In my years of experience in the industry I've noticed that it's always the amateurs criticising other's work. Every single time that you ask to see their work it would be the biggest pile of crap. This wasn't a paid job, it was a much needed comprehensive and thorough review about this product. Something you won't find easily anywhere online about this device.

Place your headphones on either port of the audio out (L / R ) then increase the input volume from your sound mixer / sound card then go to the onboard mixer ( Avmatrix) and increase it to your desired setting while you listen in through the listen button
Well they need to fix that file record mess. No one uses FAT anymore and it's a nightmare to reassemble.
How to update firmware
Pls I have problems with the syncing of External Audio and videos using this mixer, the audio is usually delay on the recording and also on the led screens. What is the solution in syncing Audio?

I just got one of this, how do I set up for streaming on Facebook directly from it?
If you have this exact model you will need a capture card to take the output from the switcher into your computer via USB. There is also a newer model that already has that built in. Either way, you will then need to just go to your fb page and under "whats on your mind" click the live video. Once in the live producer page, then drop down from the camera option and you should see either your USB capture card or the AVmatrix USB as a camera there.

Just got this machine and I am seeing an issue that is also on your video. The FTB button is CHOPPY. The fade is not smooth at all. Have you found a fix for this?
does anyone experiment that for heavy-duty work like working for long time outdoor in hot temperature, we are using DataVideo HS-2800 and so for there is no problem in extreme working conditions.

Here is a link to our show last month for the Irish Music Weekend. It's just two cameras. One locked down and one manned. All switched and camera operated by one guy! ha! Covid Times! The Cameras were Vixia XA 35's.

How can i link it to another laptop with Vmix or if i have gtzip files (graphics) how can i use it ( that is if i want to do sports incase of Overlays like the score, substites, sponsors etc.)
what kind of cameras can i use. I just bought 4 sdi cameras but turns out they are not compadible because they are sd tvi . I am not sure what the difference is, but will I have to get adapters for everything or is there a certian kind of camera I can sue straight into mixer?

Thanks for the insight. My vision mixer is only displaying different colors on the screen. I am unable to see the interface and navigate. It's just changing colors I see on the screen after switching it on. What could be the issue?
Hmmm not sure what you are experiencing. I would download the software and run it on your PC. Many of the controls are available in the software. You might just need to adjust output settings.. Sales@avmatrix.net for the PC software.

Thank you for this video. You did a great job in explaining the features. I have one of these units, and I am having a problem showing the pics/videos from my usb. They appear to always be loading but never show up. Does the USB need to be formatted in any particular way, or is there another solution?
I have also noticed a delay at times. Not all the time so I am not entirely sure on this. I would contact AVmatrix and see what they say. Not sure what the support email is but I know you can reach them through sales. sales@avmatrix.com

Hi Michelle. I have my left and right plugged into the TRS input, but I cant seem to get audio in. The plan is to send audio and video via hdmi to my streaming computer. Any pointers?
Hey I'm not Michelle but I can assist. On the menu setting ensure your audio mode is on mixer for onboard mixing and AFV while using individual camera inputs. Then use USB c as your capture card recipient into your streaming computer so as to add it as the camera input.
Can I use this as my video mixer for video synth?
Can you add a overlay from usb like can you display logo on output if you can how do you do it?
Hi, go to the media section on the video 15:20 to see how to use the USB portion. Your logo should be a .PNG to preserve the transparency.
Could you please tell me what I should do with it when usb 6 and usb5 does not function and I’m new to this... and even the sdi channels...
Not entirely sure what you mean but you can change the input on 5 and 6 by hitting the button just above the key “IN 5 or IN 6” that toggles the input for those channels. What is going on with you SDI channels? No image?
Thank you for this great review, I bought the AVMatrix PVS0615 recently and I find that it doesn't record audio to the SD card. Just video. Is there a way to go around this?
I've done this before as well! You just have to be sure the audio mixer is on and you are sending signal to the output. You should see the meters on the multi-view monitor and also should be able to monitor with headphones out of the side 1/8mm jack.
Cool product. Is there a way to crop scenes in this? So you can make 1 camera appear to be multiple cameras?

How do you output the signal to say a LIve U or other encoder to get to a social media platform TIA ?
Hi Chris, you can output via HDMI or SDI to your encoder of choice. This unit has 3 SDI outputs and 2 HDMI outputs.
PIP settings (size/position) can be saved to keys for "fast toggle during production"?
Unfortunately, there are no pre-sets available but you can size in preview and take to pgm. It will save the last sizing and position automatically.

Hello, I Can use a logo and make chroma-key with a reporter simultaneous, or logos is only with luma-key? You can´t use both, right?
It will do one overlay at a time. So either Chroma, Luma or PIP but only one at a time...
I know this is and older vidoe I've watched before. I'm wondering how it has held up. I know because of covid you may not have used as much as you want but I would like some feed back on your thoughts now.
Hi, Actually, I have been using it for our remote live streams. It goes on site and I stream from the studio. Its still one of my favorite little switchers!
@@ProVideoGO Thanks that is good to know. I use a lot of another brand, that holds up well but this seems to be a more complete solution for remote work. It may be the next tool in the arsenal. I had to build a box to do what this does and this is about the size of a gaming laptop. Much more convenient

It is still running however the record function no longer works. Also, the TRS input has noise so I no longer use that. It does not overheat and is still useful!

