I really love this song, it has a dark, psychedelic, late in the evening type of feeling. In my opinion, this song is a reflection of how Jim Morrison felt in the world. He felt strange, like a stranger nobody understood. Nobody treated him quite like. Normal person, but he knew he was strange and he knew he was different, people treat you strange when they don't understand you, and that's what Jim Morrison is trying to say.
if you read about his childhood, upbringing, who was his father etc.. you find out he was clear over his attitude,his view on life etc..he was extremely cultivated

Jim definitely was a poet that made him a brilliant rockstar that we weren’t ready for. I’ve been listening and watching and diving into Michael Hutchence and INXS. I find parallels. Of both of them being completely misunderstood and making brilliant music in a time, that didn’t or could not understand them or their genius talent 🙏🙏

This was the very first song I’ve ever listened to by ‘the doors’. It just started playing and I remember wanting to listen to it more and more non stop, later on I went on to listen to more of their songs and that’s how it all began🤍 also smth about Jim is that his personality is truly rare and unique, to stumble upon him is a moment someone wouldn’t ever forget, he could be so calm and shy which he is and very introverted but then he also has that wild side to him that’s so captivating, I love him and I love his poetry but also how shy he was about it and how he wouldn’t show anybody his poetry which I think is so cute but crazy to think the world reads his poetry now💌

I’ve sat on those circular ledges countless times having lunch or a quick coffee break. I had no idea until just now, watching a different video about EdSullivan and entertainers who didn’t get along. Of course the Doors were one such group and they had about a 5 second clip of this in the background. I recognized it immediately did a UA-cam search for Doors video plus the background building and here I am. I was there 22 years after them. It’s just a fun fact for me is all, but for 35 years I had no idea.

I found a lot on common with him growing up...I could have ended up just like him and would have - except that Jesus saved me from commiting suicide when l was 16...l am so grateful to him to this day, decades later, that I still have my life and He gave me the chance to stay and live it.
