I have been baking gifts for years and I prefer to gift them in festive tins from the dollar store. They are cheaper and can be reused. I have baked: sugar cookies, shortbread cookies, cake ball truffles, cupcakes, banana chocolate chip loaves.
I am going to try a new cookie recipe this year, and I am stoked! I am going to be making Italian ricotta cookies. My friend makes them for work during Christmas, and I finally found a recipe that I like. Merry Christmas to everyone! Hope y'all have an amazing holiday season! :) 🎄
Cocoa powder use tip - smoothies! Once in a while I make a smoothie with banana, peanut butter, a couple of tablespoons of cocoa powder (and then the usual ingredients - protein powder, hemp seeds, flax, spinach) and then a bunch of ice. Delicious (if you like chocolate peanut butter things!)
The cookies look really tasty 😍 I'm currently solving a puzzle as well while watching the video 😄 I wish you happy holidays Caitlin and whoever else reads this 😊🎄🌟
my christmas cookie boxes: * taylor swift's famous chai sugar cookies w eggnog icing * red velvet white chocolate chip * christina tossi's compost cookies * peppermint cloud cookies Ideas for cocoa powder: * brownies * cakes/cupcakes * chocolate custard/pudding or chocolate mousse * put a tsp in your pancake batter for choc. pancakes * add a tsp to your coffee in the morning
Girl I just made pepermint hot coco cookies and it used actual coco instead of the mix. And then on top you put a blob of marshmallow fluff then dunk half in melted chocolate and THEN sprinkle bits of candy cane on top
Fyi @ 2:02 that's dutch processed cocoa powder so it has baking soda in it.. it may not make a huge difference but I thought I would let you know in case you saw a recipe requesting dutch cocoa powder
Pyjamas - wondering where you purchased the pants (or a set?) that you are wearing while baking the cookies. The colour looks great for the holiday season.
You are so sweet baking and then gifting in such beautiful boxes! Alas, unfortunately I suffer from a phobia of eating other people's home baked things. I suppose over the years I have watched too many people using their hands, licking their fingers and I just can't bring myself to eat other people's baked goods. I know I know, it's bizarre, and a shame because there are such excellent cooks out there! The brain is a wierd thing. And I miss out on the yumminess of talented bakers such as yourself. ~~C., a fellow 416-er, missing out on good cookies.
Thank you for sharing the Hot Cocoa cookie recipe! Made them. They are hands down my new favorite! ❤

I love ginger molasses cookiea
Cocoa powder ideas:
- brownies
- chocolate crinkle cookies
- muffins or cupcakes
Chocolate crinkle cookies are the best!
Also overnight oats for the cocoa😊
Two ways to use up cocoa powder: homemade brownies or homemade chocolate pudding
