17:25 "the lowest of the budget" it's funny. Wean reboot was starts, video games was still 2D. no PlayStation, no N64, no Sega saturn. it was a the highest budget animated show back then.

Ninja Turtles and Animaniacs were two of my favorites growing up, but Care Bears were a little before my time and Magic School Bus came later. I loved the Disney cartoons, but Mighty Ducks wasn't my cup of tea, I much preferred Darkwing for my superhero Duck.
Jem actually is another legacy cartoon from the Hanna barbera era that scooby doo is from. Basically kids solving mysteries or crimes with rock or pop in the background. It’s also directly descended from the Josie and the Pussycats cartoon with music being a big focus. The reboot movie unfortunately bombed bad.
Yep. lost gem. With the darkness, character development etc. It was something of the outer space even then. But you cannot get to know it from the intro only... or even one episode.
First impressions suck. I doubt many who've watched Jem and the Holograms, or Gargoyles would have given them low points. Gargoyles was one of the best cartoons on TV in it's day. Reboot... remember that cartoons weren't in 3D back then. It was Reboot and Transformers: Beast Wars. That's it. You should stick these kids in front of a full episode of something like Count Duckula, Danger Mouse, or David the Gnome.
Reboot was really a revolutionary show in terms of computer graphics. They started off like Toy Story and other animated movies started by painstakingly animating the mouths, but quickly wrote software that they could paste in the text of what they were saying and the software would animate the mouth for them. Later on in the show, they wrote software that would take the actor's voices and move the mouths to their performance. They also went on to pioneer some of the techniques uses in soft body animation still used today. It may not look that great, but they were really pushing the envelope on what could be done on a weekly TV show at the time.
Now do one with w/ educational shows throughout the decades. 3-2-1 Contact, Reading Rainbow, Square One TV, Ghostwriter, Wishbone, Where in the World is Carmen San Diego & anything else you want to throw in..
I’ve got a lot of 80’s and 90’s tv shows on dvd that I still watch on special occasions and I reckon some of those teens would have given those shows different ratings if they watched them
First of all, how big were those bowls of cereal? 😱😱 'Reboot' wasnt a great show, but the reference to the technology used was terrible. They must remember that these shows werent made today. It was the first step that gives you the CGI you enjoy in todays shows... He-Man was an amazing show, it was worth watching for the lesson alone
Jem's singer (starred on JEM) was recently the guest lead singer (as Jem?) in a GUNSHIP song (UK Synthwave group) - a love letter to the series - called Holographic Heart.
This makes me wanna cry! The Best ones they just dismiss (Mighty Ducks, Animaniacs, Gargoyles) and the one everyone knows (TMNT) they have no idea on the names...though I question how the one knew She-Ra and not He-Man....Reboot was the only one I failed to know even if I recall seeing the three main characters.
I assume she knew She-Ra from the newer version. I could be wrong, of course. Out of these, the only one I didn't watch was The Magic School Bus, but then I was off trying to make money to go to college, then, too.

But they do call out that Donkey Kong Country, which came out the same year, was at least partially CGI, and looked better. but it was still a sidescroller (mainly), and MUCH more limited in scope, of course. (They said it came out the year before, but it didn't.)
And then Toy Story comes out the next year, and blows everything else out of the water.
"My mom has a Care Bear tattoo."

Need to show these kids
..Biker Mice from Mars, Street Sharks, Tailspin, Pirates of Darkwater, Cow and Chicken and Buckey O'hare
Gargoyles was a solid 9.2.. these kids dont know what they missed out... todays kids shows are trash compared to 90's and 80's better shows...
Right!
Yep. lost gem. With the darkness, character development etc. It was something of the outer space even then. But you cannot get to know it from the intro only... or even one episode.
The disrespect to ReBoot :(
It's all about eye candy for them not substance.
Mainframe got better at CG animation when they made Beast Wars.
Especially the selfish Lucas who’s been on react for long time as a kid
These kids don’t even know. reboot was cutting edge in 1994! 😂
That was my jam
First impressions suck. I doubt many who've watched Jem and the Holograms, or Gargoyles would have given them low points. Gargoyles was one of the best cartoons on TV in it's day. Reboot... remember that cartoons weren't in 3D back then. It was Reboot and Transformers: Beast Wars. That's it.
You should stick these kids in front of a full episode of something like Count Duckula, Danger Mouse, or David the Gnome.
For some reason, if you talk to people about Reboot or Beast Wars, hardly anyone seems to remember them. Those shows were awesome.
@@Herbicide420 By me, they (back to back I think) were on at like 5 or 6am... so I don't doubt that.
They didn't get the reboot one because it was a Canadian show that was way ahead of its time and it was super dark for a kids show.
Maybe so but Reboot was amazing
@@jerodwatson6492It was on ABC here in the US

'Reboot' wasnt a great show, but the reference to the technology used was terrible. They must remember that these shows werent made today. It was the first step that gives you the CGI you enjoy in todays shows...
He-Man was an amazing show, it was worth watching for the lesson alone
Normal size bowl to me
Jem's singer (starred on JEM) was recently the guest lead singer (as Jem?) in a GUNSHIP song (UK Synthwave group) - a love letter to the series - called Holographic Heart.
Magic Schoolbus won?!
Unbelievable...
They would have never gotten Pirates of Dark Waters
im gen x and i would not have gotten that one.
