  • Up-cycled Mid Century Modern Fire Pit From a Frying Pan
Simple fire pit to burn scrap wood in, made out of an old pan. The slots are for air flow and also to get rid of ashes. Is not the time of year for it but now I am geared up for when it gets cold.

Hi Amir, loving your creations so far. I started out woodwork/metal work and restoration projects as a bit of a hobby, but it's starting to turn into a profession. I quite like the idea of filming as I go too and posting the videos. How do you find filming adds to the making process? Do you spend a long time editing videos? Thanks 😊

@@Bhraonain I would say it just about doubles the time you spend on a single project, but the value you gain can be very worth it!

I love the way you upcycle. Not only are you a talented craftsman, but you also have a great deal of creativity.
Just a thought, but if you still had the lid for the pan, you could turn it into an ash receiver and save yourself the trouble of sweeping up after a fire.
Oh, and subscribed of course. How could I not?!!

I wonder if the ash would be slightly more rich in iron compared to a standard fire on the ground, could make for better fertilizer material.

Very simple and easy...but did not understand why you bent the handle downwards as it becomes more heavy to carry it ,upward put the wooden handle at risk of slipping out and falling while carrying it around , could have made a detachable handle too..this fire bin can also be substituted as a BBQ coal pit , only to need to place a nice round grill on top of it ...good job anyway... thanks and all the best on your next project
PS can you play more of Nate Perdomo's music on your videos.

@@A.Mere.Creator you should make one that has long and telescopic poles depending on how big the fire is. It would be like basically 4 small leki trekking poles on the bottom of a pan. If you do this idea, please do that cool handle design, like in this video!

I tried putting the nuts on my bolts like you did but I sprained 2 of my fingers and smashed my thumb on my other hand while using a 9lb hammer and a 10mm deep spark plug socket . I ended up having my girlfriend file away the threading on the inside of the nuts and that took almost 3 hours: The threading on my bolts matched too and I don’t know why I’m supposed to jam the nuts down like that when Incoukd have just screwed them on. My girl said to just screw them on but I kept telling her that’s not how you put them on in the video. Is that what you actually did and just edited the video to make it look like they just appeared all the way at the bottom of the bolt shaft with the snap of your finger like you did with the holes? I’m lost and in an incredible amount of pain. Will the fire still burn the same either which way you do it? I feel like an idiot.
