I personnaly instantly thought about singing because i got a flashback from the beginning when Markus listens to a musician in the street with a note saying - Human music with real soul - and, while thinking that Markus and the others were going to die, i decided it was time to prove them that just like humans, they had a soul. I swear to god, when they sang I was shaking like crazy but when I saw "Public Opinion : Solidary" i burst into tears 'cause i knew i made it - they made it, they survived. I will never forget this moment.

I played this game with the Peaceful Warrior mentality through and through, never took one single life, managed to save them all. when i closed my eyes as i pressed ''Sing''' and accepted my fate, this happenned . Bear in mind this was my first playthrough, and one i will never forget! Goosebumps!

This is way more impactful to me than kissing North because of the song they sing and they're singing. I don't know. It's hard to describe in words why it's so impactful. The song is kinda or is about the story of the game. That it's about them having hope and fight for their freedom through peaceful protests

That, and also singing and songs are both things we humans love... Songs are filled with emotion.
This would show how the androids actually feel and appeal to the humans better nature.
The fact it was sung by slaves makes it doubly powerful. Some soldiers lowered their weapons early, which was a nice touch as some might have come from different backgrounds and began to understand.
The fact some people deny the comparison between the androids in this game and POC/Slavery is ridiculous. They need to educate themselves, so much hate in the comments of some playthroughs it's unreal.

Same... I wish I could keep playing this game, but as though it was still the first time. First time playing this game was so great.
I managed to save everyone first time round too, which meant making some tough choices, and Connor didn't die once... Which I'm proud of XD
I tried SO hard and it payed off. GOTY for me and I hope it wins TONS of awards. My god, it deserves them all tbh.
Jay Wood yeah, I got the perfect ending to. I didn’t want to mess it up by playing it again for another ending, so I turned it off. This game is definitely the best story game I’ve played in a while, it’s in my personal top ten, only being beaten by Bioshock 2 and Nier Automata.
i choosed singing, because I thought that this is the ultimate sign that they mean no harm. Even in a situation, where they are on the edge, threatened with being shot, singing is the ultimate sign of peace...and music is still the universal language to transport emotions.

There's actually an easter egg of Chloe singing the beginning part of the song if you chose this option
StalkeraBg If you do a pacifistic/good ending, or rather the best ending(I think), Chloe will actually 'wake up' and realize she's more than a machine. She'll then ask you if she can go and find out who she really is, to be who she wants, but that means her leaving you - permanently. You can accept and let her go, which will make her really happy and grateful, but if you refuse, I'm not entirely sure. I'm not sure if she reacts to the bad endings, I just know she reacted like this to a play through I watched.
Muh Ah, if you refused, Chloe said she would reset herself and forgot about this. (Just in case if you haven't found out yet)

Not necessarily, I think both options evoke a strong emotional response, this one meant to equate the androids' plight with that of the civil rights movement, the kiss meant to signify that the androids are not just machines, but thinking, feeling, loving beings. Both are powerful in their own way.

This song was so powerful the first time I saw it, and I fell in love with it, because it's just as emotional and Powerful as the game, and it shows that even after everything that the Androids have been put through they are truly alive, and want to make a difference.

The thing that makes this scene so much more powerful to me is that the song is a slave spiritual. Throughout the game, Markus and the people of Jericho (as well as androids as a whole) represent African Slaves and African American civil rights activists in the 60s. So to have them sing THIS song specifically a) drives the point home and b) works story-wise because Detroit in 2038 seems to be without racism, so the reminder of America's slavery and of the depravities involved would shock the public back to their senses.

This scene makes me want to cry! It’s so powerful, and it really shows how human the androids are, and all they want is to be seen as equal, to be seen as they matter, and this song was meant to be song to each other! It shows how much they care as their own “race,” and this truly proves our inhumanities, and how at the end of the day, despite our differences, we are all human.

Corey Karnes Thank you! But it’s truly what it is. This whole game illustrates every day problems, except in this world, they are, or were ignored. As humans, we freak out when something is unfamiliar, and we tend to treat those things or people differently. At the end of the day, we all bleed, in this case it wasn’t always red, but that blood shows a sign of life, and all the characters wanted was for their pain to end, for people to stop hating them for existing because they couldn’t control it. This has to be the most powerful moment in a game I’ve ever seen, and it was beautifully illustrated.

I guess by choosing surrender I thought the army will show compassion for a little girl, or maybe they can escape along the way.... Orders man orders from the higher ups but guessing and assuming that the people you're ordered to kill (what hank also realized that android also have human emotion) actually have emotion and are a new form of life and so on, and you when you realized that you can see android who bleed not the same, but shows human emotion and only wants freedom, who wouldn't want to join them

Playing Detroit: Become Human and listening to this song is so beautiful, in conclusion, Detroit: Become Human should be recommended as 2018's Game of the Year for having an amazing story and inspiring characters. It should be declared as a story that is gripping and gets your heart going with you making the decisions that shape it.
