos.👍
Hi. Keep the coffee table: it has round edges - safe for children. One thing I've learned with my children is they grow up fast: keep what you love, because soon you can reintroduce the "unsafe" itens.
I think fixing the table would be an idea. It gives a stable table. whilst taking the time to find the perfect table instead of rushing to get the table ❤
Our toddler is fine with a coffee table, its a play table. (But we can't have anything remotely like a stool) We'd never get rid of ours as my grandfather and grandmother both made it ❤

I love your style, thanks for sharing! I just bought a home so I needed some inspiration 🏡
Definitely the book shelf 😍
It’s linked in the description 😘
What color are your walls in the house?
The paint color is Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore 🤍
I’d replace the coffee table with an ottoman. It would be softer for a toddler. You can always put a tray on the ottoman if you need a hard surface. 😊

Yes yes and yes! 🤍🤍 That’s exactly how I envision using the space 🥰
So fun to see your husband helping and having fun, room is beautiful!
Thank you so much!! 🥰🥰

Love that idea!! 🤍🤍
As someone who has a permanent scar on my forehead from bumping into a coffee table as a toddler, I second this idea! 😅
Your living room is beautiful!
Don’t forget to anchor the bookcase to the wall if you haven’t done so already. Your baby will soon be climbing or trying to climb everything and book cases can easily tip over
Planning on it 🤍🤍
I like the ottoman idea for a coffee table too And use a large tray for drinks and decor etc when baby is not around
Oh wow Christopher is a talented artist. Love the make over
Love his paintings & need framing. Room looks lovely and inviting. Great job.
before & after were BOTH beautiful but I feel like the new updates are so much more elevated, especially that bookshelf corner!!
Aww thank you so much!! I’m loving the bookshelf corner 🤍🤍
Consider adding a large round tufted ottoman as the coffee table. It would add great texture and shape plus it would be baby friendly. Love the makeover!!!
Love your new bookshelves! When your baby arrives, you could put wicker baskets in the bottom of the bookshelves and use them for storing toys. 😊

We got rid of our coffee table and love it! We have two small ottomans that can be easily moved around and also can be used for additional seating.
It’s beautiful. A lot of things will change when your little one arrives, but you’ll grow and evolve your home along with the baby. ❤

That's what we did we got a square tuffed Ottoman with chrome legs
Yep I have 4 kids and we’ve never had a coffee table. Not even an ottoman because my kids are huge climbers 😅
Looks great! I feel like velvet green curtains would look gorgeous in there with all the changes you made!
100%!!

I loved how your Living room looked before, however I absolutely love what you have done to it now. I adore the colours and textures ❤❤

Wow! What a lovely transformation!
If I must only pick one thing, I’m going to have to choose the chairs! 😍
Right?? I’m OBSESSED with them 😍😍

Absolutely love it! It is so cozy and sophisticated. I love the unique touches of photos, art and thrifted finds ❤
Absolutely beautiful ❤

Already in the plans 🤍 It comes with an anchoring kits and Christopher is going to do that for me
i was wondering about the floor lamp as well
I love love love how it all came together! I can’t wait to come see it in person!!
The colours blend so well. They bring more light and about your taste that sparks joy. Would you do a nursery makeover ❤
Great refresh, Ashlynne! Love your new chairs! ❤️

Hi Ashlynee,
Can you please do a video with your book collection?
such a gorgeous next iteration of this room!
I love everything but what I liked the most was the bookshelf. 🥰
Aww thank you!! LOVE the bookshelf as well 🥰🥰
Looks beautiful

Thank you!! Haha I get that! Our old living room was like that and it’s a challenge for sure!! 🤍
Ashlynne this is beautiful, I believe a tall plant would look so much better beside the bookcase instead of the ottoman
I LOVE that idea, but unfortunately that corner really doesn’t get much natural light, so most bigger plants just wouldn’t survive
Gorgeous! Love your choices & colors!
Your decorating aesthetic is beautiful and so inspiring! 💕
Aww thank you so much!! 🤍
Love it great job!!!
Frame his paintings they are so special ❤️
So lovely!! ❤
Love it!! Buuuut.... white sofa... baby-toddler.... 🤔 Can prove to be quite challenging 🍀 Spit up, juice cups, dirty hands, accidents, etc...
the transformation is truly stunning!!!!

It’s beautiful! What do you use to hang your pictures? I’m looking for something that doesn’t make holes in the walls.
Mine are hung up with command strips!!
Looks great. 😊
Did you anchor the bookcase to the wall? I’m not a parent, but it’s probably a good idea to look into if you’re bringing a baby into the house.
Adorable😊😊😊
Beautiful!
Where did your checkered blanket come from? I'm obsessed
Found it at Marshall’s 🤍
