Two antennas sent into the channel by JUNSHUNTONG of Amazon for review. I test them on the VNA. I notified the vendor about the one antenna. They verified it was a 1030/1090 antenna and have changed their listing.

Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love and got married. The ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was excellent 😂

It would be interesting to try the long antenna with a known 50 Ohm feeder to see if the trace was better.
From my experience, most sellers on AliExpress and Ebay usually don't understand, don't know and don't care about what they sell. 😭
I'm not surprised about the mislabeled frequency.
I've been playing with some boards that have a microcontroller and integrated LoRa transmitter at 915 MHz, and many of the included antennas don't match. Seems like a lot of them match the European standard 863-870 MHz.
On the long antenna, could you unscrew it and do a calibration at the base?
If you mounted the antenna on a metal plate that will alter the resonant frequency as the ground plane is also part of the antenna system, whether it will make enough difference I don’t know.
I did 3:25
@@IMSAIGuy ok, I missed that bit, well done LOL
I think the small antenna might be sensitive to the ground plane it is mounted on. Was a ground plane used during these measurements?
yes 3:25
How are u getting the screen grab? What software are u using
VGA to HDMI to USB to OBS
@@IMSAIGuy Thank you. I been using the capture screen functionality but that gets you static images.
@@IMSAIGuy I been trying out the Eez studio to try to get visual data . That is harder than I thought .
The unit allows you to also grab prn files from its memory via ftp. These files are formatted to make them work easily with excel or other visualization tools. There are also s1p files and print screens that are all dynamically created by the unit in many formats.
How the heck were you able to mirror the HP8712C display into the UA-cam video…. That is GREAT!!! Now I HAVE to find myself one to hack….Oh bother! Surely you didn’t think we would miss that!!!
the 8712 has VGA output. I used a VGA/HDMI converter and HDMI/USB to capture.
@@IMSAIGuy What brand/model converter are you using? I have one that doesn't work on the 8753C (I think because its not a standard VGA).

SWR(or logmag) is easy to see, but does not tell about radiated power.
How would one set up a test to evaluate that?

What is one supposed to do with these? (Whose buying them?)
many uses, the most popular right now is LoRa
