I've been in the retro gaming / MAME cabinet / arcade controls hobby since 2010 or so and this is probably the coolest project I've seen yet. I love how a little bit (or a lot, actually) of ingenuity makes for a set up that provides a baffling level of variety while remaining economical in footprint. All the while, the control panel remains fairly clean and free of franken-clutter, so playing some good old arcade games on MAME is not compromised at all. You mention in the video how much "tinkering" is involved in these hobbyist projects, and honestly that's the part about this project that makes my head spin a little bit. I can't even imagine the tedium of setting up all those features with the lights, transformation, different displays, etc. Anyway, cheers to you my friend, this is impressive.