Still have a few more questions though:
1. Does it scale the inputs? Meaning, can i plug in a 1080i50 camera and a 1080p25 camera and a 720p camera and a laptop and output to let's say 1080p or 1080i?
Or does all inputs has to be the same resolution?
2. Luma key- I'm planning on hooking up a laptop running vMix to the HDMI Input and output from vMix lower thirds animation and such on a green background that i want to key out in this unit. From your experience, how well does this work? It doesn't seem to have any fine tuning adjustment of the color that is keyed out so I'm wondering if that's a good worflow.
Also, when you press the Luma key button, how exactly does it act? does it just puts preview on air with Luma?
3. Audio delay- the video's audio was cut out when you played with that setting... The numbers there are frames being delayed or something else?
4. AUX- can i choose any input as an AUX video out or just PGM and PRW?

Hi Eli, I know we have corresponded via email but thought I would answer your questions here also for others to see.
1. You can use any resolution in and it will output to any of these options: 1080p @50/60/30/25/24 or 1080i @ 50/60
2. The Luma and Chroma key works great but has only one adjustment setting for finding the correct color gamut. When you press the Luma/Chroma key it will key out the color you have set up (blue/green/black). You then take that to PGM after your adjustments are made.
3. Audio delay: there are 0-30 degrees on audio delay setting, 20ms per degree. The audio and video time difference depends on inputs and outputs formats, usually, we suggest customers set the audio delay degrees value at about 12-13 first, often the audio and video will synchronize. If not, can adjust 1-2 a little according to the real situation
4. AUX is only PVW or PGM at this time.

You can either add a computer as an input and run PowerPoint with lowerthirds ( search youtube for how to vids on this) or you can use the USB input and put png files of the lower thirds on the USB stick. (also search youtube for how to make lowerthirds)

Hi. I have a Roland V-1SDI switcher rack mounted together with blackmagic duo screen and hyperdeck mini. My question is would you recommend me to upgrade to this brand and model? Thanks
Hi, This model comes with a monitor built into the unit. It is not really designed for a rack but you could add a sliding shelf and secure it to that. This unit will do POP (Picture outside of Picture). I believe the V-1SDI only does only PIP (Picture on Picture). Also this unit will record right to an SD card. Personally, I prefer this over the Roland V1 although I do miss having the options for pre-sets. This unit does not have that.
AVolution / ProVideoGO understood. But for your own opinion.. how is it as a brand? Also as the unit itself is it rock solid compare to other brand like datavideo? Thanks
This unit seems very solid and well made in my opinion. My Roland V-1SDI is sitting on the shelf now. That being said, I have only had it in use for a couple months now so time will tell but it does seem solid. Also, AVMatrrix (the Manufacturer) is very responsive and nice to deal with. They are very in tune to having quality products.
Can you change the background of POP ?
Hmem Mohamed , unfortunately no. It’s a black background.
What about using Chromakey?
This unit allows for Blue or Green Chroma key but it is very basic in that it lacks for the fine tuning that you might find elsewhere.

Any USB or SDI card would work but I prefer Magewell or Ephiphan AV.Io cards.
Nice unit. Do you have any experience with the Roland VR-1HD, If so how do they compare other than this has a built in monitor.
I also own a Roland V1-SDI but not a VR-1HD. The reason I went with this one besides the monitor, is the POP option. That allows for side by side 16x9 windows. This unit also has both SDI and HDMI ins and outs, plus the monitor which is an amazing add. I also love that it isn’t much bigger than a gaming laptop. Oh and USB media store and playback is a plus too...
Oh and it records in 1080

how about delays and internal video processing? I mean delays between what is happening in the room and what you see on the screen. How about video delay over the audio and also what is a latency on the media selection? I mean how long do you have to wait when you choose image or video to load?
Hi Janusz, Thank you for your questions. 1. There is barely a noticeable delay between the live action and the switched output. Maybe 20 Milliseconds. (This is an estimation ) 2. I have not noticed an obvious audio delay so have not used the audio delay option settings that are in the system settings panel. 3. So if you go between video and image in the media panel it takes about 3-5 seconds to sync in. Image to image is just less than a second. The part that seems to take the longest is when you first access the usb input. that can take 5 or more seconds but if you have already accessed it once, it seems to sync in quicker the second time.

Hi Jorge, there is a newer version of this switcher that does allow for the direct broadcast without a PC/Mac. PVS0615U model.

Hi, you would need a capture card to go from the switcher into your computer (sdi or hdmi to USB) then any capture software (OBS, Vmix, Wirecast etc) will see it as a source.

Hello don´t have video from USB with logo?
You can have both video and a logo stored on one usb but can use only one at a time. You could use both usb ports however to attain a logo overlay on top of a video played from the other usb input.

Hello we be able to switch between cameras with a fixed logo from USB door? If I have the logo on usb1 and use a video on usb2 i will lose the logo? Thank you
You can overlay the logo on top of the video with either the chroma key or the luma key function. So you could have either camera or video in program and then overlay the logo off of the other usb port.
