Love MORNING BRU I think reset the goalie market is tough because Igor Shesterkin looking at $10-$12m it’s almost like a QB who suddenly becomes highest paid this is a fair deal for both sides
by a percentage of cap, he now has Rask money. Gross/Sway were never going to 'reset' the goalie market from an RFA negotiation. I do not like long goalie contracts, as a rule. They can be pretty flakey when when up against a case of the yips. (See also: Tim Thomas, Jon Casey, Blaine Lacher.)
Old guy here. Who knows nothing about hockey apparently. First game not half done and down 5 -1 already. I've gotten replies saying I'm basically an idiot. Time will tell but seems like Cashman at age 85 came out of retirement and is playing d for bs. Korpisalo is a career minor leaguer and that's not gonna change. If Swayman isn't Ken Dryden like he thinks he is., long ugly season coming. And I've seen this team go thru this many times. We all got spoiled for a decade because this team had heart and leadership. Now they have a maxed out cap and can't get any help from anywhere. We have a delusional goalie who thinks he's the vezina winner already. Buckle up bs fans cause there is years of this ahead. The good news is they're gonna have lots of great draft picks and should be contenders again by 2032. Again I'm old so only hope I can still see and be aware cognitively when that happens.
Not going to matter. No number 1 center, no scoring after Pasta, no offensive prowess on the blueline. I doubt they make the playoffs. With or without Swayman.
Swayman will be an anchor on this team for years. Modern players are children. The big bad bruins are only a memory for me. Gimme Cashman and Johnathan any day. Hampus is the most overated dman ive seen in a long time. The d is strong but hes an expensive liability. This team will struggle to score goals. If swayman turns into the bust I suspect he will then Ottawa will finish at least 10 points ahead of them. Hate to say it but this year is gonna be ugly
You seem like a real positive guy. While i don't think the Bruins will be as good as last year, your projections are ridiculous and make me question your knowledge of the game. Oh, and it would be great if Cashman and Jonathan were on this team....so we could watch every player in the NHL fly right by them.
Swaymans signing is equal to islanders dipietro debacle. His true skill will be on display when he starts playing. In his mind he's worth a vezina contract but I think he's gonna be changing his diaper after it becomes undeniable the bs made a huge mistake is committing to a goalie who really hasn't proven himself. It's gonna get ugly in Boston and his agent will have singlehandedly destroyed the bruins for the next 8 years. Like a 12 year old demanding his parents buy him a car because he's eventually gonna get his license
To drag this on for another week for just 250k, which was quite insulting to the fans, and making himself look like a petty, arrogant nutter - it's not worth it. He now has a hole to dig himself out of, and he's going to look like a goofball if he can't take it to the next level.
