I started self studying coding in 6th grade. Starting with a simple search of "which coding language is the easiest to learn". Then, I found a few free coding apps on my ipad and started learning. Firstly I picked up js, then html and css. Then I learned python. And moved on to Arduino by learning c++. I also used the solving problem approach to practice my python skill by solving math problems like probabilities. I don't plan to become a web developer or any IT people but this programming skill has surely helped me with my study of mathematics, which is my interest. I also plan to code a 2d physics engine to help with my physics study.

For not spending time for long time, choose the way where you expect to coding, just some month, try different languages,
I know only web, three ways, FrontEnd, BackEnd, Mobile, learn Git - need everywhere
For Front - HTML, CSS, JS - TS, Frameworks(React, Vue, Angular) - when you know constructions of something, just did any projects like a google it what do you like more.
For Back - Go, Java, C#, Python, SQL
    For Mobile, Swift or Kotlin

Lol I also started to learn code bc of arduino at HS. I gave up because my teachers weren’t the best and I lack motivation to do it myself. This week I finally decided to start. This inspired me to contact cus I want to code not for web dev and to be a software engineer tbh I find that boring. I want to code to do cool stuff like game dev or robotics stuff for example arduino. I want to learn but my motivation just dies out. In my head I know it is my fault for not trying and there is nothing to blame but myself but each time I start reading I just feel tired and motivation just shuts down.

If you wana try Arduino, start making something you would use in your home, like a door lock with a pin or self watering plant... basicly something you would want and use everyday.
Maybe ask your mom and dad what they are having a issue with and try fix that with code.
