    THANK YOU! This was very quick, to the point, and easy. I installed my first Libre while watching this video :)

    Why do you wait one day to activate the sensor? I just got mine today so I’m totally new to this.

      Jeff Hochberg Usually the sensor readings are less accurate on day 1. Starting day 2 they tend to be more accurate. That is why some users give it some time to settle before they activate it. Hope this helps.

    Nice video! I too love decorating my sensors with those stickers! I have a Dexcom and not a libre, but I love learning about all of them .

    Very informative! Have you tried Blucon Nightrider also with the Libre sensor? I'm T1 diabetic and have been using it for 3 years, works great...

    Good morning
    is it possible to put the freestyle libre 1 sensor when I have a freestyle libre 2 reader?
    (my freestyle libre 1 I had never put it on)
    and how diabetes comes (what are the causes)
    I'm going to tell a little about my life quickly I'm 13 years old in fact I have a blood sugar problem which is quite high but my glycated emoglobins were fine so well soon I'm going to do a hgpo test to see how I react to sugar
    and I have blood sugar that can be very high around 200 and after that it can be normal 80/90

    Hi Sarah, Have you ever had a bad sensor?

    Hi Sarah, really enjoy the videos. Almost give me some comfort after being diagnosed 4 weeks ago. How long did you notice before the readings were close to what you were seeing by finger pricking? I have mine on more than 24hours now, and they still seem out..

    Hi Sarah... I'm just wondering, is there a reason that you've gone back to using your arm, as opposed to your leg, for siting your sensor?? I'm using the sensors about 4 months now, but only recently got alot of discomfort from wearing it in my arm... I'm considering trying my thigh..

    If you don't mind me asking why do you wait 24 hours before activating it?

      Emma Fleming it gives the sensor time to settle, I find readings are more accurate this way x

    I live in the UK and I'm getting a 45 min lesson with a group of other diabetics on how to use the freestyle libre next week. After that I believe I'm on repeat prescription for the sensors FOR FREE because NHS.

    Hi, thanks for the video. I am very new to this diabetes thing and decided to try this cause having to stick needles in my fingers is a guitarists worst nightmare. I just picked up the sensors today and i am using my iphone as the reader. Does this hurt applying it? I saw what looked like a spike! LOL! Do you feel it in you when you are active or say like if you rest you arm on something and its applying pressure to the sensor? Thanks in advance.

    • @TypeOneTalks
      @TypeOneTalks 4 роки тому +1

      Larry Hirshon The application does not hurt at all and I do not feel it while using it. Comfort level is 100%

    • @comfort_food_guy
      @comfort_food_guy 4 роки тому

      Type One Talks It so doesn’t hurt! In fact, the wear the sensor on my chest. Unfortunately... I developed a reaction to the adhesive after about month 7. I’ve tried many fixes. The one that works the best is Flonase, SkinTac, Hydro Seal, Sensor, your choice of patch. I use Not Just a Patch and swear by them.

      Throw Away Using baby oil or coconut oil makes the removal much smoother. I made a video about this if you’d like to check it out.

      Oui, vous êtes bien sûr, c'est très facile à comprendre. J'adore toujours ses vidéos. Merci Sarah pour vos difficultés. De plus, je voudrais remercier Abbott d’avoir présenté un capteur aussi merveilleux pour les patients diabétiques. Mais voici un autre appareil qui ajoute chary sur le gâteau. Sur le FreeStyle Libre Sensor, j'utilise un autre appareil, BluCon NightRider, qui me permet de lire toutes les 5 minutes sur mon téléphone portable. Je suis en sécurité maintenant, je n'ai pas besoin de porter mon lecteur Libre. Juste partager mes points de vue. À votre santé!

    Hi Sarah, finaly I buy the Freestyle Libre Starter Set for 170€. First at all I can't believe how bad the Reader works. The Reader gives you only the RAW data from the sensor and that is min. 30-40 mg\dl lower than my BG realy is. The Reader is worthless for me. To fix that problem I download the Glimp App for Android and use now my phone to check the Sensor. After a few calibrations the data is nearly the same as from my BG Meter. But to use Glimp, your phone must be able to read the NFC Chip from your Sensor. The Libre Reader is a peace crap.

      There is a delay. Try testing using a glucometer, then wait 10 minutes and test with Freestyle Libre. Also try comparing when you haven't eaten or injected recently. The delay is because the libre measures from the liquid that exists between the cells under your skin. The liquid is used to take things from the blood to the cells. It takes time for this to happen. There will be an increase in the glucose in the blood followed shortly by an increase in the liquid between the cells.

      I got 1 from the UK to try here in Canada, we still don't have it here on this side of the world, and it was awesome: a life saver for me. It's not perfect and a step or 2 from the ideal solution but you wont regret it if you can get it.

      J Briggs it is unbelievably convenient. I stopped checking my bg cause I dreaded the whole process of setting everything up, but with this it's so easy. I understand what you mean though, you'd think someone would've created something a lot more advanced.

      I hear you... I was diagnosed 4 months ago, so this is all very new to me. Im still trying to figure everything out. My doctor wanted me to check 3 times a day. Each time i would i would feel my anxiety rise. It got to the point where i would have everything set up for the next time. I feel like im competing against the machine. I think this will help ease some of my anxiety.
