- Demonstration of how to install the Joie Elevate car seat and a review. This is a group 1/2/3 car seat, which means once your child is about four years old it transforms into a booster seat and lasts until they are age 12.

Great video, good to hear a users review and demo rather than the manufacturers. This is currently in my shortlist of car seats we’re looking at so very useful to me, many thanks
Excellent video, no filler chat (perfect) tells you everything you need to know. I was gifted this car seat, now feel confident to use and feel it’s a quality product.
Thank you so much for a super explanation - so much better than the instructions provided!
if wanna loosen the seat belt, while we push the button at under there it so much easier to pull the strap from shoulder/ upper side (has 2 pcs just choose it 1)
I found the strap far too short and when it’s fully loosen it’s still to tight to get son secure.
How do you change it to just a booster seat. I've dismantled it but now left with all the belts and tackle😅 any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks so much 🥰🥰
My son isn’t even 2 yet but is quite big for his age. I find the three point harness is too small - does anybody else have a similar issue?
Thanks. Very useful review.
The straps are super tight even after loosening it to maximum for my 2 year normal weight child.Any solutions please
To adjust the belts, I tried what you showed, pressing the button down under and then pulled both belts at the same time but still I couldn't adjust the stubborn belts. Am I doing anything wrong?
Hi, just bought this chair. Slightly confused about where the seatbelt slides through as it seem there’s the hard back, gap, material, gap, seat material - does it need to be against the hard back? Hopefully that makes sense. Thank you otherwise for an excellent video.
Hi the red clips at the back do you just secure the car seat with only one of the clips? Thanks.
We have looked at dozens of seats for our Granddaughter, this seat ticks all our boxes, its safe, its easy to install and comfortable, we liked the tacky shoulder pads that stops them slipping. I also found, to get even more tension on the cross belt, lift the cars head rest then when the seat is installed push the headrest back down behind the car seat, (its as sound as a pound).
Excellent video, Thank you Jim
So glad you like the seat! I think it's fantastic 👍. Still using ours a couple of years on
Great video. Thank you.
Can you remove the back to make into a seat booster?
Yes
Does this recline?
Our seat seems to pull away at the bottom away from the seat??
Did you ever fix this? Have same issue. Not sure if car specific issue?
Just tried fitting mine and the bottom pulls away too, not happy with that so it's going back tomorrow. I also have a 0-7yrs joie and that's as solid as a rock, imo the lap part of the belt needs to be lower but then maybe it couldn't have been a booster as well
@@richardbarnard692 not car specific, i tried in mine and the wife's car, same issue
@@mrh8637 let me know how you get on returning this because I think mines going back!
I just tried to fit mine in a Honda thats apparently compatible but the lower movement is hideous and I cannot pull the belt any tighter!
@@benshearer2615 I re-tried to fit the seat in case i was being stupid but nope, it's a crap design and will not tighten. I returned mine. Safety and crash tests mean nothing, use your own common sense, how this was classed as safe is beyond me. I could be wrong, but why do some not move an inch (including all adult car seats) and some do? Accidents come in all shapes and sizes and I'd rather have my kid firmly fixed to the seat.
Just bought it and I 'm very happy with it. It 's very light, comfy and handy to use but the only issue is that it is very low and my 2 years old son has no outer visibility at all.
Is there any kind of accessory I should put in order to increase its height for the first 1-2 years?
Thanks in advance.
Nice video btw.
How can I install it with a one point harness
Straps are forever twisting and are too low at the back of the child so slip off their shoulders even when tightened
im trying to find something to get 3 kids in the back, can the cup holder be removed?
Yes, the cup holder doesn't actually come attached. It comes lose and you clip it into position upon installation. However, the instructions say not to use this seat in the middle of the 3 rear seats... Front passenger seat is ok though.
@@jamiegmcdougal on the joie car fitting list it said it was suitable for the middle seat in the back of my car?
Car seat is good yes... the only thing I find uncomfortable about it is, When the child falls asleep, then there is a problem, my baby’s neck was left dangling, and that’s just worrisome, there should have been a holder or latch or something to prevent that.
Yes, it's certainly a worry and I understand what you mean. The lack of recline is a big downside, but for my toddler it has been fantastic. She has slept in it quite comfortably
@@TheMummyBubble what about neck pillow?
I find the straps are too short and my son keeps on sleeping and his neck looks awkward. Anyone else having this issue? Might get a refund
I never had this issue, are the straps not adjusting properly? I find the straps a bit stiff sometimes xx
Also how old is your son, as mine now have the car seat belt across them and they're 3 and 5 xx
@@TheMummyBubble 18 months old. I've since learnt that the crotch strap can be moved forward. I'm going to try that. Just feel the straps don't tighten enough
@@PeninsulaPaintingProjects we just got this for my 3.5 year old and I've used it once, I don't feel like the straps tighten enough and it's very stuff to pull. do you Still have this issue?
All these videos on this seat, and none of them explaining how to get the damn side impact parts to fit properly!
Does it have isfix please
No it fixes to the car with the seat belt
Yes it does
If baby sleep how can he sleep comfortably
Yes, although there's no recline, my daughter has slept happily in this seat
how about getting a neck pillow?
You have to replace a car seat every 5 years so it won't last 9 years unfortunately
This is the worst child’s car seat I have ever seen. Installation is an utter pain.
I've got 2 now and find it easy, perhaps it's a bit of getting used to at first?
The Mummy Bubble I suppose it is a knack but, crikey, what a palaver. It’s getting that last bit of slack to lock the seat tight that does my head in.
