He misrepresented himself with that business card and apparently doesn't watch the people's court or he would have known she comes from a family of contractors 😁
We bought our first house and 45 days later a hurricane made landfall and our NEW construction home was f**ked up. 6 weeks later 2nd hurricane hit, more damage. We live in Louisiana but not near the coast or in a flood zone. First contractor was a "family" friend of my husband's dad, he literally stole over 50k did not do good work or finish the job. We tried to warn other people he was working for the did not want to hear it and he done it to them too. The next contractor was a friend who contracted it out to another contractor who half ass done the job. I told my husband he should have just went with the company I researched, checked with the BBB, looked up their company on every search engine read every review and how long they were in business. But nooo his dad had a friend, we learned the hard way. Dealing with the insurance company, adjusters, contractors, it was the worst 2 years living in construction just wanted our house repaired and life to go back to normal. Not to mention the cost of everything tripled, lumber roofing, flooring, etc bc thousands of people needed it to repair homes. Years later there is still homes that are not repaired or getting repaired. So much destruction so fast.
A Broker a person who buys and sells goods or asserts for others, or arrange or negotiate a settlement, deal, or plan. A General Contractor is a person who is responsible for providing all of the materials, labor, equipment and services necessary for the construction of the project who then gets and puts other professionals on the project as subcontractors that have specializations in particular areas and work, a licensed general contractor is a person or contractor who is permitted to perform a wide range of construction work or services to private, commercial and public places/ homes. in the state of new jersey as was mentioned by the defendants you dont need a specific license for the above only insurance/ bond.
nevertheless we learned something new from this case , we learned that even if a person is not licensed but they have already done any work then the homeowner is still on the hook legally to pay for the work . alot of people probably think that they dont have to pay for any work done if they know or find out that the person they hired is not licensed . and really thats the whole ball game right there because what is the incentive for guys to get licensed if they can legally still get paid for completing any work without a license ?
I don’t understand why some of these contractors don’t make their business legal by getting their license, just look at all the money he lost in court, and now that ppl know now, nobody’s gonna hire him.
“Technically, you can call yourself a "general contractor" even without a license, but in most states, it is illegal to perform construction work as a general contractor without a proper license; doing so could face legal consequences depending on the project value and local regulations.” Which is exactly what he was doing. He was delegating the work and not doing it himself.
Why at the end did the defendant start talking about how the interior designer did hours of work and never got paid? That has nothing to do with him. She probably just grabbed some paint swatches from Home Depot
As a licensed commercial roofing contractor you would believe the amount of time business hire some fly by night guy trying to save a buck who doesn't pull permits or do the work build the current building codes. We ALWAYS had contracts, took 20% for materials and then billed monthly. Always gave warranties. I told so many people your Chuck and Truck contractor will give you a taillight warranty. When you can't see his taillights your warranty is up.
Is “Judge” M a psychic cause she seems to think she already knows what a litigant is going to say? There are many things that I don’t like about PC, but constantly blurting out comments like she does is so annoying! (I KNOW she doesn’t tolerate others doing that, so wish she wouldn’t do it cause it just makes her look like a “know-it-all” -Just saying!
I can't imagine what it must've been like for the plaintiff to purchase a home, in his words his dream house just for a hurricane to come and damage it. The frustrating must've been tenfold.
I'm only 1 minute in but I just know the "I come from a family of contractors" comment will be coming up soon! 😂
Buddy felt like a comedian up there with the "a week later, it was the beach"
He misrepresented himself with that business card and apparently doesn't watch the people's court or he would have known she comes from a family of contractors 😁
I hate when the judge says that! My father is a Dr. but that doesn't make me one
Second here. The defendant looks like he spends A LOT of time using sun reflectors instead of getting his license and register.😂 😂
😂😅😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Bro looks like muscle for the mob 😅

The defendant looks like Sylvester Stallone's broke cousin.
😂😂😂😂

JJ would send a letter to the relevant regulatory agency and reported her and him to make sure he doesn't do business again unless he is licensed.

Credentials missing and licensing fees costs.
BUSTED! That was delicious.

The Electrizhan😂😂 East coast accents❤️
Seems like being licensed is a no brainer. If you are not does that mean your insurance is invalid?

Where's Sunday's people's court?
I don't get why people live on large body's of water knowing mother nature is in control !
I like the defedants dress, sweater and long necklaces
Talk about bad timing!!!
In my country almost everyone who works on houses automatically proclaims themselves as a contractor after working for a few months!
Sometimes friends will give you a refer. But it's because they're getting a percentage of the money in the ally😅😅😅😅
