Thank you sooooo much. Your explanations were great and well paced. Big thumbs up! I had no idea why I was having so much trouble getting scanned images to outline and cut nicely - bit disappointed to have to buy another pack just to use a feature that should come with the machine.

I already have this feature and have used it with great success many times but not for quite a while so thought I would watch this just as a refresher. I haven't learnt anything new about the feature BUT you have most certainly solved a problem I had with the tiling function that I have, I noticed when you changed the art board size that you had Custom Size for Tiling, the hours I spent trying to do a larger than mat project ending with tears of frustration and all I had to do was a small change in the Art board. Note that the Print & Cut activation card only works for DX model machines (it will not work with a CM machine).

I'm a bit disappointed that the scan doesn't pick up the internal areas of the image. I notice that on the reindeer scan there was a white area between the antlers and head on the right, and on the fairy there is quite an area that should be removed between the wing and the body. is there a way to overcome this? Thank you for your videos, i find them very helpful
Yes you can you use trace all areas, instead of trace outline, which is what I think i used in the video.

I’m the one who asked about availability of the Print and Cut Activation card. 😂. I did get it. Now I have another question. I have a set of Nutcracker png files that I want to put an offset around. I followed what you said to do in this video for using the auto trace function. Two things are puzzling me. I’m working on a new Mac and in the new Ventura OS there is no right click function anymore. So having a problem ungrouping. Also, though not really part of this video could you suggest why most of my Edit panel would be greyed out? I want to put an offset around these images.
Im using Ventura and have the right click. It maybe something that you have to set up within your Mac system preferences, a google search should help you out. With regard to things being greyed out that normally means that you dont have an object selected.
@@applelover53 That’s interesting! I had searched before but will try again. I would like to have the right-click availableI did have my object selected but since I posted to you someone suggested that I can’t edit png files. 🙄
Hi no you cannot edit a png in print and cut i thought you meant you wanted to edit the autotrace cut line, so for the confusion. the onlt thing you can do is resize as ive shown in the print and cut videos.
Thank you, Ashley. I’m probably also to blame for some of the confusion. 😊. One thing I would like to see, is for Brother to make a manual available rather than having people such as yourself who so generously give their time to educate us, do it all. If it weren’t for you and others like you, we would be fumbling around forever. 🤣
Hi Brother do provide manuals for all their machines and accessories, but you have to go online and download them and print them yourself if you want a printable version. I have a general link to all the manuals on my help and information section on my website and i do also have some direct links to specific manuals, heres the print and cut link I hope it helps. I dont work or have any affiliation with Brother I just provide the info and videos to help anyone who may be struggling with or want more help with a SNC machine.

Can I buy this for my CM700 machine in the uk?
The print and cut is only available for the auto blade machines from memory. There is infoformation in the Help & Info section on my website i think
How do you know what features you have permission for on sdx 85
Go to CW online, select your name at the top right of the page, then select pattern and premium function options on the left and it will tell you what you have activated
Can I do this with images from a usb?
Yes you should be able to it works best with PNG rather than jpg as I’ve shown in the print and cut videos
I only have 2 option in the artboard. How do i get the A4 / 8.5x11 inch board ?
if you want 8.5 x 11 you need to choose letter size
You won’t see the other options unless you have the Print to Cut premium feature.
I live in Canada and have just now found it on Amazon Canada. It is close to $100. Does that seem to be a reasonable price?
Hi im sorry i cannot remember how much it was in the UK so I can not calculate the conversion.
I see the one at Amazon Canada for about $100 and it is shipped from/sold by “W-i-s-h Fulfillment” - it is my understanding that W-i-s-h (remove dashes for name) is NOT to be trusted - they sell stolen design/knock-off products.

The price is outrageous especially when this is one of the most expensive cutting machines. I also found out that the enhanced tracing is another add on at $70. Plus in Canada w have to add another 13%.
